Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, Days, how you doing?
Speaker 2 (00:02):
HOI doing Evan good?
Speaker 1 (00:04):
When you went back and looked at the tape, did
anything stand out to you? Just kind of seeing those
pros at Jackson made you said some of them may
have been capuled. Did anything stand out again to you
looking at those pros that.
Speaker 3 (00:16):
Some of receivers drop.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Yeah, I would say, Look, you go through the tape,
you make corrections with every position and then you learn
from them and move on. So certain things we got
to correct, continue to correct a lot of good things
on this tape with the guys that played, and we'll
just keep on working to get better.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
And then going back to Jill and I know you
said you were going to also look back at the
tape and just kind of assess what he did. What
would you say about his performance yesterday?
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (00:46):
I thought he made a nice play on that ball
that nineteenth through, ran a couple of good routes. Sure,
there's a couple of plays you'd like to have back.
But I like the way you responded in that drive
on that touchdown catch.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Hey Brian, how are you hi?
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Right? Do you have an update on t J Moore?
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
You know he's he's got an injury to his leg.
He'll be getting surgery on it today or tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Okay, so he's still at the hospital.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 5 (01:39):
You is there a scenario here, Brian where you possibly
keep four quarterbacks? And uh, I guess related to that obviously,
if you could kind of talk about how Tommy has
handled this summer when obviously the math is against.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Him, yeah, I would say similar to the injuries, Ryan,
We'll have a lot of discussions on the roster and
keep that in house. But Tommy's been a pro since
he's been here day one, not just this year, but
the other years as well.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
So yep, Hey, Brian, I know Kim Skataboo was just
three carries last night, but what does it mean to
this offense in the running game to have him available
to you guys?
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, he's only had a few plays, so he needs
to continue to stay healthy.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
What do you guys as a coaching staff sort of
do to manage not pressing him too much, but also
allowing him to kind of see show what he.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Can do.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Well.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
We have meetings with the medical team and they give
us a number of plays or reps in practice that
he can handle, and we give him those plays. So
the amount of reps that he got last night was
you know, sat down with the medical team and this
was the amount of reps he can get. So you know,
hopefully every day he can do a little bit more,
(03:00):
know throughout these next two weeks.
Speaker 6 (03:03):
Yep, Danz again, Hey, Ryan, just wonder who's going with
the communications with Jackson In the first draft.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Seemed like he couldn't hear the play cause.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Maybe uh yeah, I mean we got we got to
play into him. That was the sixty yarder. We yelled
from the sideline. So he did a nice job of
handling that and you know, turned to play in that
you know probably wasn't even on the opening part of
the script. Not probably wasn't on the opening part of
the script and uh, adjusting and making a good play.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
He's literally yelled from the sideline with played around like
from the wristman.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
H yeah, yelled a word to him.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
And this isn't really a Jackson question, but I guess
applies to him too. But you've been around for a
long time and everyoney's put disclaimers.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
On preseason and you've said.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
Oh, it's vanilla defenses and said, how do you know
what's real from the press, whether it's Jackson or another
guy has production backups, or they said its vanilla, cause
how can you tell what's real and what's you know,
it's just preseason.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Sure, well, I think our focus is on, you know,
are you executing your responsibility at a high level. So
not it's not you know, a bunch of schematic type
things that are new for that particular week. It's you know,
some things maybe you're showing that you're not going to
show in the regular season, or you know, some of
that strategy there. But really what you're looking from the
players when they step out on the field are they
(04:27):
are they playing up to the standard, are they being disciplined?
Are they doing the things they need to do to help,
you know, the offense, the defense, the kicking game be successful.
And if you're you're executing your responsibility, regardless of it
was a vanilla coverage or they didn't do, you know,
whatever it may be. You know, are you tackling well?
Are you improving in your tackling? Are you running to
(04:47):
the football on defense? Are you getting you know, ball disruption,
you know pass defenses. Are you catching the ball when
it's thrown to you? Are you reading the play the
right way when you're running back and gaining yards after contact?
Are you making a proper decision at the quarterback position
and throwing the ball where it needs to be on
time in rhythm? Are your combination blocks going to the
(05:07):
right linebackers? You know, all those things that executing your
responsibility is an important part of being a good football
team and being a good unit. And those are the
things you can evaluate, you know, I know, a game
to game basis in the preseason, live live football. You know,
all the practices are important, a question about it, they're important,
but until you can really play and have full contact,
(05:30):
those are some of the things that I think are
helpful to evaluate.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Goods.
Speaker 7 (05:36):
Yep, Charlotte Carroll's it going.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
I'm going to actually quickly follow up on that.
Speaker 5 (05:44):
Is that something you've seen Jackson do continuously all through
camp just to execute responsibly at.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
A high level.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yeah, I just want to say Jackson, I'd say the
entire team. It's never going to be perfect. The game
is never going to be perfect, and you're going to
be down. You're going to have, you know, issues in
a game and can we self correct and do it?
You know, when it counts the most, and everybody's responsibility
is to do that, from a coach to a player,
(06:11):
so everybody's involved in that.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
And then I also wanted to ask about what you've
seen from Evan and his two games that he's played.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Yeah, I think he's done some good things, and then
there's things we need to continue to work on him.
Obviously it's a new spot for him, but you know,
a couple of good clean the pockets and some movement
in the running game. You know, we'll continue to work
with him to help him excel at his his job.
Speaker 7 (06:34):
Thank you, and Valentine, Ed, you're on mute, Sorry about
that dates.
Speaker 3 (06:47):
How are you, Ed?
Speaker 2 (06:48):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I'm good.
Speaker 5 (06:50):
Hey.
Speaker 8 (06:51):
The guys, you know, seemed to be having so much
fun last night. They seem to be so loose. You know,
you guys went three to zero in the preseason. The
sidelines were pretty active. Guys really seemed to be enjoying
themselves in your experience, I mean, is that an important
way to end the preseason? Does that kind of stuff
(07:11):
carry over into the regular season or does it not
really matter?
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah, i'd say, you know, Ed, this is a week
to week league, so each week you have to be
ready to go and be at your best. And you
know the challenge in games is, you know, when you
do get knocked down or you're down ten points, how
are you going to respond? You know, the guys were
playing well, I was, you know, was happy about the
(07:37):
veterans that did not play, that were into the game,
that were helping the other guys communicating on the sideline,
which is the most important thing. But then you know,
showing some support for those guys when they did well,
or showing support for more when he went down. But
this season or this game is a week to week game,
so we have to put everything we got into it
(07:57):
for each week, and one week doesn't ca area over
to the next week. It's like one season doesn't carry
the over. It doesn't really matter. The only thing that
matters is your preparation and ultimately how you perform the
one time a week you do play a game.
