Speaker 1 (00:00):
So short week here.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Uh, I've got a lot of meetings, a lot of walkthroughs.
Will continue to have that over the next two days
and get ready to play Philadelphia four and one team.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
You know, playing good football. Got a lot of good games.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Offensively hurts, He's a winner, been a winners entire life.
Saquon two receivers. They got dynamic receivers on the perimeter,
bookend tackles.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
A very good offense.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
You know, they can run it, they can throw it,
So be work cutout for us defensively. Coach Fangio done
this a long time, has a lot of good football players.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Jane Lee Carter starts there at the you know.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Inside defensive tackles, hard man to block. Jordan Davis another one.
Really good young defensive backs that they have. That our
premier i'd say defensive backs in this league already in
a second year.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
So it be a challenging game. Look forward to it.
But got a lot of work to do here relative
to our job throughs over here. The next two days.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Spent a lot of time doing that, had extra meeting time,
cramble lot in in a short week, so injury wise,
we got here. Slayton would not practice today. If we
were having a normal practice, illumin or would not planning
in folds and Bozeman. So we'll see where those guys
(01:28):
are at by the end of the Bozeman.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
How's Jackson Andrew? Will he be good? Tracy do more
today if you.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Think good, Well, we're doing a jog through, so if
we were practicing, he would do more.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, So I'm hopeful for Tracy.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
We're about and the illumin or just not being able
to practice today. Put them as like long shots.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
W you say first, I'd say we'll take it all
the way up to the end, Jordan, like you usually
do on short weeks.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Seehe those guys are at what they can do. Jackson's
hamstring is that like from week four or is this
something new? If that picked up, yeah, he'll be okay.
You work the balance between Tracy if you can play
in camp.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
You know, you haven't really had both going at the
same time.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Again, we'll see where where Trace is at. Hopefully he'll
be able to do something on Thursday night. We'll use
both of them, they'll use all three of them.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
You know, you're obviously very familiar with Saquon what he
did last year.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
His numbers. Certainly you down this year. He's not character though,
six times and you look at that and say so there,
or do you say yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:45):
You look at their offense and they have premier skilled players,
good offensive line, and an exceptional quarterback.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
So whether they want to throw it to Smitty or
a j that's a challenge.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
You want to hand it off to Saquon, that's a challenge,
Goddard at tight end. I got a good roster, a
lot of good players, and he's one of them.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
How much you expect after his game with six carries
that he's going to get a lot in this game?
Speaker 1 (03:15):
I think you got to prepare the best you can.
You don't know how they're going to play.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Obviously they played a certain way last week. They played
a little bit differently I'd say weeks before that. But
you know, stop and run it will always be important,
you know. I'm sure they want to get in the
ball as many times as they can. I'm sure they
want to get aj the ball as many times they can,
smitty the ball as many times as they can. Goddard,
I mean, they got a lot of good football players.
(03:41):
Whatever they choose to do is what they're going to do.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
A lot of talk down there, Brian about AJ's usage
and so far this year and lack of targets, lack
of yards. Do you pay any attention to that where
there might be a more concerted effort to get him
the ball or can you just kind of you can't
focus on that at all.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, you watch all the games and you watch him
when he's out there. Get open, big, strong, fast, has
good hands, can run any route you want to run. Sure,
they could throw in the ball as many time as
they want. I mean Squon doesn't get it, or give
it to Saquon and AJ doesn't get there's one ball.
They're all really good player Smitty. I mean I've been
around Smitty. I think he's an exceptional receiver too. So
(04:22):
I think what I'm sure, whatever they want to do
or think they need to do, that's what they'll do.
You have to watch the tape. AJ's open a lot,
so but give to Saquon. He's got productive yards. You
run his own read or throw it to Smitty.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
There's another thing.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
There's there's a lot of weapons, I would say on
that offense, and whatever they choose to do is what
they do.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
What have you seen from Marcus, Like, in the event
that Jermaine is not able to go, how's he looked
and he's done a good job.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Yeah, does a good job. Knows his stuff is on
top of his stuff, So we'll see how it goes.
I think your manor be okay, Dames, when you.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
Look at you know, guys, young guys with thinking Jackson
and Cam specifically, all the work you put in pre draft,
once they get here, the time you spend there's a
difference though, to see how guys are going to react
to adversity as opposed to maybe a Darius Slayton.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Who you've been with for years.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
Now, what have you seen from Jackson and Cam over
the last forty eight hours? Seem like they you know,
took Sunday, you know, on their shoulders the responsibility for
and how have they responded.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah, they're true competitors.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I love that they're here, include Abduel in their DA
A lot of the young guys that are playing, they
all have the right makeup.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I have a lot of confidence in all those guys.
What have you seen You mentioned that Duel, you know,
those first of the five.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Games here, you've seen He's played a number of spots
I think he's been productive in terms of getting pressure
getting into the backfield.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
It's hard guy to block.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
He's had a number of pressures on the quarterback. Smart again,
he's played a number of different spots for us, right mindset.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
It's a good young player.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Is there is there sort of a next step to
him to be making impact play you.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
Know, splashy stat plays.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Yeah, Yeah, I don't really think he's got a limit
in terms of his ability and again getting pressure on
the quarterback and a number of different ways dropping into coverage.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
If we needed to play an inside linebacker.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
We need him to play true team player and a
very good young player.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Weapon against it.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
Yeah, we're just getting ready for it. So they do
a number of things off of it now. Been productive
for him. So again there's only walkthroughs right now, but
we've got to do a good job.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Of trying to defend it. It's often the best friend
where you've seen contact.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
How does that work?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Did you say the tight ends? Yeah, connecting Well.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
I'd say for any rookie quarterback, someone that can get
open uh is one of their better friends. Whether it's
a slot, whether it's receiver, whether they're running back, they
have a good relationship and say, off the field, I.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
Think they got a lot of confidence in one another.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
I know Jackson trusts THEO as he does Belly, you know,
so try to keep keep that going and get some
other guys too. What you well, well, let's see where
slave's at. If slave can't go, then you know, probably
do something here. But just want to see where he's
(07:49):
at here in the next couple of days.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Yeah. Probably. You mentioned you feel good about illumin or
you seem like you feel good about Tracy. Do you
have the same field it's about slate or not?
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Short, Yeah, I'd say it's it's pretty We've only got
a couple of days here.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
We're gonna give him all the way until the end.
But if you can't go, he can't go. And if
you can, great, good right thanks division, Yeah, saying your
e for in the division continue to rise as you
you know, you're your audio into in the division. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Big game, big game against the division opponent at home
Thursday night, against a team that's a really good football
team four and one. Uh, you know we're gonna have
to be locked in and ready to play good football.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Is there anything about a wokie quarterback playing his first
division game.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
I mean, just another case is the next game for him,
But you hope he's continued for a while and after
playing these guys slice.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
He here for a long time.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
A lot of first for Jackson, So short week division game,
you've gotta get him ready to go.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Right.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
What did you think of scott Aboo clapping for a
new gloves after their fumble?
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Did you have a problem with that? Did you review
that it.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Off flapping for new gloves. I'd say, look, he's yelling
to the trainers, like, get me new gloves again. Scat's
a competitive guy.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I know he takes that one heart. As you've asked,
do good job of protecting the ball. You've got a
lot of faith that he will.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Opinion about that. Just keep on working ball security.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
Right, when you guys started Dart in the first game
against the Charge of the offense looked different. It was
kind of a bit of a change from from where
the way that it looked with Russ. Now that there's
been two games of the offense and additional film out there,
I match some team's going to be more prepared for
that style. How much do you change and adapt what
you're doing with Jackson? Now as the week's going.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
I think you do it every week counter relative to
who you're playing. But again, as he plays more, it's
that's there's truth to that. There's more tape out there,
there's more studying from coordinators, from players, so you're constantly
trying to evolve what you're doing.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Well, it's a it's a short week right now. Right
now I'm focused on this week, I guess the Eagles,
which is a short week.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
We've been at it pretty good here and we'll do
the things we need to do to try to be
successful this week.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
The last couple of weeks in the league with the
guy's dropping the ball you know before they get to
the end zone.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
What what I mean?
Speaker 1 (10:26):
You're surprised that still happens. And as a coach do
you show that the you know what? What what's you know?
You don't want to see that. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
We we have a.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Tape each week, usually Saturday mornings, from plays around the league.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
A variety of.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Things, situations, challenges, penalties, decisions. We have a you know,
we go through a tape on Saturday morning, try to
cover our basis with things that have happened throughout the
league so that it doesn't happen to us.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
You've saved, say a guy dropping a ball or something.
That is, every time that happens, you show it. Yeah.
I'm pretty sure probably every every team does that. U. Yeah,
