Speaker 1 (00:00):
What have the last twelve or so hours been.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Like for you?

Speaker 3 (00:04):
Definitely been surreal. I don't think it really hit me
at but it was really just a blessing, just celebrating
this moment with my family. I'm sure you dealt with
these at Penn State to what Now that you're in
the NFC East, everybody's gonna compare you to Micah Parsons.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
How do you handle that and do you see similarities
in your games?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah, for sure I learned a lot from Michael, just
me being at Penn State one number eleven. We keep
that brotherhood tight, but at the end of the day,
I'm my own player and I want to make my
make my own name. That's what I've done.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
What do you think about getting to play against him?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah, it's gonna be dope seeing him twice a year.
We was talking yesterday just about this moment, us getting
to this moment, then just seeing each other that jersey
swap at the end of the game. It's gonna be dope.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
Before or after you got drafted.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
That was your second after, like just during the whole process,
before I before I got drafted, after I talked to him,
So yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:51):
From him, after you got drafted by this sir, What
do you think about that?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
He just proud of me.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Uh, just talked about all the work that we put in,
all the things that led me to this moment.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Hear from another Penn State star in the NFC East from.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
No, not yet. Yeah, for sure, I met him a
couple of times.

Speaker 4 (01:09):
You about numbers.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yeah, there's a couple of numbers that already retired.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
Yeah, we're still in the process of that. But we'll
see what happens. You prefer, we'll see what happens.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
For the Giants fans that don't know you.

Speaker 5 (01:24):
What kind of player are they getting here in New York.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
I'm just an exciting player, a fun player.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
I like to I like to get the crowd involved,
get the crowd hype on third downs, get my best
pass for us, made that biggest plosive play, just one
hundred percent effort, my energy.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
I'm bringing everything.

Speaker 5 (01:39):
You said you had a dream when you were twelve
or thirteen and you're gonna bet a giant. Do you
remember what your reaction was when that dream.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Happened, Like, whoa, Yeah, that's it's like it's kind of
is this really going to happen?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Then?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Me being here is like, you know, I feel like
everything happens for a reason, and me having that dream
everything happens for a reason, feel like this where I
was meant to be.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Did you think about that the call? Was that?

Speaker 6 (02:03):
Like?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Definitely? All the emotions definitely hit me.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
When I hugged my mom, hugged my dad, my aunt,
like a lot of the people that really helped me get
to this moment, it definitely hit me.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, what happened in that dream? Was it your first game?

Speaker 6 (02:12):
Were you in the Super Bowl? No?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
It was just like I don't remember the exact pick,
but I remember like seeing the screen like my name
on it.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
So it's hard to believe, but it's true.

Speaker 6 (02:23):
In your game that maybe you think you need to
improve on at this level.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Yeah, I feel like I'm just getting started this my
first year in a new position, just all the technical stuff.
I feel like improve in all the areas of my game.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You describe that transition, like what made you go from
being like an off ball linebacker to switching the edge.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Of this year?

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Yeah, just knowing how Domino could be, and my coaches
took me on, they trusted me. I just told them like,
I feel like it'd be most helpful for the team
and for myself to switching musicians, being being on the
edge to do what I do best, playing fast, playing free,
and it all worked out, sir.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
What's your relationship like with.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
And some of the other guys.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Yeah, I got to talk to him a lot throughout
the process, really just me getting knowing him as a person.
You know him as men, then me being here, I'm
gonna get to work with them more, to know them more,
and we're just gonna hit the field running.

Speaker 6 (03:12):
What was your level of excitement like last night when
they traded back up to take Jackson.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah, it was dope. I'm a big fan of Jackson.
I played against him in the Peace Bowl where he's
at Old Miss. He ended up winning that game, but
just seeing him how accurate he was just dishing the
ball out, I knew he was a good quarterback. It's
a great pick up. Yeah, well he beat us. So
if you you beat Penn State in a big game
like that, I know you the real deal, especially at quarterback.

Speaker 7 (03:41):
The team some of your highlight packagers and it seems
like that player you.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, it didn't end up Kevin, but I definitely got
a good shot on, but he tough, he got right
back up, kept playing throughout the whole game, so I
knew right there he was a good player. Now they
said like when he released it, he was in a
throw motion, so they didn't count as a strip sack.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Yeah, you mentioned still in the process with the number,
you know, obviously fifty six. You made that comment ystory
about that being a possibility. Do you know Lawrence and
have you talked to him at all? And if you
had not, like how much, like what do you expect
from that? Like do that how much you look forward
to actually getting a chance?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Then Yeah, I haven't met him yet, but I feel
like eventually I will. But he's the greatest football player
all the time, somebody I look up to just want
to like just following his full steps, knowing how great
he was, and I just want to chase greatness and
knowing that he was the best.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
That's why I want to chase.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
But I'm not I didn't say that, just like all
I'm saying I want to be better than Lawrence Taylor.
That's more of me looking up to him, inspiring to
be like him.

Speaker 6 (04:40):
We're a little bit of a unique situation, is you're
joining a team within a division.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
That's going to see the Super Bowl champs twice a year.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Do you believe that that you can help close the
gap between those two?

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Absolutely, But it's a process. All that stuff is gonna
take work. I'm just start by getting here, getting to
the people around the building, getting to know my teammates,
getting get to know them as men. They wants me
in the field, just creating havoc as a defense.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
Jackson has been described as strong in the pocket, like
to stay in there to make the play. How how
rare is that for quarterbacks that you faced, Like when
they see somebody like you coming that they don't just bail.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah, you gotta be tough for that. That's definitely like
a toughness attribute. Like I said, when we plan, I
landed like a really good shot on him. He got
right back up, dusted off like nothing happened, ended up
winning that game.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
So I know he's a really good player.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
What got you interested in Lawrence tayl Because obviously his
last game I believe was nine years before you were born.
Most guys watched players are still playing. What got you
interested in Lawris Taylor?

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Well, obviously just me being at edge playing as and
who's the greatest as all the time. Everybody's going to
say LT, the greatest defensive player of all time. Everybody's
going to say LT. So if you don't, if you
don't know LT as a defensive player, that's that's kind
of crazy. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:48):
Do you bring any kind of attitude? I mean, what
what's your You knows that that people say, you know,
smiles off the field, nasty on the field.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
You do you think that's important in your game?

Speaker 3 (05:59):
I just play football at the end of the day.
Just trust my teammates. Hope my teammates trust me at
the end of the day. Just play football. Burns uh yeah,
Kvon sent me a text. I've seen Brian Burns early
in the buildings that was up to him, shook his hands.
So yeah, just just interested in getting to know those
guys and just building that relationship. No specific just really

(06:20):
just an introduction, just getting to know each other.

Speaker 7 (06:23):
Throughout throughout the process talking to people about your game,
A lot of people brought up the idea of as
special as a player you are skill wise, what you showed,
the toughness you showed in the playoffs to go out
with the shoulder and then come back in the game
really set a tone for some people who were watching
you play thought that.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Meant a lot.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
Were you even thinking of it at that point or
was it just about your team?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
And yeah, yeah, I knew if if my teammates was
in the same position I was in, they'll go out
there and lay it out on the line for me.
And I knew that I want to do everything in
my power to make sure I put my team in
the best the best position to win. No one was
on the line, and if I had to make the
choice again, I'll do it again. Just be out there
with my brothers.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
What if they told you about how they see your role,
because Davii'll talk about that positional flexibility. You're telling me
how you played linebacker. They gotten into that yet of
how they could see using you.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
You talk just a little bit while my visits here,
just but whever my coaches need me to play, that's
why I'm gonna play.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Are you looking forward to most about being in New York?

Speaker 3 (07:23):
Probably just getting settled down, like I said, getting on
my teammates. Then just get right back to football, get
back to work.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Are you physically are you physically ready to be in
the Roo.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Committee, camps and all those things. Yes, sir, I'm ready
to go.
