Speaker 1 (00:00):
Get through the last what's it all been like for you?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
What's it like walking through these doors as a giant the.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Last twenty four hours, They've been great. It's been wonderful.
Last night I got the time to enjoy with friends
and family. Uh so I cherished that a lot. You know,
they've been with me throughout the whole process, So just
to see everybody come on and supporting me, it was wonderful.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Walking through the door this morning was surreal for me.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
I just left here for like a couple of weeks ago,
so talking to Coach Dre and Coach Cox about if
I'm able to be out there and able to get
me and get that phone call, it was wonderful.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I was excited.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
What's different? Do you expect this to be honest, with
a different environment than coming to New York? Uh compared
to you know you were in Taleda for all those years.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Definitely, I definitely think it's gonna be a big change
for me for sure. Bigger city, bigger fans, louder fans.
So it's gonna be a big change. Its gonna be
fun for sure, but I'm ready to get to it.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
Had you been to New York before?

Speaker 2 (00:52):
You to your visit, definitely, So it wasn't due to you.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
It all just being part of the city or getting
used to what's around here.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
No, certain, not at all.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Uh, how did you What was that like getting you know,
coming to New York? What was that part of your
just on vacation business.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I got a feeling that I lived down here, so
that was the main reason what to come down. But
the vacation too, just toward the city, see everything that
I've never seen before.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
So it was wonderful. Where's your family from.

Speaker 6 (01:21):
Have you talked with Dex yet?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Not yet. I talked to Tay last night right after
I got the phone call. He FaceTime moves on the phone,
So it was wonderful.

Speaker 6 (01:33):
When you come in and get to work, what do
you intend to work on in your game to contribute.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Right away in your one as rookie?

Speaker 3 (01:41):
For me, I intend to work on everything. My whole
game needs work. I think you could work on everything,
even what you're good in. So just coming in and
put my head down and going to work, trusting my
coaches and the veterans in the room to help me
is what I'd be looking forward to.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
At what point did you meet Andre Patterson and with
that relationship been like so far for you.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Uh. I met him when I got here.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
After Uh, after I got the Ean breakfast and things
like that, I went straight to his room and got
the chopped over with him and talked to him.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
It was wonderful. It was great. Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
We talked about a lot of things, not just football,
so it was great to talk about that too as well.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
What did he say he wants to like he sees
that he can develop in you.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Uh. He said he could develop my whole game.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
But more than anything, just the knack to go out
there and play with the reguless abundance just fly around
my head on fire.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Have you ever been around the coach? And I'm sure
to get to this point, you've had to have.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Special coaches, definitely.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Drake kind of gives off a different aura when he
sits in the room and how confident he is. What
was that like for you the first time that first
impression with a coach like.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Him, first impression was great. You know, Dre he's a chill,
cool guy. He not Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
He definitely got energy when it's time, but for the
most part, he's chill. He laid back and he wanted
to get to understand you as a player better.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
He surprised you by bringing up some things in your
game that really you can tell that he did homework
on you as a player.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Uh definitely, definitely the things that he said to us
surpriably for sure, But it wasn't a surprise to me
in the in for real, I know what I gotta
work on, and uh so just trying to detect that
day is what I'll be working to do.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
When you you were here a few weeks ago, right.

Speaker 6 (03:10):
On a visit, and you look around, it's all new
to you, right and meet some people. When you come
back here today, did it look different? Did it feel different?
I mean, then you were here, you know, looking around,
you had no idea. Did it look and feel different today?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Definitely?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
It's a different feeling walking here today, knowing that you're
a part of the team, part of a great organization
and the great group of guys who come here and
work hard every day. So coming in that definitely was
different from me. I was excited. I had a big smile.
So I enjoying it right now.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
And and do you you wonder a big guy like you,
do you wonder how do I match up physically in
this league.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (03:44):
You you played at a certain level in college, and
now you come here and you're gonna be playing against
the NFL offensive lineman or do you know how you're
going to match up physically or is that still something.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
You wonder about.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
That's something that's not something not worried about at all
or wonder about. I know what I'm capable of doing.
So just going in here, come to compete and work hard,
and be to learn from the veterans and my coaches.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I think I'll be ready. See he's probably a number
one fan sitting in the front road.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Just what what's this experience fent like for you, you know,
being a dad and also balancing football and just going
through all of us last six years.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Maybe that experience right there, I wouldn't change that nothing
for the world. That mean everything to me, just to
watch him lood again like I did when I was
his age, and for him to be around it for
a very long time, day in and day. I'll watch
how hard I work on the wake up early in
the morning, we can go sleep late at night with me.
It's been wonderful. I bring him and do it all
over again if I could. So it's a joy watching

(04:35):
him do what he love to do as he watched
me do what I love to do. So I get
I get, I get it enjoyment out there.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
For sure.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You think you realize how special it's like. You know this,
this isn't like normal, right, You're like, there's not many
guys that get.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
To do this.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Definitely, he definitely see how special it is for me.
But more than anything, he just like being happy for
me and watching me do what I love to do.
At the most.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
What's been his favorite part of the last twenty four
hours or so?

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Uh, honestly, I say his favorite probably probably getting on
the plane. First time ever been on the plane, so
he was scared at first, but he actually ended up
liking it. So he doing pretty well right now.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
Do you have to get tips as far as trying
to get him used to it, what to expect, But.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
No, it wouldn't really had to give him no test
for real, just about him getting on the plane and
being ready to get on it for once.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
He took off in land and I think he was
pretty okay with that.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
He told us yesterday that Tay said that this is
a group of savages on this team. So now that
you know what you're getting with a dual burn Steaddel Lawrence,
how do you see yourself fitting in with this group
of savages? His tables said it to you.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I feel like I fit in great. I think I'm
gonna savage myself.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
So just all us peaking each other's brain and going
at each other practice, challenge you to get better every day.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
I think that would be great for us out there.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
And GM justin talked about like he wants this team
to be you know, full of dogs, have that physical mentality,
and for you, you just embrace that being into detackle
like you just love being physical like that.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah, sir, definitely.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
I just take my I love taking my opponents will
and just watch him go to the sign and I
know what to say to the coach. So I feel
like that's one that they do well here too, as
a great group of D line guys, and I feel
like I come in and do that as well.
