Speaker 1 (00:00):
I just drove up for two days. Uh let me
say all right, Uh yeah, todays it was some good work.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
It was good to see another another team, you know,
try out the moves you've been working on and and
uh some of the techniques you've been working on on
somebody else that they don't know you.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
So it's been good, right, You feel like you have
to reactive day self saying the backfield a lot. Yeah
about your partus.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Uh, you know, I'm just trying to take my game
to the level it has never been.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
You know, that required me doing things I never did.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
So you know, I'm working with decks quite a bit,
talking to decks a lot, you know, just how to
manipulate body positions and and try to use my length
and power more and not just all my speed and infinitis.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
So that's been doing has been It's been good to
me so far. So we'll keep working on that.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
About yourself coming out of these two days, said anyone
like being able to learn things?
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Uh h, I mean outside of techniques. Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
I would just say, Man, I play my best when
them when I'm me, you know, uh, when I get
when I get my head and think.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
I mean that's anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
But when I get my head and things of that
nature and I think too much, that's not it's not
me being me, So, you know, just allowing my instincts
to kick in is where I'm thriving at right now.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Giants from look good, look good, so far.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
True tests me this week one though, so preseason practice,
joint practice all day cool. But but when when when
the bullets flying for real and the spotlight really on us,
that's when we need to show.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Were there times last year you thought you were thinking
too much? Huh?
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Last year where there are times you thought you were
thinking too much?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Out there?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
I mean that's every season I feel.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
I just feel like when I'm in my element, I'm
having fun, dancing around, not too tense.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
That's as me and my best that's all.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
How much all the how much do you think over
all the d things is going to be improved this
year with the additions, and how much is it going
to be a key to the team's success, Like always,
it's as far as we want to take it, you
feel me, you know, in rocket science, it's as far
as we want to take it. Like if everybody key
in doing their job, doing their one eleven, you know,
(02:16):
be in detailed and what they need to do. I mean,
I feel like the sky's the limit. Obviously, these guys
get paid to. That's that's our opponents. They get paid to.
They gonna make plays and things of that nature. But
if we got the mental resiliency and and uh, you know,
we stick to the process, I feel like we can
still we can still take this far.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
You know, much better? Do you feel like?
Speaker 2 (02:34):
You know you're talking about like when you get the
best to you out there is last year, we know
you were dealing with a lot of different stuff, Like
how much different does it feel?
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Now? Feels good? I feel good. I feel good.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Uh a little nicked up now, but I mean as
long as I stay on top of it, I'm not
I'm not going through that again.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
So I feel good fresh, you feel me. I feel
good healthy, everybody do. But I feel good condvance expect
to see almost like a even better version of you
because of that God.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Willing you know, I don't put no no expectations, predictions,
and then they got in the open.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
I'm just trying to, you know, enjoy the process.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
If I take care of anything that we're doing right now,
it'll show, it'll showing ways.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Right, What does it take as a pass rusher to
go from generating consistent pressure to actually finishing the plays.
There's so many variables that go into finishing the sack.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Like Coach Charlie always say, a sack is tackling the
quarterback behind line of scrimmage, But there's so many other
ways you can affect them, you know what I'm saying,
like batted balls, pressures, hits, anything, getting the quarterback head.
I mean, if I can harass them all day, I'd
rather do that than you know, get a freeb sack.
So to answer your question, it's just continuing to you know,
(03:49):
perfect your craft, worrying more so about beating the man
in front of you than the results of the play.
If you handle us in front of you first, you
know what I'm saying, You'll get to what you need
to get to. But you can't control every play that
he plays where the ball come out in one point seven,
You'll never get that, you know what I'm saying. So
you just need to handle your food that's on your plate,
you know what I mean. You've always been successful in
six years playing a certain style.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
What made you go to decks and try to incorporate
that into your game.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
You know, it's always been a battle, uphill battle with
me trying to you know, add that into my game.
But you know, Dex just wanted the best to do it,
and you know the way he does it. I mean,
obviously he has brute strength, but he's so much smarter
than that, you know, And like that's why I said
he's so he's such a he's he's a master at
manipulating body positions, you know, And of course it takes
(04:34):
strength to do that, but it also takes length and technique,
and that's something that he worked constantly. But when I
see him working it, and when he you know, expressed
that he wanted to, you know, help me in that area.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Why not everybody's trying to get better, you feel me?
Speaker 2 (04:47):
So I you mentioned you you're a little linked up.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Why are you practicing in full? Why not just kind
of manage it?
Speaker 2 (04:55):
And wait, hey, I don't know, man, That's how I
was It's the floord in me. That's how that's how
we was raised.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
I don't know. I just say if I can go,
I'm gonna go til I can't no more.
