(00:51):
We're just.
Just on pause, but we're back.
We were just on pause.
God had us taken in a differentdirection.
That's called obedience.
And that's another episode.
Coming up.
So we welcome.
And look you guys back.
I hope you guys haven't gonethrough too many withdrawals
from our episodes.
This is episode 12 guys, 12episodes.

(01:13):
Can we, I can't believe thatwe've gone 12 episodes already.
I think that deserves someapplause.
And there's enough of that.
So 12 episodes guys, we havebeat the 10 episode, a curse on
YouTube, Spotify, applepodcasts, wherever you guys

(01:34):
listening to this.
So it took us awhile, but wehave in fact made it to 12.
Would that be in sad?
We won't go into any delay.
We're going to jump right intothis.
What is the topic today?
Episode 12, B yo.
B.
Yolk.
So guys today.
And that doesn't mean like buff.
No.
Not like swole, looking at likeus, but being yoked, we're going

(01:59):
to look at what that means.
Yes.
Today we're going to learn whatit means to be yoked with God
and how to walk beside him inlife.
Beside that's a key word beside.
Amen.
Not in front of, or behind.
Our core versus like always onthese episodes.
If you've been following us, wehave a kind of a core verse
thing, and this is Matthew 11,28 through 30.

(02:22):
Come to me all who labor and areheavy Laden.
I will give you rest, take myyoke upon you and learn from me
for, I am gentle and lowly inheart.
And you will.
Find rest for your souls for myyoke is easy and my burden is
light.
Again, Matthew 11, 28 through30.
So get your Bibles.
Get your notebooks.
Get your pens.

(02:44):
There it is right there.
If you can see that, if you'rewatching, if you're listening,
he's holding up the Bible.
And pens, notebooks,highlighters.
This is an active interactivepodcast.
We don't want you just to behaving your ears tickled.
We want you to, study thisbecause this is fruitful.
All the word is purposeful, andI hope this helps you guys as it

(03:04):
helps us.
Levister is 28, 18 28, which weuse just for some definitions
and some clarity of what thatthese key words from these
verses means.
So a Webster's 1828 dictionary.
You can download the free app.
Is a defined yoke as a devicefor joining together a pair of

(03:25):
draft animals, especially oxen, usually consisting of a
crosspiece.
With two bow shaped pieces.
And in closing the head of ananimal.
If you want to like searchGoogle, whatever it is, yoke,
you'll see.
A picture and description ofwhat I just said.
And so that being said, we startthese podcasts and end these

(03:47):
podcasts the same way.
And that is with a little bit ofprayer.
Amen.
So I'm going to let Jeremy goahead and take that.
Father God, we just thank youfor this opportunity to have a
platform to share your word.
May everything that we speak, beedifying.
I'm a father.
God, we pray that the years.
The hearing and we pray that thehearts be receiving.

(04:08):
May your word go forth today andthen days ahead to bring
edification and to bring ateaching.
In, in our understanding of yourword.
And so we just say, come haveyour way.
And we just pray these things inJesus name.
Amen.
And men.
Go ahead.
When we're talking about beingguilty, there's a really key
factor to this being yoked.

(04:28):
And that is.
They won't just throw twoanimals in it to be yoked.
There was the stronger olderyolk.
There are oxygen, or the animalthat has been seasoned that,
that leads the direction.
And then they take the untamedor the younger.
Oxen or other animal that'sgoing to be working in the
field.

(04:50):
And it is yoked to the older, more seasoned.
Ox or animal and the purpose ofit.
And so that the younger canlearn.
What it looks like and feels tostep in with.
And when we were looking at thescripture, I was thinking about
the fact of this is that.
Before coming into arelationship with God before

(05:11):
having a relationship with JesusChrist.
We really are like untamed wildanimals.
We have no direction.
We're just going wherever wefeel like in a, and there's a
good scripture to look at whatthat looks like when we just run
wild with however we're feeling.
And that can be found inEphesians to you visions.
One through four.

(05:33):
So we're going to look atEphesians two verses one through
four.
It says, and you, he made alivewho were dead in trespasses and
sins.
In which once walked, accordingto the course of this world.
According to the prince of thepower of the air.
The spirit who now works in thesons of disobedience.

(05:53):
Among whom also we all onceconducted ourselves.
And the loss of our flesh.
Fulfilling the desires of theflesh and of the mind and were
by nature.
Children are wrath.
Just as the others.
But God who is rich in mercy.
Oh, God, come on now, Bo.
A guy who is rich in mercy.

(06:14):
Because of his great love.
With which he loved us.
Okay.
So when we look at this, we arein a place and maybe this is
where you're at.
Where we just run wild.
We were running all over theplace and it becomes tired.
Some overtime.
And becomes burdens.
And what God does is he takes usand he begins to yoke us.

(06:38):
And Damien's going to talk alittle bit more about that, but
we all need to be.
Broken.
We all need to be tamed becauseif you're not yoked with God,
you're yoked with the devil.
That's it, you may think you'rerunning free.
But the truth is the devil givesyou just enough room to hang
yourself.
The devil gives you just enoughroom to make you think you're in

(06:59):
control.
Before he pulls a.
The yoke upon you.
And he yanks you in thedirection that he desires for
you to go right.
And that, That's a very goodpoint.
It's the desire of the father, and here.
And so he has to break us inorder to move and walk.
Move us and walk us in his ways.
And and if we go to Ephesianstwo four through 10, it talks

(07:22):
about the Jesus is the yoke thatconnects us.
To God.
And so two verse four through 10says, but God.
Who was rich in mercy.
Because of his great love withwhich he loved us, even when we
were dead in trespasses made usalive.
Alive.
Alive.

(07:44):
Made us alive together withChrist.
So there's the yellow.
There's that yolk right there.
That unit TPS.
Together with Christ by grace, you have been saved.
Not, you might be not.
You could be, you have beensaved.
Because we chose the yolkourselves together with Christ
and raised us up together andmade us sit together.
See if you notice guys, apattern here together, that's

(08:05):
purposeful.
Raise this up together made ussit together in the heavenly
places in Christ.
Jesus.
That in the ages to come, hemight show his exceeding riches
of his grace in his kindnesstowards us in Christ.
Jesus.
For by grace, you have beensaved through faith and that of
not of yourselves, it is a giftfrom God.
His yoke is a gift not of works.

(08:27):
Lest anyone should boast for, weare his workmanship.
Created in Christ Jesus for goodworks, which God prepared.
Beforehand that we should walkin them.
And so there's together.
There's together.
There is.
You have there's all theseconjunctions and these
conjoining words of promise.
In all throughout that in Christyou have together.

(08:51):
There's that's for a purpose,that's a pattern right there.
Be, have to be willing to beyoked with God.
And that takes submission.
It takes obedience.
It takes surrendering andsubmitting to what you think you
should be doing in your life.
Versus what the word says youneed to do to have these
promises, to have this yo, to beable to move in.
Into that fellowship with thefather.

(09:12):
And so we want everybody who'slistening to this to understand
that.
It's not about like how manythings you can plan out in your
day.
It's believing in this word.
And understanding that w withoutthis word and faith that we
have, there's no yolk to be hadtogether with God with Christ.
Or in Christ.

(09:33):
Yeah.
Take that.
Yeah.
So this yoke that he puts on us,It is a gift from God.
And, The thing with this yolkthat he puts upon us, it teaches
us how to walk with God.
It's such a gift to.
It says that if you're tired andburdensome, if you're tired and
weary, And whether you'rewalking with God or not walking

(09:53):
with God, you're going to findyourself tired at times.
Yeah.
You're going to find yourselfweary because that's the life
that we live in.
It's the broken sinful nature ofthe world we live in.
And so we need to understandwe're all going to go through
it.
Yeah, it's just a matter of howwe go through it.
And God gives us this beautifulgift.
Yes, he does says it's easy.

(10:14):
That it's light.
And it says that.
Those that are, low in spirit.
That he's with us.
Yes.
Yes.
So it's important for us tounderstand and the beautiful
thing that God showed me like awhile back was when we're yoked
with God and we're learning towalk and step with him.
The thing that's beautiful aboutwalking in step with him is that
when we start to get ahead ofhim, The yolk that's upon us.

(10:38):
The purpose of the piece of woodthat connects the younger to the
older is if you start to getahead, it pulls on the neck,
pulls you back.
Yes.
And if you start to fall behindyou alignment exactly until I
may.
And if you start to fall behindit pulls you back.
So there's a stress.
So if you're feeling stress, ifyou're feeling burden, if you're

(10:58):
feeling heavy, And, you have arelationship with God.
Then, you're not in step, you'renot in alignment with where God
is telling you to be this yokethat he's put upon us.
It doesn't mean that you're notgoing to go through hardships.
It doesn't mean that you're notgoing to go through things are
difficult life.
But you will be able to find apeace that surpasses
understanding.

(11:19):
Yes.
And the midst of your sorrow.
Amen.
Because he yolks us with him tolearn, to walk and step with
them.
Step-by-step.
Faith with faith paid themustard seed, as it says, in
other parts of the word.
And.
And so I hope you guys aregetting some value out of this.
And it's important to rememberthat Jesus' invitation is open

(11:41):
to everyone.
He calls all who labor and areheavy Laden.
That heavy Laden is any stressyou're having in your day.
Any financial issues, anymarriages use anything?
Exactly.
All that stuff is a heavy Ladendebt includes every one of us.
And so whether our birds arephysical, emotional, spiritual,
Jesus is ready to give us thatrest.

(12:01):
As long as we allow him togently.
Put his yoke upon us so we canfollow along with him together.
Because this is yoke is easy andhis burden is light.
And and that brings us to thekey takeaways here.
And man that we really want youguys to focus on key takeaways
for today.

(12:22):
Get your pens and write thisdown, go back and study
inheritance.
I encourage you go deep into theword.
So takeaway number one.
Let God break you.
Ooh.
You must be broken to walk instep with him.
That's important.
I have to go.
So step bar.
So our key takeaway, number one,let God break you.

(12:43):
Yes, that would have break you.
Number two.
Jesus is the yoke.
And the way it's our topic fortoday, get yoked with God, Jesus
as the yoke.
That's right.
And takeaway number three, learnto walk with God.
That's the key.
If you find yourself back inyour burden, if you find
yourself back being heavy Laden.
No, that you're out of step withwhere God's calling you to walk.

(13:05):
You have to learn that piece ofthat's obedience and submission,
and we're going to do pieces onthose in the future.
To go into detail of what thatmeans, how it looks like to do
that.
Because it can seem foreign.
You need to keep listening tothis and be like, what are they
talking about?
And that's why I've encouragedyou to get a Bible.
If you don't, if you're not inthe word then go into the word,
going through a dictionary, learn what yoked is, learn what

(13:27):
it means in the natural sense.
And then see what it says in thespiritual sense.
And then combine the two.
Cause sometimes the visualrepresentation will help you.
So getting like a Bibledictionary or a picture.
Representation of this is whyJesus used metaphors, so that
the physical could lead to anunderstanding of the spirit, he
knew.
He knew nobody was going tounderstand what he was saying,

(13:49):
unless he used what he sawaround him.
And unless you're a farmer, mostof us don't know what a yoke is.
Exactly.
Got to look it up and understandthe time of where and who he was
speaking to why?
Oh.
K E not Y O L K.
Yeah.
Big difference.
And that's, again, brings us tothe end of this year episode
and, We just want to thank youguys, for it's good to be back

(14:09):
for true to sticking with it.
It's going to be back and we'llbe back.
Surely.
And so for new freethinkers andfact finders, there's a little
bit more for you to take awayfrom this episode.
I'm being yoked.
Continue to reread thescriptures mentioned in this
episode, we're to focus on.
Matthew 1128.
Come to me all who are labor andheavy Laden.
I will give you rest, take myyoke upon you and learn from

(14:31):
your frame, gentle and lowly inheart.
And you will find rest fortomorrow.
And their souls.
My yoke is easy.
I married in his light.
Light guys.
That's not.
It doesn't mean you're supposedto feel like a brick, a ton of
bricks is on you.
Amen.
They're actually quite theopposite.
Being yoked in the world canfeel heavy, but yoked in Christ
feels light.

(14:52):
I imagine he takes it with him.
He took it at the cross.
He takes the burden part.
He took it at the cross andthat's what it is.
And all we see God in his wordand how to build these in your
life, don't forget to pray forthe breakthrough.
What do we always say allthroughout the Bible?
Prayer is your weapon.
Amen prayers, how you hear fromGod.

(15:12):
Also, don't forget to subscribeto the God fags pockets on
YouTube on all streamingplatforms, apple podcasts,

Yeah, the last couple episodesaren't on apple.

(15:34):

Amen.

(15:55):
We thank you for pastor Jeremyand myself to allow us this
vehicle, this vessel, this.
Boat to float around Lord foryour glory to lead these people
and the sheep in the rightdirection.
Lord.
That we pray that through allthe Just the F the flood of
information and content thathits our eyes on a daily basis

(16:15):
that in our ears, That they willfind this as a piece of
substance and not one that justtries to buy their time.
Lord.
One, that's going to add valuethrough you, Lord.
So I pray that they go out witheffectiveness, that they absorb
what they heard.
And that this does not fall ondeaf ears, Lord, and that they

(16:35):
