Speaker 1 (00:00):
My name's Chris Gunn and you should go pluck yourself
.
Okay, here we go.
Let's call this episode zero.
Now, before you go and hit playon the first official episode,

(00:20):
which is my lovely chat with myvery good friend and fellow
actor, nick Launchbury, I justwanted to post this kind of
prologue episode and have alittle chat about what this is
and who I am and what you canexpect from this podcast.
So welcome to Go, pluckYourself.
The Actor's Pursuit with ChrisGunn.
That's me.
I'm an actor and I work in film, tv commercials and theatre.

(00:44):
If you've come across mysocials before, you might know
me as the guy that played NoelGallagher in Michael Gracie's
epic Robbie Williams biopicBetter man.
So there you go.
That's my current claim to fame.
But look, I'm not going to sithere and rattle off my resume,
because I really don't likedoing that and you'll never get
those 15 seconds back.

(01:04):
But if you do want to find outwho I am and some of the roles
that I've played, feel free tocheck out my Instagram and
TikTok, which is at featuringunderscore Chris, underscore gun
.
All right, good, that's theshameless but necessary
self-promotion out of the way.
So what can you expect from thisshow?

(01:25):
I might start with why Istarted the podcast, and the
reason is that every time I'm ona film set or I'm driving to
set with another actor, I alwaysend up having these really
lovely, honest and in-depthconversations with other actors
and filmmakers, and I alwayscome away from these chats just
absolutely buzzing with creativeenergy and inspiration.

(01:45):
These kinds of conversationsare where I learn the most about
this industry and this craftand about myself.
So I thought why not sharethese conversations with whoever
wants to listen and hey, thatmight be you.
So whether you're an actor or afilmmaker, or you're just
someone who appreciates theworld of acting and filmmaking
and you're curious about whatgoes on in the lives and minds

(02:08):
of people doing this work, thenthis is for you.
I'm going to be talking toactors, directors,
cinematographers, producers justanyone who's revolving around
this industry.
I genuinely love having theseconversations and I think you
will too.
Now I'm wary of advice and Idon't want you to come into this
thing thinking that thispodcast is just going to be me
screaming acting advice intoyour ears.

(02:29):
Even though the title Go PluckYourself is straight up advice,
the podcast itself is notintended to be an acting advice
podcast.
These are candid chats betweentwo creatives discussing the
things that have worked for themand the things that haven't.
They're chats about curiosityand insights into the lives and

(02:50):
careers of real working actorsand filmmakers.
But some of those insightsmight come across as advice, and
if and when you do hearsomething that feels like advice
, please take it with a pinch ofsalt, as you should with
anything that you hear on theinternet.
If something sits well with you, try it on, see if it fits, but
if it doesn't feel right, justmark it as a different

(03:14):
perspective or disregard itcompletely.
Acting is such a personal andindividual process and there is
no one right way to go about it.
Everyone's path is different.
We're all just trying to figureit out in our own way.
So that's about it.
I'm really excited to getstarted with this thing and show
you what I've been working on.
I have absolutely loved hangingout with my creative pals and
talking about the things thatwe're so passionate about.

(03:36):
Please make sure you hitsubscribe if you're watching on
YouTube or follow on whateverpodcast platform you're using,
and, of course, follow thepodcast on Instagram and TikTok,
which is at gopluckyourselfpod.
Now please go ahead and pressplay on episode one, my lovely
chat with one of the mostundeniably talented and

(03:56):
committed actors that I know, mrNick Langebury.
My name is Chris Gunn and hey,go, pluck yourself.
