Speaker 1 (00:00):
How do you personally approach this week knowing that you
know the game you might want to be focusing on
is still ways away. But as much as you put
focus on yourselves, I gotta imagine that, yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Starts kicking up a little bit. Yeah. I mean we're
definitely excited to get going.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Just trying to take it each day one at a
time and continue to get better, and then whenever game we.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Comes and Sunday comes, we'll be ready to kick off,
be ready to go. Russ has obviously been doing this
a long time. What have you learned from working with
Fast several weeks?

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Just the attention to detail, I mean everything whenever it
comes to ro else, he wants to know exactly where
you're going to be in certain spots, and he's just
gonna let you know exactly what he needs out of you,
which is definitely something that I feel like we've needed
and as all teams.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
How would you describe how you feel about the offense
after seeing what you saw during the preseason.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
I mean I feel confident.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I mean I think we worked really really hard this summer,
doing a lot of different things and getting a lot
of people involved, moving a lot of a lot of
different places, and I think seeing it out there in
those preseason games, you kind of saw, even if it
wasn't the starters, that it was just the standard that
was set just throughout camp.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
You've done table a long time now, for a couple
a couple of years here. Do you feel like this
team is closer to his personality than maybe something the
past time.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
I mean, I guess you could say that it's definitely
all of you could say his guys now, I guess
you could say so. I mean, I definitely think we
all have similar mindsets and at the end of the day,
I just want to go out there and.

Speaker 5 (01:30):
Win one Drew. Now what else?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Matchups like, oh, I mean, they're fun.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
A little bit back whenever you were at Kentucky, he
was a younger guy at the time, but he's definitely
came into his own and I'm really really excited to
see how he plays this year. He gives me a
handful of problems during camp. He's like a little little pest,
I like to say, but no, he's he's a really
really good ball player.

Speaker 5 (01:53):
Though, well was he that way in Kentucky? He told
us that you guys didn't really match up against each other.
But what was that like seeing him as a young pup's.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Exactly, it was like, Okay, this kid's really athletic, just
really waiting to see what he can do once he
actually gets his opportunities out there on the field. And
then obviously made the most of him and he got
a AR so I'm happy to hear too.

Speaker 5 (02:10):
He didn't so he didn't really go up against.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Him, not too much.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
He was on the scout team doing those kinds of things.
But obviously now he's definitely grown into one hell of
a player.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
And then this year last started last year when you
saw him and kind of be like, I got something
for you.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
You can't get that sense?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
I mean, yeah, a little bit. I mean we were
definitely going back and forth. He was like, I'm not
the same kid I was in Kentucky and that that
I saw at least. But it's been definitely great to
go and get something the past two years.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
One day you talk about Russ the attention to detail.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Some of the guys have said several individualized text messages, Uh,
you know, the idea of I think at one point
Dream told the story about you kind of snapped at
him when he wasn't necessarily running on that in Texas.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Uh what have you said?

Speaker 5 (02:58):
So something with to point too that you know to
you together?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
I mean should anytime I'll run around, I'm always gonna
ask him like, hey, was that good for you? And
so just always make sure that we're on the same page.
But we haven't had anything I guess you could to
say to that extent. I always try to make sure
I'm doing the right thing running to the ball.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
But yes or no.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
I mean it's just like I said, the attention to detail,
just the want to be great is.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Exactly what you get out of I thinks I'm getting
used to be walking off the field this preseason with
the thirties off the scoreboard.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
I mean yeah, I mean it won't take some getting used.
We'll be happy for it, no doubt. But yeah, no,
I mean we came in the locker room after each
game it was like, this is what we want after
each game. We want to come in here happy, scoring
thirty points with a win.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
So do you think you.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Can do that?

Speaker 2 (03:40):
I use the south that's capable of hit that bench park.
I mean yeah, I think so.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
At the end of the day too, we still got
to go out there and prove it and go out
there and points of what has been.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Your biggest take away at the Dart preseason.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
He's got some moxie to him. I mean, it's just
really excited out there to watch him play. It looked
like he was all in command and knowing exactly where
he needed to go with the ball.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
A couple of the older receivers that we were talking
just like.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
This, this is gonna be a pretty good, pretty good
quarterback once he knows exactly every all the checks and
knows everything going on, it's gonna be really really exciting
for him.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
You've known, you've been here with Tommy since since the start.
What have you seen from What do you see from
him in terms of the growth as a quarterback? What
do you see him as a quarterback?

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Now?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
I mean, he's just grown ever since he's gotten there.
I remember whenever he first got here, it was like
this dude doesn't know anything going on with this offense.
He's really quiet. But now, I mean he's probably the
most experienced one in that quarterback room with knowing the offense.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
But yeah, he's just grown grown.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Up a lot, and I'm excited for Tommy with all
the opportunities that he gets and I hope everything works up.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
He's been the fourth guy here this summer right in
regards to you know, in mind like when we gets reps,
who knows what happens here in the next couple of weeks.
But how much do you feel like he's shown that
he can play, see that he's a good heat quality
quarterback In this.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Segue, I mean, I think if you go back for
the past couple of years, from whenever his rookie year
playing on that Monday night, and then even last year
having to play a couple of games, and even everything
that he did through this preseason, I think there's plenty
of tape out there this shows that he could play
in this league.

Speaker 5 (05:16):
Or how do you feel about his competitiveness.

Speaker 6 (05:18):
I know able to talk about him not sliding and
you know all that, but what do you feel about
just him being that that firey guy where you just
want to take those heads.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yeah, I mean we love it. I mean, obviously you
want your quarterback. You want to be able to run
through a brick wall for your quarterback, And when he's
doing things like that, it's like if he's going to
do that for us, I mean, honestly, we'll go out
there and do anything for him, So definitely.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Want him to slide some more. He came over the sideline.
We were all over there, like, slide. You do not
need to be taking these hits.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Uh, But yeah, no, I'm I'm just ready ready to
see him plays.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Too long ago, you had that rookie head spin, right, Yeah,
so what how impressive is it that he hasn't seemed
to have that?

Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, I mean, it's it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
I just like I said, like you just said, I
remember whenever I was a rookie and everything's just going
for a loop and everything's in circles. But now he's
looked really, really great out there in those games. And obviously,
I mean, I feel like he's making the right reads.
I don't know the exact breeds of all the quarterbacks,
but he looks like you knows exactly where he has
to go with the ball.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
And putting it in the right places. Thanks it pretty goody.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Like I said, I think he's doing pretty well.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Obviously.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
You talk to guys every year. It's always a tough
time for a locker room. You guys spend months together.
What what's your perspective how has it changed over the
last couple of years. I mean, I think you're a
young guy. Imagine we're not really sure about to expect,
But how do you approach see some younger guys who.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Might I mean, whenever guys are like I don't know
how I should feel, or it's kind of like just
kind of have to control what you can control. At
the end of the day, our jobs aren't in the
hands of us. They're in the hands of the guys
up upstairs. So just doing what you can to control
whatever it is with your situation, just trying to.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Make the most of it, most of it. From there?

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Is that always the weird just practice of the year
That Wednesday after after coaching, you guys.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Walk out here and yeah that Tuesday and Wednesday Tuesdays whenever,
like it feels like nobody's out here. It's just us
and obviously just a way smaller team. It just feels
really really weird.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
