Speaker 2 (00:44):
I'm Wendy.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
I'm a former Hallmark hater.
Speaker 1 (00:47):

want to see. We plan on sharing that you know
what out of that event.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
We can't wait. We booked it fourteen.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Months ago, so the fact that it is finally a
month away, I can I'm so excited. I'm very excited.
I'm just wondering, like do the listeners want? Is like
tracking down the Hallmark celebs.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Do they want? Like, I'm not gonna be that person.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
You're not gonna be like.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Hygienk music behind me as I like, don't, don't, don't,
don't don't. Maybe we can be like Christmas Jammy's creeping
around the corner. I was gonna say, maybe we could.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Borrow Jody's like cape and hat for maybe we need
a wig.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Maybe we need a wig. I'll wear the black one.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
You can wear the heiress and the handyman one. Okay, hey,
jump into our girls go on Hallmark Facebook group. Not
a whole lot of people talking about this collection of movies.
It makes me really wonder how many people have Homemark
plus hmm. Or maybe they're just not interested in the
(02:28):
Jaine mysteries.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yeah, I don't. I don't know the answer to that.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
I think we'll have a we should take a poll
on our Instagram story. I was gonna do that and
in our Facebook group, but I was also thinking we
might have a better idea when the Groomsmen come out
and see how many.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
People are talking about that.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, because people not even really talking about Love on
the Danube a whole lot either. No, but that post
on our website. They're curious, they're curious, They're curious about it.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
We will be reviewing all three Groomsmen movies here on
Girls Gone Hamewark. We did drop a full schedule October
November December, including Fall Countdown to Christmas, Miracles of Christmas,
and just a tiny bit of Hallmark Plus content. We
are two people trying to do it all, but the
grooms Wind is included in our upcoming reviews.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
What is missing from it is the Mistletoe murders.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Correct, Aura, a Tea Garden is missing. We're not doing
the Jonathan Bennett finding Mister Christmas. We're also not doing
the Cherry Lane trilogy right, and we are also not
doing there's another four Christmas movie release that we're not doing.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
We just can't. We can't do it all. We can't
do it all. There are not enough days in the week.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Here's my thought, though, the Cherry Lane movies will come
to linear.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yeah, maybe it'll be like a Christmas in July drop.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah. I think if we just put a pin in those,
I they're gonna come to the Hallmark channel either in
July or they will show them next count on the
Christmas But I think it's gonna be lie yeah, and
maybe we'll review them then if there's a movie that
we are missing, you are dying to hear a review
for there are months after December was an email let
(04:10):
us Yeah. I always feel weird about like putting out
a review for a Christmas movie after countdown the Christmas ends,
But then I forget that a lot of people like
DVR these or I watched them on I was gonna
say Hallmark Movies now on Hallmark Plus or whatever. Also,
I think you need to keep in mind that a
lot of people are listening to reviews having not just
immediately watched the movie, or they're listening to reviews for
(04:32):
movies that they.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
Have watched in the past.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
So I don't think a review needs to necessarily drop
immediately after the airing of a movie to be relevant.
Let us know what you think on all of that.
Let us know your thoughts on dropping movies outside of
the season in which they've premiered, et cetera.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Uh yes, are we ready to move on to talk
about the Jane Mysteries Too much to lose?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Can I tell you?
Speaker 1 (04:55):
First of all, I turned on Hallmark Plus to watch this,
and I I opened up the Jane Mysteries like collection
and I just hit play because I had watched the
other two, and it started playing.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
The Jane Mysteries. Inheritance Lost the very first movie, which
I didn't know. I mean I I didn't know. I
didn't have the names of these movies memorized, let's be serious.
And so I'm watching it and at the very beginning
of that movie, Steven who's on our shows up and
she doesn't know who he is, and he like introduces himself.
I'm like, maybe this is a flashback, and then he's
like telling her about the death of her uncle and
(05:28):
how her inheritance is his detective agency. And I was like,
I think, perhaps I'm watching the wrong movie.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Why did you get in here? Five minutes?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Okay, okay, So then I did watch the correct movie.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Yeah, but I was like, oh, I kind of want
to go back and watch the Jane Mysteries or so
do you.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (05:47):
For a synopsis I am while preparing for the children's
hospital Gala, Jane de Silva investigates the disappearance of a
journalist who vanished after winning a game with Detective John Cameron.
Jane uncovers a dangerous world of blackmail and fraud.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Marco Dephemia returns as a director, having directed all four
of the Jane movies along with The Heiress and The Handyman.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Neil Kimmel is back as the scriptwriter. She penned all
of the Jane movies except for Murder at Mosby.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Jody Sweetened plays Jane to Silva. Fun fact.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
Jody wrote her memoir Unsweetened, a memoir published in twenty ten.
This Weekly called it explosive, and Ian Line described it
as brutally honest as she shares her journey through addiction
and recovery.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
I'm kind of interested in listening to it because that's
how I consume books. But yeah, I'm kind of She's
very open about she's living us as a sober person,
as a sober person now, but she's very open about
and she's on her fourth husband and how she she's like,
I'm done, this is it? Yeah, I know she is
(06:59):
a frequent ish guest on a talk show you listened
to regularly. Anyway, I kind of want to listen to.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I think I do too. Added to the list.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Next year twenty twenty five. Stephen Who's Our plays Detective
John Cameron. We've discussed how much we really enjoy him
in this dry gruff detective role. And as I look
through his resume, I saw that he has appeared in
several of the Ruby Herring Mysteries. Hmm, and I wonder
if those are worth checking out. I need listeners to
(07:31):
weigh in. Is it the same Stephen Who's are We're
getting hair in these movies? I had heard in our
Facebook group that they loved him there, Oh Piping hot
Tea Girls Gone hamemark at gmails dot com. Email us
your thoughts on Stephen Who's are on the Ruby Hearing Mysteries? Uh?
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Paris Jefferson returns as Sadie Da Silva.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
Serry Miller plays Irene slash Ida. Cherry has ninety eight
acting credits, having appeared in Family History Mysteries, Buried Past,
five More Minutes, as well as Shane's Mom and signed
Sealed delivered the vows we have made.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Remember how great she was in that role.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
Yep. Miller will appear in the forthcoming Hot Frosty on Netflix,
also starring one Lacy Schebert.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Troy Blendelle plays Edgar Samon. Troy has fifty one acting credits,
which include from Friend to Fiance, Returned to Christmas Creek,
and A Nutcracker Christmas for Homark. Are you familiar with
any of those movies? Wasn't A Nutcracker Christmas? The Christmas
in July?
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Drop?
Speaker 3 (08:39):
That was Operation Nutcracker? Oh?
Speaker 2 (08:41):
I apologize then the answer is no?
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Okay. Victoria so Wall plays Margaret. Victoria has fifteen acting credits,
and outside of one episode of The Good Witch, this
is her first movie for Hallmark. She has also appeared
in the series Why the Last Man, which probably needs
to be added to our BINGO card. At this point,
it's been a frequent flyer. Monica Rodriguez Knox plays Sophie.
(09:05):
Monica has eighteen acting credits, including a recent appearance in
Hallmark's Falling in Love in Niagara. Jessica Beehan plays Angela
with eighteen acting credits. She has appeared in several Hallmark
esque projects, However, this is her first Hallmark movie. James
Jeris plays Craig. This is his first project for Hallmark. Hey,
Kiwi the Cockatil plays Perry the Parrot. I like the
(09:27):
alliteration on both of those. I tried to see if
Kiwi the cockatail, Kiwi the cocka teal cockatoo not. I
think cockatial. There's two different kinds of birds. I think
cockatil is a bird. I was looking to see if
they have like an Instagram, a social media presence, could
have put in anything. What was your first impression of
(09:59):
too much to I'm so sorry, but this is the
weakest of the bunch.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Oh, I like your game show, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
My first impression is was Stepan, who's our listening last week?
Speaker 2 (10:13):
When we said take your shirt up? Listen? That as
the only highlight in this movie for me.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
Wow, this was the out This was the what's the word?
Speaker 2 (10:26):
This was the cream of the crop for me.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
I just did not find the story that compelling. I mean,
I think I watched it like four times, still laughing
at my game show sound effect. That's the only that's Look.
I'm not good at puns. I'm way too literal for them.
I never come up with them.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Whenever someone does it I'm like, oh, so I didn't
actually think the pun work in this movie was all
that great. Yeah, However, I did like that they staged
this fake game show in Flash.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
I thought that was fun. Okay, it was fine.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
It was fine, Okay, I mean, we need to talk
about you just skimmed right over this shirtless scene.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
It was great. What more do you want to say? Well,
take your shirt off more, Steven. Here is what I
was thinking.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
It's a real rare treat that we get a shirtless
dude in the Hamewark right, And I was like, oh,
wait a minute, is this what we're doing over on
Hallmark Plus.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Now we don't have a TVG rating, so we can
do whatever we want.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Maybe I don't.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
I'm gonna be honest, I don't think so. Hallmark doesn't
want to lose that family friendly label. He was changing
his clothes, I know he was, and he was just like,
let me stop shirtless to have this conversation with you.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
It's just funny. I thought, maybe they're just pushing the
boundary on Hallmark Plus a little bit. Perhaps, I look
I like eye candy.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
So I loved it, and I thought it was real
funny considering last week you were calling so hard for him.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
To be I mean, less us set it once.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
You Know what I really liked in this movie is
that the last two Jane reviews, I didn't really understand
Jane's role at the Foundation and what the foundation did. Remember,
I was like calling her a PI or a detective
or like whatever she is. Well, they she kind of
mentioned it again in this movie.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
They take on cold cases.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
It's a foundation for riding wrongs. Uh huh so yeah,
cold cases or like people who are in trouble for
things that.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
They shouldn't Innocence Project Hallmark Edition.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Exactly exactly for me, this is kind of a wish,
but it's here. I think there's more potential to explore
cold cases than like current missing person cases.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Well, and that's how the first movie. That was the
angle of the first movie, right, that boy was a
deadly prescription. Yes, correct, good job, thank you. I never
would have gotten there.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
Yeah. I kind of like that better.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
So do I. Because Jane is not a skilled professional,
she's an amateur hour. She's like me trying, like literally
me who has zero skills in solving.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
A case detective skills.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
Sure, And I'm like out on the streets, like following.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
People like no that I mean you and Goldieberry and
Hannah Swinson.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
It drives me crazy.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Okay, here's another reason why I think the cold Case
angle is better because I know it's a running joke,
but like, how many people can die in the presence
I happen to note, like someone very close to my
family was murdered. That is a unique situation. I don't
think many people are aware of murder happening around them. Yeah,
(13:56):
constantly in the way that like we said, like the
Curious cater or the hand someone's always dying this way.
This stuff happened in the past. Someone's not dying every
month on you.
Speaker 3 (14:07):
Yeah, and make her more of an internet sleuth, mmm,
you know, doing the hard work on the Yeah. The
person doesn't need to be somehow connected to you. These
events don't necessarily need.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
To happen in and around you all the time, exactly
as a level of believability, exactly.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Two other things I liked. I have to admit I
do enjoy Jody Sweetens singing in these movies.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Yeah, she's got a great voice, she really does.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
I think it's fun, and I like how they change
it ever so slightly in each movie. The style of music, yeah,
which she's performing or whatever. And there was one real
LOL moment for me in this movie and this It's
(14:55):
when Detective John is changing his clothes and Jane jody
As says like, I'm here to give you fashion advice
or something like that. And I just got a real
chuckle out of that. Because we've talked about the wardrobe
choices for her.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
I thought she I thought it was much better in
this movie.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Yes, but in this one particular scene that looked like
she was wearing like a two piece matching set that
looked like pajamas. But I think we're a regular outfit.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
A lot of pencil skirts in this movie, did you notice?
Speaker 3 (15:25):
I did notice? I mean on the women.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
Yes, we did not get who'sar in a pencil skirt?
Speaker 3 (15:38):
All know?
Speaker 2 (15:39):
It was the nan has has the what do we
call these? I don't know what those are called.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
When they make me sweat a little bit, it was like,
b those that be.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
He's got the abs for it's all inste.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Speaking of abs, side note, I saw an instagram from
one bj Britt, who is going to be yeah in
the Groomsmen and on our cruise.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Speaking of people you'd like us to hunt out.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Look, I want to put it out there because in
case anybody at Hallmark or a Hallmark adjacent listens to this,
we are absolutely not going to be those people. No,
we're going to be the most well behaved members of
those cruise.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
So bj puts out this video on his Instagram. It's
like it's I don't know if it's a real or what,
but like he's got a kind of a low cut
shirt on and he's smiling. He's got this great smile
and it's kind of slow motion. And can you please
read my comment that I left from our Girls Gone
homemark accounts?
Speaker 2 (16:44):
Okay, hold on, anyone else, peep those pecks.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
Sorry, I cracked myself up at six Sturt this morning,
but it was a nice little window into his chest.
I'm just reading the other comments, one from James Vaughn, who's.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Jonathan Bennet's husband, Oh says, look at you.
Speaker 3 (17:08):
I wonder if he's gonna be on the cruise.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
He's got to be right.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Oh, that'd be so fun. Do you ever watch their
content like he posts videos? Because Jonathan Bennett is like
a Carnival cruise ambassador and so he posts like funny videos.
Sorry I got distracted there. I think I'm done with
my likes, so I just have one more. Last week,
you mentioned that you wanted to see a little more
(17:31):
forward progress with Wendy's rolling her eyes.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
It's in my wishes, but go ahead.
Speaker 3 (17:38):
Well, I actually thought we got some for it's a series.
They cannot get them together. They're Ross and Rachel. I
don't know what you want from them. They wish they
were Ross and Rachel jan it's the Ross and Rachel prototype, right,
it's the will they are won't they obviously? I mean
Tom and Goldie finally got together, but it took.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Them a while.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
They had a real they're like arguing back and forth
where he doesn't want it to go put herself in danger,
and he's like, I just need you to be safe.
They're like yelling back and forth at each other. But
she's like, I'd love to be safe so I can
go on many dates with you. Yeah, And then, like
he had clearly told his niece, she's like, you're right,
she is pretty.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
It's a fondu wishous so you can yell at me.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
No. Look, I appreciate the attempt at the if we're
gonna call that flirting? Did you say him given in
the eyes when he's like shirtless and changing his clothes.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Yes, I did.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
But I'm getting zero chemistry from these two. We just
watched The Real West and talk about the fire a
masterclass in on screen chemistry. Yeah, So I'm like, is
it is it what they're working with here or do
these actors just can't convey that or what's happening because
(18:54):
I'm out at this point. I'm just like over rooting
for them, Like I get what you mean, Like this
is a series and we kind of have to string
it all along just so we can like keep tuning
in to see if they're gonna but like I'm I'm
over it. Yeah, I actually really liked this movie. I
was like, I could watch three more Jane Mysteries after
this one. I probably could too, but you need more.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
I need something one of my wishes.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
I was literally screaming at the screen it's bika boo, mmm,
I knew what you figured it? A password was oh yeah.
When Perry's like biek a boo big a boo. Oh yeah,
She's like what could the password be? And then they're
like ida tells her. It's just like, oh, she always
loved her games. It would definitely be something obvious, and
(19:43):
Perry's like, peek.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
A boo, Let's play peek a boo. I'm like, oh
my god, Jane, get the past her.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Jane is not a detective ding ding Ding That's really funny.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
So didn't you think though this movie.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Had way too many characters in it?
Speaker 2 (19:58):
That's every Hallmark mystery for me.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
I really dislike it, dislike it, but is that every mystery?
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Though? Do you gotta have a red hair? Lots?
Speaker 3 (20:10):
But my brain just like short circuits, Like that's why
I've had to watch this movie, like telling you four
times since. I think I think the appeal of the
mystery series is like once you're this far and.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Like, we know Jane, we know I don't even know
that's detectives name?
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Is it?
Speaker 2 (20:27):
Mark John? John?
Speaker 3 (20:29):
We know Sadie, Like we know these people, so we're
not getting to know them, and so I think maybe
that made me more open to understanding these characters. But
I will tell you that I don't have a memory
for names, So when they're talking about someone, I'm like, oh,
I don't I don't know who they're talking about you
need like a little cheat sheet on the screen. When
(20:49):
they're like Sophie is doing this, I'm like, which one
Sophie's well, because all those women, not that they kind
of look the same, but they all were women of
same age, same length of hair, different hair colors.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
But still like I was like, who is this?
Speaker 3 (21:05):
I agree, I am Drew, I am Danny.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
We are not the same.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
It's a TikTok No. I don't know that. I don't
know what the sound is from. It's just a TikTok trend.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
I have one more dislike, you've totally changed the segment name.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Straight up, I don't like it. Wish Wish wish. I'm
so sorry.
Speaker 3 (21:32):
I have one more wish real missed opportunity with Jane's
dead mom storyline, Where did that go? Like I get
that you need like something in each like episode, but
there was like nothing, no, not even no mention of
it in this episode. And I just think it's unfortunate
(21:53):
because I thought that they teed it up really well
in Murder at Moseby, but it wasn't written by the
same person, and so I guess is like the directive
has to be like just add a little more heat
with these two because there's other there's no tie in, right,
there's no connection to murder at Moseby. Really, the only
(22:15):
way that we know that it's further along is like.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Jane and the detective are flirting. I forgot it's John. Yeah,
that's the only Yeah. This and Sadie's hair is.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Shorterer in whose hair Sadie?
Speaker 2 (22:30):
She cut her hair? Oh, I didn't notice that.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Yeah, Sadie cut her hair. But other than that, there
is no connection. And so you are exactly right.
Speaker 1 (22:37):
I because I didn't do the notes on this, I
didn't realize that they had a different writer. And it
makes perfect sense why they wouldn't have continued that storyline,
but real missed opportunity.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
This series, for me is lacking like a through line,
something that's gonna connect it. That's why I say I
don't care about the uh huh John and Jane storyline
that much. I would have liked more of the mom like,
just some information. Let this be running in the background.
How about did you see that I have one and
it's a non traditional did you see that?
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Okay?
Speaker 3 (23:13):
There is not one single user or critic review for
this movie on IMDb.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
It has been out almost a week.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
You know, I had noticed that about last week too, actually,
when we were recording. I think it speaks to the
volume of Hallmark Plus viewers.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
Yeah. Also you know what I think?
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Well, I was going to say, like, I sometimes feel
like people who are critical are more likely to leave
a review, and I think Hallmark Plus users might be
Hallmark super fans and therefore.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Less likely to leave a review. I also think this
is my last opinion on the subject, that the streaming
user is a younger demographic and the person who is
likely to leave an IMDb review is an older demo.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Me. No, I leave IMDb reviews. You do reviews. Okay, well, yes,
boomer are you? I'm not a boomer.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
I'm gin xby me too.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
Man, the skin of my teeth? Did you have any
did you see that? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (24:17):
So I thought you would appreciate this one. Irene in
her text to Craig calls him Craig instead of Curly,
And to me, that was a real Donna saying Dave
moment when she's being attacked and held like hostage behind
the door and she's like, I'm fine, Dave. And David
Silver knew that was the clue that she was not.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
In fact, fine, she's reverencing Beverly Hills nine er two
and zero. Yeah, if no one is familiar, But yes,
that was I remember that scene clearly.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
We later learned that that happens because Irene wasn't the
one who wrote the message, so it wasn't like a clue.
But that's what I thought of in that moment, and
just a thought. There's a moment when the amateur sleuths
are in Irene's how and they refuse to turn on
the light, but they're straight up touching all of her
mail and unrolling it.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
And granted they're like using tools to move it around,
and I thought, we're still disturbing evidence here. You can't
turn on the light switch with your elbow, but you
can touch over mount. Yeah yeah, why'd you rate this
two and a half stars?
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Me too? Me too.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
I had to go back and look at my other
ratings too, because of the three we watched, I like
to Murder at Bosby the best mm hmmm, followed by
a deadly.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
Prescription I think that's what it's called. And then this one.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
So I am gonna be honest, I have no idea
how I rated the other two and how this compared
in my ratings, because it's like an in the moment,
pure vibes decision. Of course, always I think I think
this series, and this is my opinion. I think the
(25:57):
series could do well. I think they need to change
up the writers and the directors on it. Okay, just
flip it on its head a little.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Bit, Yeah, shake it up. Yeah. Hey, thanks for.
