Speaker 1 (00:00):
Talk a little bit about Isaiah's week last week kind
of getting in. Yeah, crazy week for him. He did
a great job coming in. I didn't think he got
I don't think he got here until Thursday. Uh, coming
in learning the game plan. I know there was some
you know, comfort level with with his his previous experience here,
but I would say it's changed a little bit.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
And and and you know since he's been here, and
you know, coach Crow Troy that they did a great job.
And Isaiah obviously put in all the work to make
sure that he was able to go out there and uh,
not only know what to do, but but do it
at a high level and and make some plays for us. Now,
I mean it was that that was one of the
cooler things I've seen in my experience in the NFL,
is just someone showing up on a Thursday and then

(00:43):
having having a major role in the game and and
and playing well. And uh, he did a great job.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
We thank you.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Last week we talked about how your role changed during
the week, How did your role change on Sunday, you know,
just just communicating with with Mike and and letting, you know,
let them know what what we were seeing thoughts moving forward. Uh,
you know, what plays do you like here? What plays
do you like there? So I would say there's just
probably a little bit more communication there between him and

(01:12):
I and you know, just just again just constantly making
sure that we're seeing the game through the same set
of eyes and making sure everyone's on the same page.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
How would you describe Calvin Shepard's defense aggressive?

Speaker 1 (01:28):
You know, in the schemes that they play, the techniques
that they use, you know, there's a lot of press
coverage when you look at it, they're aggressive. You look
at their backers, you know both Campbell, Anzeloni, you know,
Barnes all, all all those guys are are aggressive in
terms of how they attack the ball carrier and different blocks. Uh,

(01:50):
they're aggressive and in and how they attack the football
with with the punch outs and and you know, there's
there's a definite mindset there for them to go and
attack the ball. So I would say aggresive. It is
probably the best way to describe it. You've done CAF
Obviously it worked closely him for a while.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Is maybe I'm.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Just curious what your impression was of how he handled
last week. Yeah, he did a great job, obviously, you know,
not the easiest circumstances to you know, to kind of
take over in that that situation. But he did a
great job making sure that the team was ready to play,
and I felt like our guys responded well to him.

(02:29):
He went out and we played hard, you know what
I mean. We fall short ultimately, obviously, you know, we
want to win that game, but I felt like everybody
was flying around for for the entirety of the game.
And again, I think that that's just the testament to
Mike and and he did a great job of getting
this team ready to go, both mentally and physically.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Game plan wise, assuming Jackson gets cleared, when you go
to put together the game plan, how much do you
have to take into account that he is coming off
with concussion.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yeah, I mean you definitely take it into account. It's
it's it's you know, no different than someone was coming
off with spriant ankle, you know what I mean. Got
to make sure that that you're not exposing people unnecessarily,
and and again putting putting our team, you know, in
a position to win the game, and for all our guys,

(03:21):
you know, with for us in order to win the game,
we're gonna need our best players on the field, So yeah,
that that that comes into account, but I would say,
you know, that comes into account when when we're designing
any type of play and making sure again that that
we're we're putting our guys in the best spots.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
The run game worked really well on Sunday, So I'm
curious what what did you see that worked really well?
And do you also see this offensive line growing in
a way where that can be replicated.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah, our guys played hard. I thought there were multiple
examples of of pile pushes, of guys finishing you know, uh,
you know, finishing their blocks, finishing to the ball. You know,
it's little things like being the first guy down there
to to help martyr or trace who or whoever as
the ball, helping them off the ground. And you know
that that's something that we're stressing and that's a mindset

(04:06):
and that's contagious, and they did a really good job
of not of in the past has been spurred to that.
I felt like for the first time in a while
that there was sixty minutes of that and you felt
it throughout the game, and you know, those guys have
done an awesome job. Karen does a great job with
Brick of getting those guys ready to go, and you

(04:26):
can tell what they've played together now, you know what
I mean? For however, many games not only this year,
but even dating back to last year, and there's a
sense of comfortability with with everyone there, and you know
there's there's something to being said of you know, when
I'm in a block, I know what you're gonna do.
I know what that feels like. I know you know
when you're gonna come off of it or not, not

(04:47):
only the verbal communication but the physical communication that comes
all with people playing with one another for a while.
What you make of the game jamis last week Jamis
Jamis executes a game plan. You know, he was aggressive
when we need him to be. Uh, Obviously, there's always
going to be plays that you want back. You know,
for the most part, I didn't think he exposed the football.

(05:08):
There were a couple of times there where he got
a little hairy, but you know, he did a really
good job of executing the plan, getting sending out of
the right play, operating within the offense, and letting the
system work for him. He did everything he asked him
to do.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Receivers, I mean, all shapes and sizes. I think maybe
because of his size, Wan Dale gets pigeonholed as a
certain type of receiver. Has the season he had shown
you that he's like a legitimate every down, you know,
top two receiver on a team.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Yeah, I mean he's I think last week he played
every snap. So you know it's you know, it goes
to uh, you know, his toughness, his versatility, you know
his ability to to to not only run but went on.
You know, a wide variety of routes, and he's a
guy that constantly shows up for us when we need him. So, uh,

(06:00):
you know, to ans your question, Yes,
