Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, Brian, just just what's the vibe around the team
today and what can you guys do?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
What's the message in terms of turning the page.

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Well, that's what you need to do.

Speaker 4 (00:10):
But you know there's you know, certainly a lot of
guys that are you know, that are hurting right now.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Uh some physically, but.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
You know, they gave everything they had and we came
up short and that was a that was a tough one,
make no mistake about it. But you got to get
back on your horse and get ready to play a
very talented team.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
That we just played two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
So that's look at the things that you know, we
didn't do quite as well, and we'll get on to
Philadelphia with the right mindset.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
If you guys made a decision on the kicking situation,
whether you would elevate young Waiku or or whether Graham
going to be ready for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yeah, we'll see where that where that goes here throughout
the week.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
Evan Barnes.

Speaker 6 (00:59):
Just kind of looking at this game and maybe the
Dallas game as far as just not being able to
close out games in your mind, what what do you
see being a common thread maybe between just kind of
how you know, mentality wise, just how this game was
almost eerily similar terms of not being able to execute
down to stretch away years wanted to.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Yeah, I would just say this, and it's not about
one play one player offensive side of the defensive side
of the kicking game. There's plenty of plays.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Too, and opportunities that we had.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
And you know we didn't we end up making those plays,
so get the results and it's, uh, you know, there's
a lot to learn from it. But you know, we
played some good football for a while, but at the
end of the day, we didn't finish. We didn't finish
the game.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
And then I guess defensively when you go back and
look at the tape. Obviously we spoke about how it
ended last yesterday, but are you seeing differently that you
know you guys would want to do this week or
just kind of going forward which you guys can learn
from just kind of how that those last drives ended defensively.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Yeah, Again, every game is different, Evan, So this game
was different than you know, the Dallas game relative to
what we played or how we played it. You're always
learning and trying to be better specifically from.

Speaker 6 (02:20):
This one, though, what do you think you guys can
learn from this as far as it's maybe any difference
chematically or you know, as you said before, you want
want to be more aggressively. Is there anything you can
see differently? They maybe you could have, you know, want
to do differently.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Like I said, ev, it's it's it's all three phases.
There's plenty of plays that we had opportunities on decisions
we made.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
We can all be better.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Thank you, Jordan on.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Hey it's going on.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Jordan, I'm sure you heard or saw that some of
your players were upset about the idea of you know,
dropping eight and brushing three there on that first play
of the final drive. What do you what do you
make of that?

Speaker 5 (03:04):
And have you spoken to.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Guys about that?

Speaker 4 (03:09):
Yeah, Look, there's plenty of plays that we had opportunities
to make, you know, throughout i'd say the fourth quarter,
and we just came up short. So it's not about
one play. Like I said, it's not about one player.
It's not about one specific side. It's a collective and

(03:29):
you know, I can do a better job.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
But when you have.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Players upset about that, and obviously it could be looked
at as okay, they don't do they have full confidence
in the defensive coordinator and you guys as a whole,
as a coach, step if they're looking at that and
being critical of that specific decision because it is the
kind of I know you said, it's a different play call,
but the concept of not being aggrantive is similar to

(03:55):
the Dallas game. Does that concern you?

Speaker 4 (03:58):
Yeah, Like I said, there's plenty of plays that were
out there for us.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
And we need to do a better job with that.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Also, when you're up nineteen points, you go for the
two point conversion, what's the thought process behind that?

Speaker 5 (04:16):
There A lot of people say you should kick the field,
go there because you know, two touchdowns to two point
conversions at sixteen and then three.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
It gives him opportunity to do it without scoring three touchdowns.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Yeah, that's the decision that we made. That's what was
on our chart, and that's what we went with. That's
what I went with.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
Paul Schwartz, do you have any Do you have any
update on the any of the injury guys.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Alin de Debo Burns not yet, Nope, Paul Schwartz, Hey, Brian, Paul.

Speaker 7 (04:46):
One specific one you mentioned, you know slightly last night
letting Jackson throw the ball third and five, right, they
had used two of their timeouts. You could run it
and make a muse a third time out. You obviously
put trust in your rookie quarterback. You threw an interception.
What is all the things that you're thinking about there,
the ramifications, the pluses and minuses.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Have confidence in Jackson, go out like we did similar.
I'm not saying it's the exact same thing, but you
know the Chargers game when he hit the O there,
I thought we had.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
A good play called.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
I had some pressure, kind of got tripped up, But
I have a lot of confidence in him.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
And that's why we called.

Speaker 7 (05:29):
It is is that is that basically a more physical
error than a mental era. I mean, sometimes a young
player just doesn't see the linebacker or something.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
It was right in front of him, yeah, saw, yeah, he.

Speaker 7 (05:42):
Just he just did not get the ball over him, right.
It's it's so you would say.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
He was kind of tripping up over his feet, and
you know, he threw it to him and the ball
got away from it and they made a play. But
I have a lot of confidence in him, uh and
our offense to go out there and execute at that
particular time.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
And yeah, I thought Africa had a good play called dialed.

Speaker 7 (06:05):
Up if if you you know that could that could
really hurt a young player, you know, throwing an interception
that watching them take it, you know, nineteen yards they
score quickly. Now he's back on the fiel Jackson. What
did he show you to not cave into that? And
you know, in a very tough situation. I mean it's
fourth and nineteen. That series is going a wire to

(06:28):
get your.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Guys down the field.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Yeah, a lot of mental toughness, you know, an ability
to execute under pressure, which you know that was a
big drive for us there. You know, he contributed significantly
to it and some of the plays that he made,
whether creating it with his feet, holding onto the ball
a little longer to give him time to get downfield.

(06:51):
So again things to learn from from him. But you know,
tough environment. You know, he played his butt off.

Speaker 8 (07:03):
Rock.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Uh.

Speaker 8 (07:06):
Just just along the lines with with Jackson. Uh, you know,
how do you how do you evaluate a game like
that from him in this in the lens of the
collapse and the and the loss.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Yeh, Like, how how do you go about doing it?

Speaker 3 (07:24):
I guess? Yeah, watch watch the tape, Watch his decisions.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
I thought he did a lot of good things Tom
and that play you know, got away from him obviously
before we threw the pick. But I had a lot
of mental toughness, made a lot of good plays for us,
gave us an opportunity to win against one of the
better defenses on the road in a hostile environment, along
with a lot of other guys. But you know, obviously

(07:54):
that that one play hurt. But there's a lot of
plays that that helped get to where we were at.

Speaker 8 (08:01):
Do you when when you named him the starter you
said that there you sort of prepared everybody for the
bumps and the learning curves and and everything that would
come along with a rookie quarterback. Is he ahead of
where even you thought he might be four games in?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Yeah, Look, I just we meet with him every week.
He puts everything he has into it, you know, and
he's he does everything he can possibly do to help
put our team in good positions.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
You know, he puts the time and the effort in.
He's got talent.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
There's things to learn from, like I told you earlier,
and that's what we continue to try to do.

Speaker 8 (08:43):
Appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Last one, Pat Leonard.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Are you considering any major changes, whether it's with a
coach or a coordinator, or a play caller, to your
to your staff, or you just riding with the same
guys you have.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
Yeah, like I said, there's no I'm not considering that.
But we all, we all got to do a better job.
Starts with me, and there's plenty of opportunities to to finish.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
That game the way we wanted to, and we didn't
get the job done.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
And about the about the play call in the interception,
I understand, like you said, there was a situation in
a few games ago where it worked out doing this.
But considering your lead, with this time at remaining in
the game, why not put in a run that forces
Denver to use their final time out there because the clock.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Is on your side. Yeah, look, I thought that I
thought the play call that.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
You know that Mike called was a good play call,
and I thought it was an aggressive call to make
a good play against the right coverage what we anticipated
to get and credit Denver they made a play.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
I know you said you didn't have any speci effics
on injuries yet, but for the starters on defense that
we're banged up, So Burns I guess Abdul at one
point of debot and Holland any idea whether those are
expected to be more than potentially like a one week
or a short short term thing.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
Yeah, i'll find out.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
You know, they're all kind of getting looked at right now,
and i'll find out here tonight
