This one’s for the creative who’s been carrying a God-given idea in their heart for way too long. You know the one...the idea that keeps nudging you, whispering at you in the quiet moments, but somehow keeps getting pushed to the back burner.

Yeah… I’m talking to you today.

And don’t worry - I’m not coming for you without checking myself first. Because this? It used to be me. Honestly, some days, it still is. When God gives us something to build, birth, or begin that business, book, product, service, or new season...the resistance is real. Doubt, delay, distraction - they all show up dressed like “good reasons.”

But deep down, you know you’re not at peace because you haven’t moved on what He placed in you.

In today’s episode, we’re going heart-first into:

  • Why your idea won’t let you go
  • The sneaky ways fear masks itself as “timing” or “preparation”
  • And how to take one bold, obedient step toward the vision...even if it’s messy

This isn’t about hustle. It’s about holy momentum.

Let’s talk about what happens when you finally say yes.

Speaker (00:00):
Today, my friend is for the creative who has a God given
idea sitting in their spirit, but they keep putting it on the
back burner.
Yep, we're talking about it now.
I might be calling you out rightnow.
I'm assuming because you clickedto listen on this episode that
this speaks to you, that thisperson, this creative that I'm

(00:23):
talking about is you, however.
It used to be Me too.
Okay.
It in fact still is me.
Whenever God calls me tosomething or I know an idea is
from him and I wanna pursue it,but man, I just can't because
it's too much.
It's too heavy.
I don't know.
I'm scared.
So many things.

(00:43):
Right.
I understand.
I know.
That tension, that tension whereyou're praying for clarity,
you're praying for answers, you're praying for what exactly
to do in order to pursue theidea, or praying for the
confidence to help you take thatstep forward.
You're praying for it.
But what I'm finding is a lot oftimes in our spirit.

(01:07):
We know what it is.
We might not have all theclarity in the world, but we
know what that idea is, and weknow the next step that God is
wanting us to take.
You're just afraid to move, soyou mask it.
You mask it by telling yourselfthat you need even more answers
from God before you moveforward.

(01:28):
You mask it by telling yourselfthat it's just not the right
time.
We put all of these masks on itand make all of the excuses when
a lot of times, my friend, you're just scared.
And you know what?
It's okay to admit that becauseit's not an easy thing to do.
It's not easy.
Pursuing the idea that God gaveyou.
It's not even easy trying tofigure out if God gave you that

(01:50):
idea or if it was an idea ofyour own.
It is not simple.
Here's the thing, the idea thatyou have in your mind, what you
wanna pursue, what you wannabuild, what you feel called to
create.
That thing didn't just come outof nowhere.
Now I understand you're stilltrying to decipher, is it God's
voice or is it your voice?

(02:13):
At the end of the day, the ideadid not come from nowhere.
And I think we just need tounderstand what it even looks
like for God to give us an ideain the first place because yes,
could it be period point, blank.
He just spoke those words toyour mind one day and you were
like, oh, yep.
That idea was definitely fromthe Holy Spirit.

(02:33):
Yes, it could be.
But a lot of times God mightshow you or push you or nudge
you towards that idea.
He might speak that idea throughdifferent people into you.
He might trigger a thought tocome to your mind after you just
got done doing something thatyou are passionate about, or

(02:54):
something that sparked a fire inyou and then that triggered a
thought that maybe just maybeyou should pursue this thing.
You should go after this idea.
And I wanna say that because alot of times we just say that
we're waiting on God to pursuewhat he's calling us to do.
We're waiting on the righttiming.
We're waiting for him to give usclarity on this idea, my friend.

(03:15):
Let's be real.
A lot of the clarity that weseek sometimes is God just
telling us point blank what itis, but we cannot fit God into
that box.
He will not work within your boxof how you think he should be
telling you what your next stepis.
That is up to God to distinguishhow he's going to bring that

(03:35):
your way, lead you towards it,and you have to do that work.
And a lot of times confirming ifit was God who gave you that
idea, is just moving.
Moving in a direction where youthink it could be God's idea
that he placed in your mind andseeing where it leads.
Because a lot of times if Godgave you that idea, it won't be

(03:58):
easy.
It'll be hard, but it will alsoflow Doors will supernaturally
open.
You don't have to force, force, force for things to happen.
They just divinely do on God'stiming when it comes to that
idea because he's the one thatgave it to you.
Versus if you're bumping into alot of closed doors, things are
not working, you're constantlyfrustrated.

(04:21):
It is back to back roadblockafter roadblock, after
roadblock.
Well, maybe that's not God'spath for you.
I'm not the one to tell youthat.
That's for you to distinguishbecause there are times where
God will bring you through thefire in something to sharpen you
enough for an idea to come tolife.
I know I'm saying a lot, but thereason why is because God is not

(04:43):
predictable when it comes to howhe's going to.
Show you that the idea that youhave in your mind is what he
wants you to pursue and how he'sgoing to help you pursue it if
that's the case.
But I gotta say, if God gave youthat idea, that should not be
wasted for the creator of you togive you an idea of what to

(05:07):
pursue.
He is calling you to somethingto make an impact, to make a
difference in your life and toothers.
So why are you hiding when youhave been called for this?
If you received that idea, thenthat means you are the one that
he has called to steward thatidea well.

(05:29):
So what are you doing about it?
Hiding is not stewarding Thatidea, sitting on excuses and
masks is not stewarding thatidea.
Now, here's the thing, thereason why.
A lot of us struggle instewarding An idea that God may
have given us is because we gota lot of questions, we got a lot

(05:51):
of fears, and what you think arelogistical questions is really
lies that you are tellingyourself that hinder you from
pursuing what God has beencalling you to do this entire
time.
There has been different ideasthat God has called me to over
my life so far, and even if Ididn't know it was God, and

(06:12):
maybe it was just my idea and Ijust wanted to try it, I could
tell whether he was in it ornot.
When he's in it.
As I mentioned before, thingsflow.
Things naturally happen, andnothing feels so dramatically
forced when he's not in it.
When he didn't really call youto that and you're really just
going your own way, then thingsfeel closed, things feel darker.

(06:33):
Things don't feel in alignmentwith your own self, and you will
literally feel that if.
You will allow the spirit toconnect with you in that way and
show you that this is not theway.
So when you do pursue the ideasthat he did give you, and you
see that your responsibility isto steward that idea, well then

(06:54):
that means that you first haveto overcome the questions that
you know you are asking yourselfright now.
So let's go through thosequestions.
What if I'm not ready?
What if people don't get it?
What if someone else is alreadydoing it?
What if I fail?
I know these questions have beenasked in your mind.

(07:17):
And I also just wanna highlightthe very real fact that they're
scary.
I'm not gonna sit here and belike, Hey, you can get over it.
It's not that bad.
Just push through.
No, it's terrifying.
Okay.
There's a lot of questions inour human mind that we ask
ourselves logistically, but.
We need to understand that whenGod has given us this idea and

(07:37):
he is calling us to pursue it,he does not care about your
logistics.
He cares about your obedience.
And what's scary is a lot oftimes we'll take these
logistical fears and we willsay.
That we're waiting on God, forexample, the logistical fear of
what, if I'm not ready, you willput an excuse to that and say,

(07:58):
okay, well let me just wait onGod until I'm ready.
The logistical fear of what if Ifail?
You'll put an excuse on that andsay, okay, well, I'll wait on
God to help make me moreconfident so that I can ensure I
succeed.
Don't get me wrong, there areseasons for waiting on God, but
more than not, God is waiting onyou.

(08:18):
He needs you to take that firststep.
He needs you to move.
He needs to see your effort.
He needs to see your obedience.
Rather than constantly seekingall the clarity, now.
Something else I want to saywhen it comes to.
The fact that you're hiding fromyour God-given idea, my friend,
you are not supposed to feelqualified in order to finally

(08:42):
pursue that idea.
God so beautifully has a patternof calling the unqualified.
There are so many stories in theBible where he has called people
that have had so many flaws thatwere far from perfect.
His disciple, Matthew, was a taxcollector and betrayed his own
people.

(09:02):
His other disciple Simon, whowas a zealot, which was a group
known to be extremely violent.
Paul was known to be a murderer, literally murdering Christians.
Yet God called these people.
Do you think.
That he cares about yourqualifications, about your
expertise, about yourperfectionism.

(09:22):
He doesn't want that becausethink about that.
When you have the heart positionof being so highly qualified,
you get all the qualificationsand the credentials, and you're
just this picture perfect personyou're acting like you don't
need God.
Why?
Because Jesus is what makes usperfect.
Jesus qualifies and validatesus.

(09:44):
So if Jesus is not in thatpicture, and you have this sense
of entitlement in regards toyour own validation and your own
perfectionism and your ownqualifications, then where is
God in that?
If God has a history of callingthe unqualified, then why are
you setting that falseexpectation on yourself that you
need to be qualified in order topursue what he's calling you to
do?
God doesn't ask for yourperfection.

(10:06):
He wants your obedience.
He just wants your yes.
Let him work out.
The rest you say, yes, not justwith your words, but with your
action.
By moving move.
Do something one little steptowards that idea that you
believe that God gave you.

(10:26):
Let him work out the rest.
Let him sustain that path.
Let him pivot it however he seesfit, and speaking of your yes Is
so essential for you to stophiding.
Behind the idea that God gaveyou because your yes to finally
pursuing what he did give you isthe key to someone else's
transformation, someone else'sfreedom.

(10:49):
There is someone or a group ofpeople out there that are
looking for a seed to be plantedin their life, and that seed is
what sprouts into a relationshipbetween them and Jesus.
It's what helps them overcomewhat they're facing.
Sing change for the better.
Light a spark inside of them sothat they can do and pursue what

(11:11):
God is calling them to do sothat they can heal, so that they
can overcome in any degree or avariation in something specific.
You, my friend, are beingcalled.
To be that seed planter in thatperson's or group of people's
lives.
Just by you saying yes to theidea that God gave you, and this

(11:32):
could mean anything.
Sure.
It could be as transformationalas you wanting to be this
incredible life coach ormotivational speaker to the
point where you're pouring intopeople and changing their lives.
Yes, it could be to that scalewhen it comes to planting a
seed.
However, it could also becompletely random.
It could also be.
You starting this nonprofit oryou writing this book, or you

(11:58):
launching this digital productand based off of what that
project or book or product isbased on.
Whatever you do, whatever thatidea is, it can help someone.
I always love to remind peopleand remind myself that
entrepreneurship is not aboutyou.
I know it feels that way becausewe just wanna make our money and

(12:18):
leave our nine to five and beour own boss.
So it feels like it's all aboutme, me, me.
Guess what?
My friend entrepreneurship,God's way has nothing to do with
you.
God is calling you to thisbusiness.
To be a light to people thatneed it to make impact to people
that need it to some degree, andyes, can the benefit of that
when it comes toentrepreneurship, be financial

(12:39):
freedom and you being successfuland you getting opportunities?
Yes, but deep down, the realpurpose has nothing to do with
you.
It has everything to do with whoGod is calling you to be an
impact for to help.
To overcome, to see, to reveal,to heal, to learn, all because

(13:01):
of your, yes.
It doesn't matter how small thatidea seems or feels to you,
because even though that ideamight feel small to you.
It could be someone else'sanswered prayer.
I remember when God was callingme.
To show up consistently withthese podcast episodes.

(13:22):
Before I was doing it, likemaybe once a month, it was
really hard for me to beconsistent with them at first,
and then I just felt this nudgeto start learning to steward my
time better so that I could showup in these episodes weekly.
And at first I was like, is thatreally necessary though?
Do I really need to do this?
That sounds exhausting.
And then once I just gave God myyes and did it and was

(13:44):
consistent in it and found a lotof passion and purpose in it, I
started to see the results thatcame from that, that had
everything to do with how theseepisodes are impacting people.
Whether it's one person thatlistens or a hundred thousand
people that listen.
The comments that I see in theseepisodes reveal to me that I am

(14:05):
doing what God is calling me todo.
I gave him my yes rather thanhiding behind the idea and
seeing how these episodes arehelping people, healing people,
pouring into people, growingconfidence in people.
Gaining clarity in people, thatis the mission, but none of that

(14:27):
would've happened.
None of those people, I wouldn'thave been able to help had I not
given God my yes to doing thisin the first place.
Stop hiding behind your Godgiven idea.
When you do, you are robbingsomeone else of their
transformation.
Now the person, the people thatGod wants to transform, he will

(14:49):
use who he needs to help thatperson.
It's up to you to give God youryes or no.
God will use who he needs, buthe's called you.
Are you going to say yes or areyou going to keep hiding and
basically show God to move on tosomeone else?
It is time to stop hiding.
It's been long enough.
It's time to move even in thesmallest way, even if it's

(15:13):
messy, even if it's scary, evenif it's awkward, even if it's
quiet and nobody notices, guesswhat God does?
It's time.
Here's what I want you to do,just as an actionable step.
I want you somewhere to writedown the idea that God has
placed in your mind.
Maybe it's a brand new lifechanging idea.
Maybe it's just one small ideain what you're already doing,

(15:37):
whatever it is, write it downsomewhere.
If you can write it on a stickynote that's even better.
Take that sticky note and placeit in a room or a space where
you are in every day.
Your car, the mirror in yourbathroom, your office space.
Put it there because I think weneed a daily reminder in written

(15:57):
form for us to visually see whatthat idea could be that God is
calling us to do.
And I want that daily reminderto help you take some sort of
small step.
This week you wake up, you seethat note in the bathroom, you
see it in your car, you see itin your office space.
It is a reminder to move.
So anytime you're hesitant, anytime you don't want to,

(16:18):
anytime you're too tired.
That sticky note is the annoyingbut friendly nudge that it's
time.
Highly, highly recommend thatyou do that, especially if you
have been struggling for way toolong to just move.
Thanks so much for tuning intoday, friend.
I really hope that it wasencouraging for you.
