Speaker 1 (00:00):
If you don't mind, could you take us through the interception?
Obviously the first one for you this season is kind
of what what did you see on that play? Kind
of what worked and how are you just kind of
make that play a little bit.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yeah, she was just kind of ran like a spray
out balls kind of behind him, so he had a
hard time ringing it in and then I was just
driving him trying to tackle him maybe break up the pass,
and then the ball kind of just popped up, so
it just kind of heads up play, caught it and
then try to get my feet and bounce.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
I asked Burns this yesterday. But just for a defense,
you guys have forced multiple takeaways the last two games,
but the result still didn't come the way you want it.
Is it frustrating as a defense where you guys make
the plays that you know can flip the game around,
like your Pig Burns forced fumble, but still just can't
get some of those stops late to steal the win
a little bit.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
I mean, it's always frustrating whenever you don't win the game.
So there's always more that we can do on our
defensive end. Some players that we made, and then obviously
some players that we like to get back as well,
So anytime don't win, so equally as frustrating, I would say.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
And then last thing for me, obviously, a lot of
people are talking about, you know, these last two games
meaning more about you know, draft positioning than wins and losses.
How do you, as a veteran, you know, block that
out and focus on Hey, it wins more important than
thinking about draft position or any of that nonsense.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah. I just approached every game the same way, whether
it's first game of the season, last game of the season.
So that's nothing that we really think about.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Thank you, Thank.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
You, Brian, Go ahead, sure try again, can you hear me?
Paul hey Man, thanks for doing this with In regards
to uh yesterday and the defense obviously played one of
your better games overall, But there were a couple of
third and longs. Are those the ones that all that
(01:54):
that haunt you, guys when you look back at the
film together, What do you think went wrong of the
third and long conversions? Obviously they have superb player and
they just kind of threw the ball to him.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah, I think third long that's definitely a time where
you want to get off the field and we felt
like we were in good calls and in good position
and just comes down and executing a couple couple kind
of plays that we just have to make on the
back end, whether it's tackling or just executing to stop
those long third down conversions.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
What's been the biggest difference for you you think since
not for you for the defense, sorry, what's been the
biggest difference for the defense you think since Charlie took
over as the play caller, Chuck, I guess everybody calls him.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
I think anytime you get a new guy in there,
you kind of you want to play really hard for him.
So I think everybody's kind of buying into everything that
he's doing. So we're all really happy with everything that
he's kind of brought in and implemented.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Defense, defensive touchdown? What did you see? What did you
think of that? And what did you what did you
think of what did you think of the first one?
And uh of Nuban's and then what did you think
of the play Holland made that kind of got taken away?
You almost have two defensive touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, anytime you can score on defense, it's a huge
momentum swing and you feel the energy and the crowd
and everything that goes into the offense defense, it kind
of just picks the team up. So that was that
was a really big play, you know, Devon's and then
obviously Nuban as well with Burns forcing the fumble and
then him being able to pick it up and score.
So anytime you can score on defense, that definitely boost
(03:29):
the morale and the confidence of everybody. Thanks, thank you all.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
Shorts. Paul well Good.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
Obviously when you signed with the Giants, I'm sure you
had expectations of what you could do and what this
defense could do and what this team could do. Looking
back at that, can you put your finger on what
went wrong? I mean with not with you, but with
the team and and you know, looking back at that decision,
is it still the right one for you? Do you think?
Speaker 2 (04:05):
For sure? I think as far as what's you know,
what went wrong with the defense or anything, I think
you just you look at that after the season. You know,
you have a clear picture of everything that I could
have done better personally and then also as a team.
So that's something that we'll look at completely after the
season's over. But right now just kind of focused on
continue to improve. Got a good opportunity this week Sunday
(04:28):
against the Raiders, so it's kind of focusing my energy there,
and then you know, we'll look at those things and
kind of try to pinpoint exactly.
Speaker 5 (04:37):
You've played other places obviously, do you think you're playing
for a team that's had a really bad season or
you worry that you're playing for a bad team.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I have no clue as far as what's you know
happened before I got here, So all.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
I'm I mean now now with the season, I mean
is this is this a team having a bad season,
or you know you worry this is a bad team.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
I really don't understand question, to be honest, But like
I said, I just kind of focused on this this
week and then as far as any type of things
that we could look at completely holistically as a whole
for the whole season, then we'll do that after the season,
but right now just kind of focused on continue to
improve as we had into Sunday.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Let me try this then, do you look at the
pieces here and think to yourself, we can be a
much better team next year. I know you're not thinking
about next year yet, but you have, you know, a
contract here that that we can be you know, this
is not what we are a to win team.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Yeah, we'll just kind of look at it after the season,
but again happy to you know, look forward to this
game that we're playing this week and kind of focus
on my energy there before we make any kind of
look holistically at everything that's happened. Thanks, thank you last one.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
See why not obviously the past rushing and then kind
of coverage go hand and ham, but this as a teammate,
we look at Brian Burns in the season he's had,
like how impressive has he been and when and when
you notice him? Guys have said that it looked like
that from day one of camp. But what has impressed
you about the season Brian has had.
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:01):
Absolutely, I think everything that he's done, you know, hasn't
shocked anybody in the building From the first day stepping
in the building, meeting him and then just seeing him
throughout the spring, throughout training camp. He kind of expected
him to have a big year and he's done exactly that.
So he's definitely been everything that you know, I thought
he was gonna be, and then even more
