Speaker 1 (00:00):
Just to start. We're opening up a Zudu and Bo Collins,
so they'll be out here today. It'll be good to
see those guys. And the guys who won't practice, they
would be DJ Davidson, Vic, Jamie, Gillian, Nick Jones, Nacho Gunner,
Van Roten and cave On. Everyone else will get to
work today. Oh, he's working. He's working. He looks good.

(00:26):
I saw him in the hallway today, but he's he's working.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Just not.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Bost say up in the window.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Four besides both.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Zu, Yeah, happened with Jamie.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
He's just got a little bit of a knee, like
some knee information. So just working through it.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
What were the biggest things you focused on during by week?

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Ourselves just a self scout, mostly offense, defense, special teams,
you know, talking with the coaches on where we can improve,
how we can improve, and then laying out the mapping
out that plan for the rest of the remainder of
the season and specifically this week, like we're those things
that we can really get better at and nail based
on our personnel, based on how we've been operating these
last few weeks, so you know it, it really gave

(01:12):
us a good opportunity between myself, go be Charlie TK
to kind of sit down, talk through it all and
just kind of see where we're at. And then now
we have a good plan with you know, yesterday and
today have been a really good day in terms of
getting our game planning down and working through like just
those minor tweaks that we want to make.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
And obviously the head coach has a training flamp and
everything get us be ready. But when the way you
got the job, you like know none of that so
was this week. I mean you feel it can really
help you to kind of you know, you didn't have
any time, There was no time to do any of
this stuff.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Yeah, it's been. We used it when maximized as much
time as we could with the coaches, and they've done
a great job of communicating with the players, done a
great job of detailing out the things that we got
to get better and then not just saying it, but
like now here's a plan and how we can do it,
and mapping that out for this periods, you know, having
a great emphasis on certain drills, having great intent on
the different different periods that we want to get to.

(02:07):
So just really good collaboration, good communication from everybody.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Mike, you obviously were involved with the offense, so it's
I don't know if you need as deep a dive
on the offense as maybe you did on the defense.
We were able to spend more time away looking at the
defense and seeing more than just knowing what you saw
in practice and knowing what you got from the coaches.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yeah. I was able to get through all all three
phases and really, you know, communicate with with the with
the respective coordinators and talk to things. I saw, things
they saw. I mean, they're they're a little bit more
in the weeds, and you know, on certainly there's certain
respective areas. But you know, I was able to go there,
ask questions and get some good, good feedback and just
open up those lines of communication.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
Do you expect the duel to just you know, be
put back in there, Like, how do you like the
last time we saw he didn't play the first quarter?
How do you integrate him at this point?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
I mean, I due was doing a great job just
learning from those experiences. And you know, he saw him yesterday.
You guys probably didn't se him, but he's in the building,
you know, seven thirty watching extra tape. Yeah, I think
he's just trying to turn that corner and continue to
grow and develop as a young player and and do
a good job. What do you hope with Jackson?

Speaker 4 (03:17):
Which stretch run? Lookie, it's a long season. You know
his college season would have been over on their bole games.
So what what? How did you send him coming back
into the building. You know, didn't seem refreshed. I mean
it was a lot going on for him that first time.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
He Yeah, he's seen He's seem refreshed, energized, You look good,
excited and ready to go. You had a couple of
conversations with him over the bye and I think everyone's
you know, excited. You know, they had some good time
to get off their feet, kind of refresh their mind,
reload their mind and their bodies. And now you know,
we have a good, clean plan on how we want
to attack this week, and I think the guys are
ready to go. We'll see today, We've got a good

(03:53):
day of practice and we'll get after it.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
What is it challenge for rookie quarterback like him? Do
you think to finish strong, you know with a being.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
That's the that's the challenge for our entire team. It's
not just one person. It's the whole team. We all
gotta we all got to dial into our respective jobs,
the details of how we're gonna operate, the details of
and fundamentals of how we're gonna play and coach, and
so it's really the whole the whole team. So you know,
all of us are in this thing together. So you know,
just putting together a good a good plan for us
that we can go out there and have full with it.

(04:23):
What prompted Cox is firing.

Speaker 5 (04:25):
I know you said yesterday, doing what's best for the team,
but it seemed kind of random.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
It's an assistant coach of a position, just trying to
get some clarity. Yeah, no, I touched on a little bit.
I'm just not gonna I'm not gonna get into the
details of it, of just everything. You know, it's I
got a lot of respect for Bee Cocks, but just
not gonna get into the details of the why behind it,
just out of respect. So we'll let's keep all that
in the house.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
Seeing your random flight home said about.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah, I mean you'd have to ask, can I just again,
I'm not gonna get to like the weeds and the
details of everything there. It's just it is what it is.
It's you know, those are tough decisions. So that's really
all I got to say. It just a lot of
something like that could be to a firing. So I'm
just asking for any insight. Yeah, and again I wish
I could give you more. I'm just going to keep
those details in the house between me and him. You know,

(05:11):
the conversations we had.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
I'm a going to pushback has there been on the
unit obviously selected Charlie as the guy there, how much
pushback has there been on it making him the defensive
coordinator within the staff. I heard that there's been some
pushback to.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
I haven't felt that the guys have done a great job,
you know, communicating, collaborating together, you know, sitting on their meetings,
watch them in the walkthrough that they're doing a great job,
and I'm really proud.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Of I was just saying, what Jamie is I guess
anything that you mentioned it was a chaos kne right
with Jamie that you said, yes is it? You can's
gonna be serious for this weekend or modern day to day?

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Where does more monitoring it? Just want to be smart
and mean it's early in the week, you know, don't
want to, you know, flare up anything. But Jamis is
a tough kid and sure it'll work through it.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
And he guess with Tracy practicing, I mean he's all
set from what happened master.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Oh yeah, yeah, he's he's good. He's good to go.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Here.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
You've seen from uh young way just in terms of
coming off that missed.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
A border kick or whatever. Yeah, yeah, that was that
was hell was certainly interesting and obviously it's things that
you don't really see a whole lot. But listen, he
he came right back, he owned it, he came right
back to I think he's ready to go and attack
this week of practice. You know, something like that happens,
you obviously don't want that to be something that you
know that happens consistently. So he's he's working his tail

(06:28):
off to get that fixed. They'll getting cleaned up, and
really everybody is. It's not just one guy. The whole
operation could have been cleaner too, but they all owned it.
They all took responsibility and players, coaches, everybody. So you know,
I'm excited to watch those guys practice today. He'll pick
for you this week. Yeah, like, what day did you
make your decision on Brian Cox Thursday,
