Speaker 1 (00:00):
Is the follow up when we look back at the film,
just kind of what stood out more you've watched as
far as this kind of how both Jackson did and
maybe there's those turnovers.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
A little bit.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, I thought Jackson did a lot of good things
in this game. So but the turnovers again, all gets
stripped out of her hand two minutes, gotta do a
good job. Davis made a nice plant, Sleigh gets taken
out of her hand, the Scataboo defensive end crosses, tackles
(00:37):
face and gets it out all going into the scoring zone.
Hard to win any teams that have had zero to
five turnover ratio and have won a game in the
last twenty five years. So ageat not much different than
what I said last night.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
And then I gets Paul l asked about the two
tin ends said, is that something that you guys might
look at going forward, just giving how well Billy and
bo played.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, I thought they did a nice job. So two guys,
we got a lot of trust in.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
Thank you, ar Canavera.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Hey, Dave's just with regard to Jackson, you obviously you
obviously knew of his quality.
Speaker 5 (01:21):
In terms of his accountability and whatnot.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
In the work he did with the brain, but last
night was the first moment he had and the way
he reacted with such accountability, you know, talking to his
teammates and whatnot. I'm just curious in your mind, how
important is that? What is the importance of that, especially
at his age, you know, to behave this way and
(01:44):
you know his first sentience or conversity if you will.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Yeah, I understand that. Again, he was I'm not saying
he was the same, but even after the first game
he played and we won, there was you know, he
goes back to the things that he could have done better.
I got a tremendous amount of respect for the young man.
How he's handled really everything on the field off the field.
It's no surprise. That's the type of guy that he is,
(02:09):
you know, and he's he's a pleasure to work with.
And I think he's done. You know, I don't want
to sell him short, and I know what he'll say,
but you know, I thought he did a lot of
good things that gave us chances and we got to
take advantage of those chances.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
How does that resonate with the teammates. He've been around
a million teams. How powerful can that be especially someone
from such a young guy.
Speaker 3 (02:31):
Yeah, I think they all respect Jackson, you know, for
his talents one and how he is. He's a pretty
humble guy. They see how he works, they know he's rookie. Again,
There's there's gonna be ups and downs, and there's no
young quarterback I'd rather have to work with than Jackson.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Thanks Brian dun Lady, Hey, Brian, Hey. Ryan.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
From a receiver standpoint, obviously high end collins both at
their I don't know mistakes yesterday. Do you have enough
receivers here to get through the season behind Wandale and
Slaton or do changes have to be made to this roster?
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Yeah, I'd say we're again. I thought that the distribution
of the you know, whether you want to call them
tight ends receivers doesn't really matter to me. Was was
pretty even across the board with THEO and Belly and
Wandell and Sleigh and those young guys are gonna have
to do a good job of making sure that they're
on top of their things, which I know they work
hard to do and based on personnel groups and what
(03:49):
we want to use, you know, could be more, could
be less, but they all got to be ready to go.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Are you What are you seeing from the secondary on defense? Brian,
you have a lot of big investments there, whether draft
picks or big contracts, and doesn't quite seem like those
guys are making places. They're actually giving up quite a
big quite a few big plays over the first five games.
What are you seeing from your secondary?
Speaker 3 (04:16):
I think they've been competitive.
Speaker 5 (04:19):
Now.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
We gave up that big one, a big eighty seven yarder,
which we'd like to have back. Other than I don't
think there was an explosive play throughout the game yesterday,
and I thought they did a good job of hanging
in there when you know, turned them all over five
times and give them opportunity after opportunity to only come
out way with thirteen points instead of more than that,
(04:40):
you know, was a good thing for him.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
I think there's a lot of interest on the outside
the process of how you guys come up with your
game day roster, like who's going to be up, who's
going to be pulled up from the practice squad, who's
empty spots, all that kind of stuff. Can you just
talk about? Is that something you and Joe discuss? You
always say like we're going to talk about that on Fridays,
(05:05):
like who's we and how does that process work?
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, Joe, myself, coordinators, position coaches, we all discuss it.
So again there's special teams involved. I'd say special teams
is an important aspect which I think our guys have
done a good job with. You know what we can
go with? Do we need to go with four? Do
we need to go with three? Do we need to
(05:30):
go with two? Can someone offer more position flexibility at
a certain position. Those are all discussions that we have
on a week two week basis.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
Thank you. We have time for a couple more if
there are any at Valentine.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Morning, Dabs, Hey, I just wanted to I just wanted
to ask quickly. I know it's it's it's early on Monday,
but you've got a quick turn around. Anything on the
status of Slaton for Thursday and Tyrone Tracy for Thursday.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Yeah, I have meeting with these guys at eleven fifteen.
I just got a text about it, so usually meet
with them after I talk with you guys and go
right up there after this.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
All right, thanks, yep, last one Jordan n on right,
I'm actually gonna asked about Darius as well. Yeah, sorry, Yeah,
Aside from that, how did you guys come out of
the game?
Speaker 3 (06:36):
I will I'll find that out in about seven minutes.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
Okay, And then how much when you talk about the Eagles?
Speaker 3 (06:46):
Right?
Speaker 5 (06:47):
Yep? Have you have you already started working on them? Right?
Did you do that where you guys joined that last
year as well? Knowing that it was a short game,
how did you yeah?
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Yeah, a or I mean the breakdown breakdown coaches were
but all our focus was on New Orleans. We've been
we meet for a while this morning, watching some last night,
but we got a lot of work to catch up
on and that's what we're doing right now.
