Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jackson.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
What would it mean to you and to the organization
to finish up.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
The season with women.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Yeah, that's uh, it'd be big for us, you know,
not only just for us in this team this year,
we have one more opportunity to go out there and
play as brothers and and go compete you know against
a division team, division rivals. So it's gonna be huge
for us. And then at the same time, you know,
continue to carry momentum you've played.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
You I think you maybe good your first appearance against
the Cowboys, right, you have that first appearance, So does
it mean anything to you to just have a chance
to play against the Cowboys and kind of what they
represent and everything.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I mean, this is a huge division game, so that's
obviously you know, matters to me a ton and I'm
excited to go there and compete against them. For sure.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
Have obviously made a big name randering game like you
know watching World up.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Does that mean anything to you or just a division game?
I mean, it's another NFL game for me, so you know,
really excited for it. And the fact that it's the Cowboys.
You know, there's a lecture on too, for sure.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
How far back is that game seems like when you
watched it. I'm sure you went back and watched the
film Forever.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yeah, definitely feels like forever ago. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
Were the things that happened in that game that you
don't even remember?

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Anyone back and watch mmm. I mean there was just
some incredible plays at the very end of the game,
Rust Bald. You know, they played good in the final
minutes to win it for him. So I'm excited to
to get an opportunity to play against him again.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Does the season seem very long to you? I mean,
your first NFL season just longer than a college season.
Does it seem like it's you've got ready to end here?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
I mean, I would love to continue to keep playing.
I mean, I love football, and you know there's no
thought for me of, oh, I'm you know, hoping this
to be over. I want to keep going. You know,
it's gonna kill me to, you know, watch other teams
play while we're not. So I just had a ton
of fun competing this year, and you know, I just
I've loved the opportunity. It's it's just, you know, I

(01:59):
think for all of us it's a dream to to
have this opportunity to play a season.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Do you think you watch will you watch the playoffs
or do you tune it out?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I'll watch, I'll watch it.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
How would you sum up your your rookie season in general?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Well, first and foremost, definitely wish we we won more games.
So that's kind of just on my the forefront of
my mind up preparing, and then I think that at
the same time, I think I've done some good things.
I feel like, you know, I've had, you know, a
productive year, played at a high level, and obviously there's

(02:37):
a lot to continue to grow from and and take
strides on. But you know, I've been happy with with
some things, and obviously you want to clean up on
some other areas as well. You would you see from
the tape on Sunday that you liked the work from
the tape Sunday's tape? Would you like out of that everything?
I mean, we bald, So I thought we were in

(03:00):
rhythm and a flow and just played super productive football.
Jackson that there was.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
A video afterwards where you went up to Joe Shane
in the locker room and said something like, we got
to start doing this more often. What was that moment? Like,
what's your relationship like with joke because obviously he's upstairs
or downstairs.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I mean, Joe's very involved with all this players, so
you know, there's definitely a relationship piece. At the same time,
he's the person who drafted me and had a lot
of time with him during the draft draft process. So
I'm just excited for the for the future here and
I know they're gonna win a lot of games.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
What did you learn about yourself this year? The biggest
lesson you learned m M about yourself and playing in
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
Playing in the NFL. Number one, it's a week to
week season. It's a week to week league. In college,
it's like if you lose two or more than two games,
you're kind of out of it. And in the NFL,
you got to be able to bounce back quickly. So
that was probably number one, And then, uh, number two,

(04:02):
Like the biggest thing is if you don't capitalize on
plays at the very end of the game in crunch
time situations and the other team does you know, there's
a good chance that they might win the game. So
you got to capitalize on every single moment.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Yeah, I know, I understand the focus is the team
and winning, but I don't know, if you've had a
chance to think about it, what would Rookie of the
Year mean to you? Hm?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
I mean I haven't really thought of that too much.
I'm just trying to go out there and win games. Yeah,
I'm not not really thinking about that right now.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
To be honest with you, Jacks, when you look at
your you know, a week to week you say it's
a week to week league in your mind. When you're
looking at tape, I know you're getting ready for the
next opponent. How much is other than the bye week
a self scout for you or is this an off
season kind of thing where once everything calms down, that's
when you start making your checklist as the things you

(04:58):
want to improve or is that a day to day
thing for you that you do make that list for
yourself that okay, here's where I want to go this
week versus next week.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Yeah, I would say probably the day off during the
week is is kind of the day where you kind
of have more time to reflect on what you need
to improve on from the previous week. But like you said,
during the bye week, that's kind of the time where
it entels the whole, you know, the full picture of everything.
So uh, you know, I think at the same time
you try to just you know, take those opportunities in

(05:28):
practice to you know, whether it's an individual drills or
you know, just bringing out a list of like all right,
this is what I need to improve on today, because
so much of your time is obviously towards the very
next opponent. So I think I'm just continuing to evolve
and learn, you know, study habits, you know, throughout this year.

(05:50):
And it's been great to have Russ and Jamison in
the room to you know, at the same time hold
myself accountable and hold you know, as a room accountable.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
We issue a lot about it to beginning about Russian
Jamis being in that room, and now that we're like
basically get.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
To finish Signe, I'm curious what were you able to
learn from learn from them and like what ways were
they able.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
To support you and help you?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Geez, That's that's a loaded question because there's so much
I can't really just pinpoint just one thing. I mean,
I spend so much time, like extra time with them
every single day, you know, whether it's you know, we're
watching our own cutups together. You know, obviously you watch
film by yourself when you know, you go home or whatever,
but we spend so much time you know, as a room,
as as a group at the facility. And you know,

(06:34):
one thing that they've just been awesome with me is
is they've constantly been asking questions like, hey, you know,
what more can we give you in this area or
during the process of preparing for the games. So I've
just had, you know, an immense amount of respect towards them,
and you know, definitely B loves to have have those
guys is as leaders and you know, people who who

(06:54):
I really respect.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
The best power of experience, like the season as a
whole for.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
You you know, obviously just you know, week to week
being able to play against the best players in the world.
And you know, there's there's only thirty two teams, so
you know, there's there's not a lot and you know,
you're kind of like, you know, you're the one percent
of your professions, So just having that opportunity to go

(07:21):
out there against these great players, and you know, it's
just it's just been a lot of fun, you know,
just competing and you know, I'm just excited for for
the future to to continue to grow and you know,
I know it's it's it's gonna be a lot of
fun going forward.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Do you prove anything to yourself this year?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
I won't say I proved anything. You know, I'm confident
my abilities, so I know that you know, if I
prepared the right way that you know I'm gonna perform.
I'm gonna bounce back from mistakes, and you know in
situations I'm gonna thrive as well. So you know, I'm
just I just, you know, loved being able to play
at this level and continue to go forward.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
I know you have relationships with the receivers that you've
played with whole season, but Malik, you only played with
him for a half. The next game you're playing after
this one, ideally you'll be together. What do you look
forward to in that relationship with him?

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Yeah, well, for sure, you know, continue to be together
and light it up. So you know, I'm excited. You know,
those are conversations that we have a lot, and you know,
we're two of like some of the younger guys in
the entire league at twenty two, so you know, we
got a long future together and uh, you know, there's
gonna be a lot of great moments. And I know

(08:39):
that he's been attacking this recovery process, and he's going
to come back stronger and better, and you know he's
he's going to be hungry for sure.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Would you think if it's pancake commercial?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
I thought it was funny, Yeah, I mean, I.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Mean it's funny because it's like fantasy football. Yeah, but
that's sort of your reality too.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
I mean, so that Sting a little bit or.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
I mean definitely, I mean Sting's not to have him
out there, you know every I mean, he's an incredible talent.
He could beat anybody in the world. So when you
have a guy like that out there, he's he's a
he's a safety, you know, guy who's gonna come down
with the ball at all costs.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
What are you looking to get personally out of the
last game?

Speaker 4 (09:17):
I guess like to.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
You have a goal personal and group like anything that.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
You want to work on.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Wins number one, and uh, you know, just to take
advantage of the opportunity with with the team that we
have right now and the coaching staff that we have.
And you know, the the league is there's so much
movement from year to year, so you know, you never
know what's going to happen. How's it's going to shake.
So you know, I have a ton of respect for

(09:46):
the guys in this locker room and being able to
make great relationships with them, So you know, just want
to you know, give it my all for them and
and to take advantage of the opportunity that we have.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
You just mentioned you know you're a confident guy. You
don't think he was ever questioned your confident. That's Are
you more confident right now than you are the day
you walked in? And do you look at the league
right now and yourself and say I could be a
great quarterback in this league?

Speaker 2 (10:10):
Absolutely? Absolutely, you know that's the vision that I have
for myself. That's the expectation, and everybody here as the
highest expectation for that. So you know that's the environment
that I want to be in, This environment that I
want to thrive in. And I think that, you know,
I'm just going to continue to make strides done that

(10:31):
my entire career. And yeah, I'm just I'm just really excited.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
They're going to launch into a coaching search. I mean,
do you want to have any input in that or
what are you looking for in a coaching.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Well, you know, first of all, you know I've I've
really you know, enjoyed and have a ton of respect
for the coaching staff that we have right now. You know,
they work, you know, tremendously hard and we have great
relationships on and off the field. So you know that's
number one for me. Number two, you know, I just
I care about winning, so whatever that that takes. And uh,

(11:07):
you know I'm not I'm really just you know, just
focused on this last game. To be honest with you,
Jackson's just team fall off from turning it around next season.

Speaker 4 (11:15):
It's just team fall off from turning it around next season.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
No, I mean, we we got we got the pieces,
you know, We've you know, this is not an excuse me.
I mean obviously we've had a tough schedule and you
know we've been in really tight games where this season
could completely flip. So that's kind of just the league,
you know, is those one score games and who can

(11:39):
capitalize on those moments. And there's a lot of teams
who have great records right now where it could be
completely flip flip for them as well. So we got
a lot of talent, we have some good vets, and
you know, we have a ton of of young guys
who you know are are going to continue to thrive.
And you know, we just have I mean, I've said
this a lot, like we just have a ton of

(12:00):
excitement for for the future because you know, we know
what this thing can can do and how we can
flip this around.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
You guys, have you guys stayed together even you know
Obvioser with to loosen streak a lot. But how tight
has the lot that we've been.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
I mean, they're just the guys in there are awesome.
There hasn't been any like fall off from intensity and practices,
and I think that shows a lot about just like
the character that we have as a team. But you know,
at the same time, you know, there's there's a lot
where you know, you look on this year and you

(12:33):
can make sure that that doesn't happen, you know, going forward,
and we got to clean it up, and we've got
to prepare harder. We gotta have a great you know,
great habits. Moving forward is a teaming and grow our
relationship and and uh so we can win moving forward
