Now here's your host, davidYancey.
Hey, this is the Glory CulturePodcast Show.
Wherever you are, thank you fortuning in.
Well, I certainly hope you'vebeen keeping cool, because for
(00:27):
us out here on the West Coast ithas been the frying pan.
I believe in the next few dayswe're supposed to farsher past
the 110 degree mark here inCalifornia and many other places
out here on the West CoastArizona, as always places,
(00:47):
things are heating up, so staycool.
But hey, today on the GloryCulture Podcast Show, I want to
talk to you about prophetic actsand prophetic action and how
many things that we do, whetherit's intentional or it just so
happens that it took place infront of us, or something that
(01:08):
we consciously did, or somethingthat even the Lord prompted you
to do, is in fact a propheticact either prophesying something
over yourself, over a region,or just sowing a prophetic seed
into the atmosphere to manifestby faith.
Many different things that we do, whether or not we realize it,
(01:31):
have prophetic implications.
Right, and, of course, toprophetic people, everything's
prophetic.
Some people can't go to thestore without interpreting the
road they're driving on.
You know, and I heard BillJohnson say that once.
He made that joke and he saidyou know, somebody's holding a
broom, it's prophetic.
Somebody's driving a Chevy,it's prophetic.
And then, of course, he went onto say I'm breaking my own rule
(01:53):
here.
I got to tell you what I sawand this was prophetic and it's
just.
It's funny because we can dothat.
We can.
You know, people like myself, people that are very
prophetically minded,prophetically gifted, can do
that.
We can turn something intosomething that it's not right.
But that's not what I'm talkingabout today.
I'm not talking about, like youknow, by faith we're going to
(02:18):
call this forth prophetically.
I'm talking about actual actionthat is prophetic and how you
can do that and what the Lordwill prompt you to do.
And so many times we do thingswith our tongue and with our
actions that prophesy negativityof ourself, which is not what
(02:40):
the Lord wants you to do.
People speak word curses overthemselves all the time when oh
well, I'm probably going to getsick, oh well, you know, I was
going to go for this promotion, but it's probably not going to
be me.
What we're doing is we'reactually releasing and seeding
the atmosphere withcounterintuitive things, counter
(03:01):
the counterfeit of theprophetic.
You know, the Bible says thatlife and death are in the power
of the tongue, and so a lot oftimes what we do is we release
death through what the world hasdeemed humility.
Right, I mean, you want toapply for this job and according
to the world, the humble thingto do is to be like well, you
(03:24):
know, there's so many goodcandidates is probably going to
go to, you know, joe Green overthere.
You know he's probably going toget it.
And then people will go, ohyeah, oh man, I'm sure you're
going to get it, and they feelprompted to patch you on the
back.
Why?
Because we've said somethinghumble, versus somebody says, oh
(03:46):
shoot, I got that one in thebag, you know.
Say, oh, this guy needs alittle dose of humility in his
life.
But what does the Bible actuallysay?
Now, I'm not talking aboutwalking around and being a
narcissistic jerk, but I amtalking about circumcising the
tongue, as in, don't releasenegative words over yourself,
(04:06):
don't come into alignment with aBabylonian system, which is
false humility, constantlysaying like, oh, I'm not going
to get it, but I'm just happy tobe along here.
That's, that's being an E ornot being a victorious in the
Lord.
And this, this show, is notabout talking about, you know,
(04:29):
speaking blessings over yourself.
That's not what we're going totalk about today.
But I do believe that eventhose little things that you
release are prophetic in nature, because you're calling forth
something.
It's either destiny or death.
So be very careful with whatyou're calling forth, especially
as a spirit filled believer, because your words are always
(04:53):
going to be mingled with thepower of the spirit so you can
actually create things.
So what are you creating withyour mouth?
What are you creating with yourbody?
The prophetic acts that you do.
So what am I talking about?
Prophetic acts?
Well, you know, we see somereal commitment in the Old
(05:15):
Testament specifically, but allthroughout scripture and to this
day, of the Lord promptingpeople to do something.
It's absolutely bizarre, illogical and even offensive to
people with no prophetic vision.
I'm talking about, like Isaiah, walking around for three years
(05:37):
naked, you know, as a sign and awonder to the nations of what
was about to take place to them, you know.
So what am I saying?
Should I?
Am I saying that we should alldo that?
Absolutely not.
I'm telling you this if theLord, jesus Christ, doesn't
appear to you and say that, thenthen don't do that.
But these actions were propheticin nature.
(06:00):
You know Ezekiel, he cookedwith dung, cooked his food over
a pile of dung as a sign as towhat things the culture was like
to the Lord in the land youknow we had.
We've got the story about theprophet marrying the harlot as a
(06:22):
prophetic act of what it iswith the Lord and His covenant
with His people, and they'replaying the harlot against Him
all the time.
We see the prophet Ezekiellaying on his side for a year,
longer than a year, and thenflipping over to the other side.
And the Lord asked him to dothis because his life was a sign
(06:42):
and a wonder.
Well, how does that translateto today?
Well, there are things that Godwill ask you to do and there are
also things that will justhappen, come to pass in front of
you, and God is doing it tohave a witness, because God
never does anything without awitness.
He always has a witness to whathe is doing, and that's
(07:06):
scriptural, because in thewitness of two or three right
and there's always everything isalways set up so that there is
a testimony of it.
Like Jesus said, if I testifyof myself, it's still true
testimony, but it's in the midstof you that there may be
credibility to it in the eyes ofman.
So there are certain thingsthat God will ask you to do.
(07:31):
You know, with the prophetthrowing the salt into the
waters and cleansed it, did thesalt cleanse it or did the
prophetic act cleanse it?
Right, there's things like that.
And then in the New Testamentwe see Caiaphas unknowingly you
know the snake that he was, hewas high priest, but the brood
(07:55):
of viper that he was, the, the,you know, enemy of the Messiah,
prophesied unknowingly that itis better fitting that one man
should pay the price for thenation.
So there are sometimes eventhings that we do unknowingly.
(08:16):
The Lord has placed that in youto release that prophetic
utterance, that prophetic action, whatever it is, to be released
into the atmosphere so that itmight manifest in his due time
and due season.
What you're doing is you'replanting a seed, and sometimes
you'll have absolutely no ideaand the Lord will just strike
(08:39):
your spirit.
You know you could be you.
Okay, here's an.
Here's an example, somethingthat happened in my life.
Right, and I'm not going to getinto a whole lot of detail, but
I went through something reallyjust an absolute demonic attack
(08:59):
, and it was, and what I wasgoing through had a lot to do
with my call, you know, and thatand that happens.
That has a lot to do with I hada prophetic word given to me
about the finger of the prophet, and the and the person, the
prophet that prophesied it overme, used my right index finger,
(09:23):
the finger the prophet wascoming up on me.
Well, I went through somethingreally really terrible.
I mean a betrayal like I'venever experienced in my life,
and it was very closely tied tothis and I'm going to be careful
how I say this but basically myworld was turned upside down
(09:48):
and I was really struggling andI was on the rebound right
Several months of just absoluteemotional endurance.
I'll say it like that.
And unknowingly, I was in mykitchen and I accidentally cut
(10:12):
off the end of my finger, thesame one that was used to
prophesy the finger of theprophet on my life.
You know that the propheticword about being a prophet and I
cut off the end of my fingerall the way up to I'm not
talking like I lopped off thewhole thing, but it was all the
(10:33):
way up to my nail bed, that holeinto my finger.
I Cut it off and I was a littlebit stunned.
I looked at it and I juststarted laughing.
I was just cracking up and likeboys and that, fitting for the
season that I've been through, and I Knew right then and there,
like there's somethingprophetically being manifested
(10:58):
right now and and I was reallyupset because no well, number
one, it hurt, but I mean itwasn't like the end of the world
, it's just a finger.
But I had to preach for services.
In two weeks I had a conferencecoming up.
I was coming in from out oftown, I was being brought in to
preach for services and I hadjust lopped off the end of my
(11:18):
finger and I'm gonna go layhands on people with this hand
and what's crazy is I just fastforward here my finger grew back
.
Within two weeks before I gotup to this conference, my finger
grew back.
It was total supernaturalhealing and the Lord dropped in
(11:43):
my spirit man.
He said this was a circumcisionand a cutting off of the last
season and it was totallyrestored.
Now, if you looked at my handright now I'm looking at my
finger there's like there's nosign of any trauma whatsoever.
Now, this has been a long time.
(12:03):
It's been a while.
It's been healed for quite sometime, but it still hurts when I
touch it, when I put pressureon it, and it serves as a
reminder, a Reminder of what Iwent through, a reminder that
the Lord cut things away and aReminder that the Lord
supernaturally caused it tomanifest and grow back.
(12:26):
Now, you know, before peoplelike to Take things and make it
bigger than it was did it growback?
In front of my eyes?
No, but over the course of twoweeks, not only did this gaping
hole Close up, it completelyClosed up, grew the skin grew
over it, and there was no, noevidence that anything had
(12:48):
happened.
No, no, scab, nothing like that, and Typically that would take
quite some time, especially forthe, the hole that was there.
But that was the Lord, also asign from the Lord that there
was supernatural accelerationcoming back, and so I want to
(13:11):
encourage you today To ask theLord to give you prophetic
vision.
There are certain things thatmay have happened in your life,
things that may have stunned you, things where God may have cut
something away, where the Lordmay have removed a relationship,
or or there had been something.
Whether you lost a house, losta business, lost a vehicle,
(13:35):
there was something that youhave chalked up as this was
devastating.
Now am I going to suggest youthat God Devastated you or that
God cut off my finger?
No, not at all.
That is not who he is.
But there are things that aregoing to happen and God is going
to use that To point yourvision prophetically towards
(14:00):
destiny.
God will always take asituation, whether it is an
actual tragedy or something thatjust really hurts your morale,
and he will use that propheticvision to come upon you, to
(14:21):
point you towards heaven.
The spirit of prophecy is thetestimony of Jesus.
So God will speak throughsituations, through
circumstances.
Now don't get me wrong here.
The enemy moves inopportunities.
He's a total opportunist.
(14:42):
God is not an opportunist, buthe will shine forth in every
situation.
There are things in your lifethat you've chalked up as that's
forgettable.
Let's move on.
I never want to go through thatagain.
Hey, let me tell you, I don'tever want to go through cutting
(15:03):
my finger off again and I sureas heck don't ever want to go
through the betrayal that I wentthrough.
Would I trade it in?
No, because God has done amagnificent work in my heart and
in my spirit, and I am who I ambecause of what I've gone
through.
Was it the will of the Lord forthat betrayal to take place?
(15:23):
Absolutely not.
It was totally Jezebelic, butGod moved in such a way.
I don't ever want to go throughit again, but I'm thankful for
it.
You know, I don't want to cutmy finger off again, but I'm
thankful for the revelation thathe dropped in my spirit.
There is something that you'vegone through in your life and
(15:46):
maybe you didn't see anythingprophetic, maybe you didn't hear
the call of destiny, maybe youweren't aligning your vision
towards Christ.
Visit that, take it to him inprayer, take it to him in the
secret place.
God will reveal what he did foryou, what he was going to do
(16:09):
through that circumstance, andyou know, just to reiterate, god
didn't cause harm to your life, god did not bring attack to
your life.
But he will absolutely show up.
He will absolutely drop signsand wonders in all situations.
(16:30):
So if you didn't get it, takethat situation back to him.
Well, brother David, it took mea long time to get over that.
My therapist said not to talkabout it.
Well, that's wonderful.
What did the Lord say If hedidn't say anything?
He did speak.
You didn't pay attention to it.
(16:52):
You know I want to do a wholething on signs on another time,
but a sign is very similar towhat I'm talking about right now
.
A sign can be like I know Imade the joke about the broom
earlier.
Somebody held a broom and it'sprophetic.
Sometimes you can walk into theroom and you look at a broom
(17:15):
and you just get this wham inyour spirit and that's a sign.
God speaks through anything andhe could be telling you I'm
going to sweep some things outof your life or I'm going to
clean up something in your heart, or I'm going to, you know,
whatever.
That's just an example.
That's not a hard and fast rule.
The next time you walk in aroom and see a broom, you don't
(17:36):
necessarily have to fall on yourface and say God, clean it up.
You know, although if you'vegot four kids, like I do, I walk
into the kitchen every day andsay God, clean it up, but that's
a whole other issue.
That's because they messy.
But, jokes aside, you can walk.
(17:57):
You can be walking on a path inthe wilderness and you see
somebody left behind a shoveland it'll just strike you.
God is saying it's time to dig.
It's time to dig and you know, beneath the surface and I'm
going to take you to anotherlevel, or it's time to build, or
(18:19):
whatever.
There's no hard and fastinterpretation, because the Lord
will deposit that in yourspirit.
Right, that those are.
Those are along the signs of,or along the lines of a sign,
and I'm not talking aboutscience today, but that's the
same element as a prophetic act.
Caiaphas had no idea that he wasspeaking for destiny into Jesus
(18:43):
Christ's ministry on the earth.
One man will die for the nation.
I mean, caiaphas was the onethat put him on that cross,
right, he had no clue that whathe was releasing was a prophetic
word.
You know, moses struck the rockand it produced water.
(19:06):
But what happened was he struckthe rock twice because what he
was doing was a prophetic act.
He didn't realize it.
The Lord said strike the rock, water will pour out.
So he went up there to gostrike the rock.
But what was actually happeningwas he was prophesying the
crucifixion of the rock, jesusChrist, that one strike would be
(19:26):
enough to give life, becausethe water was to sustain their
life.
Right, what happened whenChrist was on the cross?
The water poured out from theside.
When Moses struck it a secondtime, he was violating the
prophecy.
He was actually prophesyingthat it would take two strikes,
and that's what cost him theability to go into the promised
land.
(19:47):
You know well, brother David, pastor Stone so told me a
different story.
Okay, that's great.
Revelation has multipledimensions.
There's multiple stories.
There's multiple reasons behindthe striking of the rock, but
one of the biggest things it wasit was a prophetic act.
So be careful.
If the Lord instructs you to dosomething, to do it exactly as
(20:11):
he instructed you to do itUnknowingly doing it.
There's a different standard.
It happens to record right infront of your eyes.
That's a different standard.
When God tells you go do this, that is a much higher standard
and take it very seriouslybecause he does.
Well, brother, that's OldTestament.
(20:32):
You know what's funny?
There's no difference Betweenthe Old Testament, the New
Testament.
Like all of a sudden, god is nolonger who he used to be.
That's.
That is not true.
The, the Old Covenant, was adifferent type of Covenant.
That's a whole nother teachingand a whole nother topic.
(20:52):
The job of the prophet isalways to point people to the
Covenant of the Lord.
God didn't change.
The Covenant changed.
God wasn't a meanie back in theOld Testament, like there's a
complete misunderstanding.
And it's not because youhaven't been taught, it's
because the church doesn't havea revelation we have.
(21:13):
We have traded in our intimaterelationship for Campus culture.
What is campus culture?
Like clubs, christian clubs,christian.
You know we're gonna go, we'regonna walk around, catch our
friends, go to Christian club.
You know, follow the, themeeting minutes.
(21:34):
You know we open like this, then we transition to this, then
we go who raw, who raw.
Then we break and go toMcDonald's.
We'll see you next week.
You know we've traded in ourintimacy which breeds revelation
for campus club Christianity.
And so, anyways, I'm steeringaway a little bit.
But the prophetic act when Godinstructs you to do it, very
(22:00):
much you must pay attention.
I know that was a little YodaII very much you must pay
attention.
That was a terrible Yoda.
But you get what I'm saying.
If God's telling you to do it,it's because he trusts you,
which means you already have anelement of relationship, more
(22:21):
than Western Christianityprovides.
You probably are intimate withthe Lord if he's going to give
you divine instructions to dosomething and that's fabulous.
Be a good steward of what hetells you to do.
And Then there's prophetic actsby faith.
And that's when you dosomething on your own accord in
(22:44):
faith, which is not wrong, it'snot sinful.
Just because you're doing it onyour own doesn't make it sinful
, you know, if you're driving byand you're like, you know,
deuteronomy says when I, everyplace I tread, I'm gonna take,
you know, I, I take authority inthat land.
So I'm gonna get out of my carright here, take off my shoes
and walk around and claim thisland, and that's by faith and
(23:06):
that's okay.
It's not going to yield thesame return because you're doing
it by faith versus doing itunder divine instruction.
But don't let that deter you, especially if you feel prompted
on the inside like hey, let's godo a faith act, let's go do a
prophetic act by faith, you know.
Or this, this land is, uh,there's a lot of witchcraft in
(23:30):
this land, so I'm going to go upto the high place and worship
the Lord.
Well, if he didn't divinelyinstruct you to do that, it
doesn't mean you shouldn't.
It just means you're doing itby faith.
So these are just differentelements of the prophetic act.
I was part of a prophetic act.
Uh, in 2020, during the scammimic, I was in Los Angeles with
(23:52):
Sean Foyt and they wereplanting an olive tree, which
was representation ofrestoration, and you know the
anointing oil from the olivetree, and and then the olive
branch, which is the branch ofpeace, and all that on Azusa
Street, right in the place thatthe revival broke out, with
(24:14):
William Seymour.
Right, we were planting it,also prophetically that the
roots of the tree would dig downinto the deep wells of revival
and, uh, two local pastors, seanFoyt and myself uh, through
dirt, we lowered it into thehole and we threw dirt on it as
a prophetic act and a propheticplanting of this tree.
(24:35):
You know, did the Lord manifestin the in the dark cloud and
say go do it?
Well, I don't know, because itwas Sean's idea.
So, maybe, but, um, we did itby faith and it's no less
powerful.
It just might carry lessauthority if it's a faith act
(24:56):
versus a divine instruction act,but anyways, I want to
encourage you today to takesituations and scenarios in your
life that you've had a hardtime comprehending.
Somebody did you wrong, somebodybetrayed you.
Um, you know, the bank wasunfair and seized your assets or
(25:17):
whatever it is, or you gotpassed over for this or whatever
it is in your life that you'venever fully understood, and you
just kind of been one of those.
Well, lord, I just give it toyou and I move on.
That's good, because too manypeople stay stuck.
But I want to encourage you totake that situation to the Lord
(25:39):
in prayer, go into your prayercloset, worship Him, wait until
His Spirit manifest the presence, wait until the presence of God
comes all around you and bringthose situations before the Lord
that he might give you thedivine interpretation, the
revelation of what he wasspeaking through, those
(26:02):
situations that you don'tunderstand.
And not every situation that youdon't understand has to be
negative.
There are many situations thatwill unfold in your life, around
you or before you that arepositive, that you're not going
to understand, just most peopleidentify with.
(26:22):
I don't understand thisnegative thing.
It's easy to chop up.
The positive thing is random, blessing, praise God, but to
everything there's a deeperunderstanding.
So today I want to encourageyou to do that.
All right, father, I thank youfor every listener.
I bless them with the spirit ofwisdom and revelation and
(26:45):
knowledge and the understandingof their calling their life.
God, I pray that you wouldilluminate everything you have
for them on this day, theirdaily bread In Jesus' mighty
name, amen.
Thank you for tuning in andlistening.
God bless you.
I hope you have a fantastic day, wherever you are.
Thanks for joining us.
