Speaker 1 (00:00):
What for you from the minute you got the pretty
nice ovation coming in at the game to throw in
three Touchdowess.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
There's a lot of fun. You know, it's been it's
been a little while since I've gotten some good time,
you know, to be able to go in there and play.
You know, the first preseason was two drives. Just about
last one was one drive. So you know, to be
able to have not a set amount of time, you know,
it felt good to be able to go out there
and play football game.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Are you thinking as you go out there, as you
go through the game at all, like this could be
the last time you're playing in front of these people?
Most teams don't keep four quarterbacks or does not not
even been enter your mind.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I think about that in the sense of every time
I go out on the field, you never know what's
going to be your last, you know, just having that
roller coaster like I've had in the past with injuries,
playing performance, whatever it is. So anytime I go out there,
I try to put my all out because you never
know when it is going to be your last.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Indeed, what was your reaction with Jackson had to come
out with the game with Jackson slide and had.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
To come out of the game work to work in progress,
and trying to help him out a little bit. He
seems like the type that's going to learn from personal experience,
so hopefully he will take that insight from today and
get better from there. But I knew he was okay.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Did you say anything to him?
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Oh? And he came back.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I let him know. I treat him like it's like
my little brother, you know, even though like we're not
that far aged, like it's not like that, but you know,
just trying to help him go over the bumps and
just talk to him really slide, like, dude, you don't
need to be taking these unecessarily hit like this, and
certain times in the game situations. Yes, I get it
be a ball player, but times like that just go down.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Tommy, You've been through a lot of lessons here and
really a short amount of time when that was a
long amount of time three years, And what did you
take from this experience in these last couple of months
and going into this weekend. You've been here before and
you've been uncertain about what the future of my whole
But what's different now than me, what's been in the
(02:03):
past for you?
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Here.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, kind of my similar mindset of you know, be
ready when your numbers called. You know, obviously how a
rookie year played out. Never kind of knew how that
was going to happen. It kind of happened how it did.
Last year, similar kind of thing get thrown in there,
so you've got to be ready to play. And then
this year it's kind of it's a little different because
I'm going on to your three of the offense, you know,
like I know it like the back of my hand.
(02:24):
I can do everything, get to any answer that I've
been taught from the coaches in the past two years,
like with ease. So it's really about just focusing on
the defense, not really worrying about the offense as much.
So I think for me it's just being able to
play faster. I feel like I was seeing it well tonight.
Guys were playing great. Oh lined did awesome. Really there
was nobody near me really at all, so made everything easy.
(02:47):
But is going out and executing and do what I do.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
You might be in a unique position here in the
coming days where you can have the opportunity to decide
your future a little bit in terms of maybe coming
back here as quarterback or in the practice squad or
going to another team where you could be a quarterback three,
quarterback two and try to fight your way up.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
What is important to you?
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Have you thought about that at all? Uh?
Speaker 2 (03:07):
No, not too much. I mean all my focus. Obviously
there's a lot of things like that weighing down as
the time gets closer. But for me, it was really
focusing on this game. Obviously, I've said it last year,
like any time you go out on the field, no
matter where you are, especially being undrafted, you're performing for
all thirty one other organizations as well, So it's important
to do that, but as well as be where your
feet are right now. This is where I am. So
(03:28):
that's what I'm going to continue to do each day
in day out, and then let my agent and everything
else handle itself. If that time were to come.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Obviously, talented quarterback room, if that happened to be your
last game here with the Giants, what does that.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Mean for you to do what you did?
Speaker 2 (03:44):
You know tonight, it means a lot, Like you said,
just the renovation, you know, like there's stuff from Jeryson.
You know, like if I was in if I was
in the stands, I'd be cheering for anybody who is
the hometown kid too, so it was appreciated. You know,
just go out and exequ see. Still things clean up,
but like I said, it felt good getting some getting
some time with two whole quarters to be able to
(04:06):
go out and play and just feel the energy, excitement
and love for the game again.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
M m hmmm
