ILB Bobby Okereke: ‘We need to do a better job making negative plays’

thought good coverage, our rush was good. They made a
better play to us on that.

the NFL is these games are gonna come down to,
you know, these one score games and it's a play.
It's really three or four plays kind of have a
place here or there. So just got an execute better
in those critical situations, like I said, And they did
a better job than that at that though. I guess
when it comes to the run defensive, you've gotten working

on things the last few weeks.

Yeah, what what is not quite getting the run? Depends
what you guys want.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I thought we did a better job. You know, we
didn't have two of explosives. But uh, the teams there
are teams are being unique the way they're attacking us
to play and they're unna kick, they're running slash, they're
they're marrying up there. They're a toss crack with toss slash.
So we're trying to run over the top of toss
crack and they're in the in that like kind of
alley zone between the hash and the numbers. Uh, you know,

it really comes down to one on one plays, kind
of like the players you talked about earlier. It's like
it's gonna come down with a guy being a blocker
and making the play. If you go one for one,
you know, the guys you are good in this league
and then.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Make you pay for it. You guys are seeing different
challenges to meet. It sounds like a lot of a
lot of the they're mixing things up with the right view.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
That makes it hard for sure. They're mixing it up,
and you know they married up with their playoffs and
pass in too. So we just gotta gotta kind of
nail it and increasing negative plays on the first down
because teams and teams are good. You know, they'll go
first in person, ten second, seven thirty three and they
extra on third downs first down, and that wears on
a defense. So we got to do a better job
of making getting negative plays when I'm behind the sticks
