Speaker 1 (00:00):
How are you doing? I think when we when we
signed here, won't you if you're ready and you're out there, Like.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
Oh yeah, I'm doing great, doing good. Recovery is all
going great.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
So happy to be out there. For you to be
out there, Like why you know you're coming back from
broken leg, you could easily take it easy in the spring, right,
Like why why was it important for you to want
to be out there?

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I mean as long as I was just kind of
following the protocol that the trainers and stuff hadn't played.
So once they said I was ready to go, then
it's just about getting in shape, being out there with
the guys, building that team chemistry. It's so big when
you go through the ration of the season, so being
out there as soon as possible was definitely important.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
How would you describe the skill set?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
A really aggressive corner ball production tackles. I feel like
it's a complete corner overall.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
That aggressive is what would you really like to do?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
I like do everything aggressive, zone scheme, man scheme. I
feel like I can adapt to kind of everything and
game situation, play making matchups. So I feel like I
could do everything.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Oh everybody know.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
Means an old man, But you're the the most senior
guy I think in the cornerback room.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Can you talk about the younger guys and what you've
seen from them and the chemistry you guys are building.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah, definitely, some of the guys are young, but they're
definitely wise beyond their years as far as being able
to take coaching and also being able to lead as well.
Feel like we have a group of leaders me Javon
and then Nuban, but everybody, I feel like, you know,
Drew's doing this thing, Tay's doing this thing, Flop's doing
this thing, and then we got guys like Dan Beldon,
Hean like everybody collectively is really coming together. So can't

(01:33):
say enough good things about the group that I came into.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
What do you What have you seen from Tay so far?

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Just just really locked in, really been playing great all
all Ota is really just really impressed with his ability
to move cover guys, play zone, play man, super athletic,
and then super fun to be around. So I feel
like that was really really good to see him. He's
been doing good.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I think Shane mentioned Shane Goo and mentioned that the
leadership part was like part of the high expectations for
you is that discussion as you got here or like once.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
You got here.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yeah, for sure. I think for me, it's always about
trying to trying to put a good example out there,
regardless of if I'm coming in as a veteran or
even before when I was a quote unquote younger guy.
I mean, I played a lot of plays in this league,
and with that comes the experience and being able to
give people nuggets and also be coulchable as well to
be able to collaborate with those people that are around you.

(02:24):
So that was a little bit spoken about as well
to come in and kind of you know, in part
some of the experiences that that I've had in the league.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Is you know, obviously to tas no one's in pads.
It's not the physical nature of it, it's not there yet.
But what is your sense of what's going on up front?
You know, the linebackers, and then you know the three
tiers of this defense. A lot of you know, this
defense could have very interesting pieces. What's your sense of
how we can all fit together.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Yeah, I think it fit together really well. I think
we're doing a great job of communicating and a really
good job of executing being on the same page. So
that's one of the big things about being a cohesive defense,
and I think we're doing that.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
You've had some time in the defense now right running
into practice.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
What would you say to some of what kind of
defense Shane Bowen half, it's a really good one.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Mhm. What ways use.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Ability to stop offenses, game plan against what they're trying
to do, ability to adapt and do many different things.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
What is stout to the most about defense any teammates
or anything specifically so far?

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I think just everybody's really locked in and doing their job,
executing to details, and then playing with a lot of energy.
Like guys are really really really fun to play with,
and that helps to be able to have fun out there.
Super cool. I you know, I'm happy and excited to
try to get a lot of turnovers and hopefully I
can put a lot of balls in there.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
What do you think of the overall vibe about being
a Giant and the professionalism and the approach.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah, I think it's it's a great thing to be
a Giant. There's there's great history here and so being
able to come into that that's definitely a blessing. And
I can feel the energy of the organization as well
as the teammates.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
You and Bobby obviously go back to Stanford. He was
talking to us about just watching Europe a little bit.
But he did you guys talk about everyone's playing together
in the nability I've ever.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Thought, Uh, yeah, I mean we we we work out
together in the off season and stuff. So briefly. Obviously
the cards have to pan out, and they ended up
panning out, but briefly yea.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
But just but just being with him now, like this
kind of just feel like, Hey, I'm with somebody that
I have a great relationship with that we can just
extend in order to feel a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Yeah, for sure. I mean just being able to either
go to his house and watch film or just talk
ball with somebody that is a friend as well as
is always cool. The more you can connect with somebody,
the easier it is to have those conversations where you're
you know, going up against each other and maybe challenging
each other and stuff like that.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
So the receivers keep talking about how, you know, Rusto
is such a great deep ball as someone's on the
other side of what makes it effective when you're trying
to kind of break those up.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah, I mean he throws at high so you really
got to be able to get your head around and
track it for a good bit of time. So sometimes
it's good for receivers.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Do you get a sense of his leadership as well?

Speaker 2 (05:14):
For sure? Yeah, he has a great presence about him
as far as knowing what to say and when to
say it. Timing is is really good about him. And
then his professionalism first one on the field really really
just a guy that you can definitely look at and
know that he's done it and someone to look at
and take notes from him.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
That's school Carter so far.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
I know you're at a different level, but yeah, he's
in front of you.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, it looks really he looks really impressive. And then
it has a great mind on him, great mindset on
him as far as coming in and ready to learn
and work and so yeah, definitely excited about him.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
The biggest part of your what do you enjoying more
steam you know about New York, New Jersey at this
area in the city.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I mean, really the team, like my teammates have been
my most important part about this whole thing. So I
haven't really been too worried about doing everything else about
New York. I kind of just focused on the team,
but definitely as we get a little break out, maybe
venture out and explore a little bit
