Speaker 1 (00:00):
You guys have started three straight games with a touchdown drive.
Can you took a little bit about your pregame preparation
with table, whether that's coming up with a script or
whatnot for however x number of plays, Like what do
you attribute getting off to such fast starts with me too?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yeah, It's just something that we talked about.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
On a daily basis, and it's such a big tone
setter for each and every game. And you know, it
was something in college that you know, you know, when
I played with coach Kiff, like he always elected to
have the ball, and so, you know, one of the
biggest things since I got into college was starting fast
and that's something that I really believe in. So, you know,
just trying to you know, push everybody to you know,

(00:38):
play fast and execute at a high level.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
You know, kind of early on in.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
You know, your first drives in games or you know
probably you know, some things that are out of the
arm or more like scheme based of what you're seeing
from a team. So you know, you kind of see
that all around the league, like games start out really
fast and it kind of slows down to teams able
to make adjustments. But it's definitely you know, really important
for us to get out to a fast start.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Which actually eat based you mean, like based on stuff
you saw a film, or like what's different about the
first Drive planet?

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah, I mean, well each team does it. You know,
it's not out of the ordinary. Every team does it.
So you know you have a different game plan each
week for whatever team's doing.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
And you know that's kind of just the plan.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Actually, you're down receivers, you're playing quality opponents.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
To schedules monsters, and yet you go into every game,
it seems with with this moxie, this confidence.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Could could you share with us what's that's all about? Yeah?
I mean, well, first of all, I have a ton
of confidence.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
And everybody that's here, and we work really hard on
a daily basis, we communicate at a high level and
we all have, you know, really good relationships. Obviously, you
know there were some guys that were beat up and
weren't able to go. But you know a lot of
these guys, like I haven't getting reps with you know,
you know, when I was on the scout team so

(01:56):
and all through camp. So I feel comfortable with them
out there and they're all really good players. So I
just you know, the biggest thing for me is I
have a ton of confidence and faith for my coaches
to go out and play at a really high level
each and every week.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
How would you describe a vibe around here off that
victory and you know, having one two out of three,
you're now a starter.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yeah, I mean obviously it's you know, we should have
won the three in a row. You know, it's something
that I look back on and you know, if we
don't have we could have won that game if we
had four turnovers. But you know, definitely just trying to
learn from those experiences, learn from the good and from
the bat of each of those games, and just trying
to prepare for for each week. But you know, I

(02:36):
think that you know, the vibe is just you know,
we're trying to set a standard in the locker room.
You know, we're trying to play tough. We're trying to
you know, win at all costs, so you know, guys
are coming to work with the right mindset.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
How much your sense it's different that you know that
you won a couple of games here, that you did
beat the Eagles if at all, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Winning helps it definitely, you know, puts more smiles on
people's faces. But at the same time, you know, this
is what you know as as as players, like, this
is what we come to work every day to do,
so we can't treat it as something that's surprising or
out of the ordinary. Like we work our tails off
to be able to go and win games, and you know,
if we slouch it all and in this league, you're

(03:16):
gonna beat So you know, we're just trying to prepare
the right way and just keep the main thing the
main thing.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Jackson, Jack talk about this defense. You're gonna fairy Sunday.
This is a very aggressive hippolitsan defense. Talk about the
challenges when you look at different film.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Yeah, I mean, obviously the sacks stand out as the
first thing, and you know, their ability to rush.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
The passer at every down, not just third downs.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
So you know, first of all, they're just coached really well,
and they play really well.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Together, they play really hard.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
So it's gonna be a really good test for us,
you know, one that you know, I think that we're
all you know, excited for, just because you know, in
my mind, I see them as as one.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Of the best defenses in the entire league. So you know,
being able to just go.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Out and compete, and uh yeah, they do a lot
of really good things and their coach really well.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Jackson, what do you think you've run the most from
that first road game that you want to try to
carry over to this game as far as just preparing
for the road crowd or you can miss.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
The Broncos seasons.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
You got to be able to weather the storm. Not
everything's going to be perfect. There's going to be mistakes,
there's going to be momentum shifts throughout every game. And
I think for us, just trying to weather all that
and you know, regardless of good things that are happening
or bad things, being able to reset each and every
play to try to put our team in the best situation.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Seems like there's a lot of energy after that last way,
And how do you carry that over into this week
with it being a long week.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
And all, you know, like I said, it's it's just simple,
just you know, trying to keep it the main thing,
the main thing. And like I said earlier, like we
understand that if we don't come to work the right
way with the same intensity, is the right mindset that
you know, we'll lose.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
So we have to we have to be detailed.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
We have to be committed and in persistent in our
study habits and being able to prepare for each team.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I think how comfortable you looked running the offense.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Can we talk about just like the evolution of that
of like fitting it to what your strengths and your
lives are. Yeah, I think that, you know, it's not
even as much just me, it's just the guys that
you know, we have on this team.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
And I think for a little bit, you know, we were
trying to find like a consistent identity and.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
You know, I think that we're we're not there yet,
but you know we're trying to, you know, get that
part down. And you know, we got a lot of
good guys, so just trying to you know, as a quarterback,
to be able to put the ball in their hands,
get the bottom of my hands early, and you know,
let them make place for me, and you know, definitely
just get our online going.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
How much ownership have taken of like what the offense
actually looks like, what you're running and you know, fitting
it to either your skill set or what you're comfortable.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Yeah, I'm I'm very vocal on you know, the things
that I that I feel comfortable with and then at
the same time, you know, I'm very open mind to
trying new things as well. So you know, these reps
in practice are huge, being able to stay after and
just get you know, walk throughs and and you know,
some throws on air with the guys.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
But you know, I think that I'm just trying to
you know, play efficient, you know, play.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Comfortable, and you know, just try to be as as
efficient I can.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Within the offense.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
What do you want that identity to be that you
mentioned you should you're trying to develop an identity, what
do you want it to be?

Speaker 3 (06:26):
I think for us, like, I think it needs to
start at the line of scrimmage. It has to start
with in our effort. You know how hard that we
play on on every down, regardless of things are going
good or going bad. If we're up by double digits,
down by digits double digits, Like, the mentality has to
stay stay the same. And you know that's you know,

(06:47):
things that you know we're just trying to you know,
talk about in the locker room.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
You know, we want to play tough as a team.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
So I think that you know, on offense and defense,
we're just trying to do our best to get that done.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Does anything intimidate you? Does does anything make you nervous?
Does anything keep you up at night? Well, you know,
this week we gotta we got a really good defense
to go against.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
So that's what's keeping me up and trying to just
prepare as much as I can.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Speaking of the one of his frimmage, What's what's it
been like working with Andrew Thomas Just how you've seen
him just trying to help make this transition through a
lot easier.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Yeah, I mean, big shout out to a t like
the level that he's been able to play at without
getting really any reps in camp and really just kind
of being thrown in there, you know, just just shows
like you know what kind of player he is. You know,
he may not be you know, comfortable all the time
just because of his reps, but he gives it all

(07:43):
that he got and uh, you know, I know that
you know the left side of my line and that position,
like I know that I can trust him and uh,
you know, his his leadership has been contagious, So it's
been great.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
To have him back. You said, you said you can
trust the left side more. Just what does that like
for you? Confidence.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
Why, I just having that trust in Andrew there knowing
he's you know, a wall basically.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Yeah, well, I see him as one of the one
of the or if not the best tackle in the league.
So that's just the confidence that I have in him,
and you know, I know that he's gonna go out
and ball at each and every week.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Jackson, speaking of your offense, one, you're some possibility you
might have a new starting center but JMS can't go.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
How big of an adjustment is that for you?

Speaker 3 (08:26):
You know, maybe there's like a few things, but quite honestly,
I probably had more reps with Schlowdi than I have
with JMS, just you know, through camp through preseason, and
you know, I have a lot of confidence and all
the guys up there. I feel like that we have
a ton of depth upfront and guys who can play
at a really high level and play well together. So
you know, obviously, you know, we're definitely hoping to get

(08:47):
JMS back, But at the same time, I know that,
you know, whatever the role is and whoever's out there,
I got a lot of confidence in those guys.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Adjustments like non verbal verbal accepting or thinking up.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I mean, it's just the next man up. That's it.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
Stavel was pretty open last year about giving neighbors some
saying like play calling and even personnel to a degree.
I'm wondering if you've felt that from him, both in
both regards like play calling and then also like little
Jordan Humphrey was up. You guys seem to have a
good connection in the preseason Juice Wells is back.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Obviously you have a good connection with him. I'm wondering
if you felt that empowerment.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
I mean, first of all, it's just cool to be
in an organization where everybody can cooperate and communicate with
one another, and you know, that's something that I'm really
thankful for, you know, just being here. So, I mean,
me and Daves have conversations all day every day about
you know, kind of what how he sees things, how
I see things. So there's definitely a lot of communication
