Speaker 1 (00:00):
Would like when the the turnovers are kind of starts

(00:01):
snowballing like that. Yeah, they'll suck obviously, y you don't
win many games when you have five and you don't
get any on the other side of the ball. So
I felt like we had, you know, a lot of
opportunities where we were just moving the ball down the
field and then we would just hurt ourselves. So you know,
in the NFL, there's every team is a good team,

(00:22):
every team has talent, and I just I kind of
felt like we just kind of, you know, just kind
of just gave the game away by by those turnovers.
What happened on the uh?

Speaker 2 (00:33):
On the drop on yours?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Uh just fell out of my hand? What?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
What?

Speaker 1 (00:38):
What's the teaching moment here? Tuck the ball?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Has that ever happened me before? No? Do you feel
like you're progressing practice after practice, weak after week as
you're seeing more game actions by today's album?

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, I mean in time that you get more reps,
you're gonna get better. So you know, I think that
you know, I'm obviously I'm young, and and that can
be an excuse. So I I gotta continue to get better.
And uh, quarterbacks are are measured by you know, wins
and losses. So you know, I take that to heart
and UH felt like I I was, you know, kind

(01:14):
of the one who who should have been, you know,
putting our team in the better situation and to uh
you know, get a win in this game. Uh, I
mean what part? What what what you saw to throw? Like,
just what you saw that playing? What happened on that play? Yeah,
just slay one on one? You know, wish I could
have just put it a little farther out there. You know,

(01:34):
at the end of day, i'm'a give my guys a
chance to make a play. But yeah, I just wish
I just put a little farther out there.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Did you wait maybe a tick too long to let
a go?

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Or are you just under threw.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
A little bit? What was that? So I do a
little bit on the.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
You explained five straight turnovers? Do you think it? It was?

Speaker 2 (01:51):
It a thing where you when once.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
You start having a couple of kind of spiral that,
how do you how do you sort of pross that?
What do you make of it? I mean, it's not good,
So I gotta cut that out. And I think that
starts with me just being a leader. Obviously, you know,
some of those came from me, and you know, I
gotta be a better example. I gotta be a better leader.

(02:13):
And I think just in those situations, I can you know,
just talk to the guys in the huddle and you know,
just remind him about you know, ball security. So you know,
as a quarterback, I put that, I put you know,
those on myself.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Obviously it's hard to get beyond the turnovers, But what
did what do you take out of those first two
drives as you move forward trying to take something positive today.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Yeah, I'm definitely not into like moral victories or things
like that. I mean, I'm you know, it's it's a loss.
I don't really care what happened during the game. Yeah,
I mean after like the whole game, we moved the
ball just fine. We just had turnovers. Like there wasn't
many times where we just got stopped on a three. Now,

(02:56):
I mean we were I thought we were really getting
the open field. We just turned bader. Cause your obviously,
first of lost, your team's gonna look to you and
see how you reaction. What what do you play at
the show down in the next four days before the
next game. Oh, I'm just gonna work harder. I mean,
it's a long season. It's a a little different than college.
But you know, for me, I just gotta keep leading.

(03:18):
You know, I'm told as many guys I can and
in the locker room, this one's on me, and I'm
gonna get better. And you know, I expect myself to
play better in in these games and and to win 'em.
So yeah, I'm just gonna go back watch the tape,
you know, to see the things that I can clean
clean up on and be better for this team to
to win, you know, games that we play.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
What do you think this was?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
This was on you?

Speaker 2 (03:41):
I mean, you know, I know you had the to
turn up as any interceptions, but there were other people
that attributed to too.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Yeah, I mean I'm I'm the leader of the offense,
so I think that you know, anytime that those things happen,
you know, it kind of falls back on you know,
the leaders, and you know I take that responsibility and
I'm not gonna you know, just can't you continue to
have conversations with the guys and you know we're gonna
clean that stuff up.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Actually, you know, they being the young guy or being
a rookie and maybe some people would blow that off.
How how important is that for you to n to
hold yourself up to a higher standard or any that
someone might attribute to a rookie or someone you know,
is it a game?

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Yeah, I mean I've I've never cared about my age,
you know, coming into the NFL. I mean right now,
I'm I'm in the youngest quarterback in in the league.
But you know, I could give you know two crops
about that. You know, it's about winning, So I don't
take any excuse for age or you know, being a rookie,
Like there's a responsibility in your quarterback to go win games.
And uh that's just the standard that I helped myself too.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
You mentioned that this is in college any more. Take
me back to off the be practice a little bit,
the egg ball.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
How big that robbery was.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Or is there anything in those games that you saw
like kind of matches her like some NFL intensity at all?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Uh. I mean every game in the SEC is pretty intense,
but I would say the egg bull is, you know,
one of the bigger rivalries in college football. So uh,
I just think you know, kind of the physicality of it.
I think you can take that, you know, from college
the NFL for sure. How are your building publically good? Foot?

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Did you have trouble think is there really like okay,
let's take your stretching out of it.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
After you said that at believe Yeah, I'm okay.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Did you have trouble getting to play in?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (05:26):
On the your first interception?

Speaker 1 (05:28):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
When what down one where you can roll with you
right now?

Speaker 1 (05:32):
There's just some you know, extra communication that we were
just trying to get cleared up. Obviously it's fourth down,
so I'm I'm not gonna take a sack or I'm
not gonna, you know, try to m make a play.
You know, fourth down you gotta try to give you know,
somebody a chance and got out out of the pocket,
and you know, in in those situations, you know, just

(05:53):
try to put a little down in the field and
you know, my mind, that's just as good as a punt.
So try to just give my guy I got a
chance on on the fourth down.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
You guys, you talk about this week than just the
idea of now it's a short week. I don't know
how many short weeks you've ever played in your career,
but just in terms of your preparation, how much do
you have to accelerate that. How much more do you
have to do early in the week now as opposed
to maybe last week before.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Yeah, I mean I've played in in a short week
in college, the Egg Bowl. That's a quick turnaround, So uh,
I kind of understand, you know, kind of the timing
a little bit. But you know, good thing for me
is I have, you know, guys in the room who
have done it for a really long time, so, you know,
just trying to make a schedule and obviously it's a
it's gonna be a lighter week on on our bodies,

(06:41):
but uh, the communication has to be at an all
time high and got to make sure that everybody's on
the same page. So in these short weeks we can
you know, play as clean as we can
