As summer approaches, many people begin focusing more on their health, fitness, and wellness routines, often kick-starting their efforts to get in shape for the season. Supplements can be helpful tools to enhance performance, build muscle, and support recovery—yet many people overlook how they can contribute to a healthy, balanced routine.
Creatine is in the news these days, and receiving LOTS of searches online. Why? Two reasons. It's summer and many folks are getting in shape for the season. And, the supplement creatine is no longer considered solely for weight lifters and men. It's for women too, who want to have more energy and stamina in their workouts, as they make time to balance their health with their home and work lives. Our trainer and nutritionist explains.
Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach Patty Brewton is here to clear up the confusion. A former Division I collegiate swimmer with a degree in kinesiology, she guides people to train smarter by combining the right exercise, nutrition, and supplements.
Despite the buzz around these supplements 54% of adults under 49 either don’t know or are unsure of how much protein they should consume daily. It’s not just protein – only 38% are aware of the benefits of pre-workout supplements, and fewer than 30% understand the advantages of creatine.
This data comes from a consumer research study conducted by Nutrabolt, a Human Performance Company, that conducted a May 2025 survey of over 1,000 Americans aged 18–49.
