What if a simple question could unravel your faith? Join us today on Learning to Live in Truth as we explore the timeless story of Adam and Eve in Genesis chapter 3. We start by reflecting on the cunning nature of the serpent and how its deceptive words led Eve to question God's command. This episode isn't just a recount of biblical events—it's a mirror reflecting our own struggles with doubt and deception. We'll uncover how staying rooted in Jesus' word and maintaining a strong prayer life can help us discern truth from lies in our daily lives.

In the second part of our journey, we take a deep look at the themes of temptation and vulnerability. Even the strongest believers can fall prey to temptation, often through their closest relationships. We'll discuss the dynamics between men and women, the intrinsic strength given to men to lead, and how understanding our vulnerabilities can help us avoid falling into the enemy's traps. Our conversation underscores the importance of recognizing the ways God provides us the means to escape temptation, allowing us to stand firm in our faith. Equip yourself with these insights and fortify your spiritual defenses against the subtle snares of the enemy.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hello, hello, and welcome back to Learning to Live
in Truth.
So glad to be before you onemore time.
Yes, one more time.
Amen.
Today is a day that has beengiven to us and not promised.
Amen.
How many of you believe that?
Amen?
I hope you believe it and knowit.
Amen.
How many of you believe that?

(00:26):
Amen, I hope you believe it andknow it.
Amen.
Today was not promised to notone of us.
Amen, and unfortunately, somebody went home today.
Amen.
The unfortunate part is thatsomebody didn't make it to glory
, hallelujah.
Somebody made it to hell.
That ain't good at all,hallelujah.

(00:48):
So make it your business.
Let somebody know about thegoodness of jesus.
Praise, hallelujah.
So I ain't wasting no time.
We're gonna get into it.
You know why you're here, amen, getting into the word of god.
So let's go.
Father, we thank you so muchfor your grace and your mercy.
Thank you, god, for allowing usto stay in this time.
God, to get into your word.

(01:08):
Pray, god, that you open up oureyes, open up our ears, that we
might be able to see and hearwhat it is you have to say.
I pray in the name of Jesus.
We pray a fresh anointing amongevery diamond that is here.
I pray in the name of Jesusthat your will will be done, but
we turn this time over to you.
In Jesus Christ's name, I dopray, amen, amen and amen,

(01:34):
hallelujah.
I'm not wasting no time, y'all, hallelujah, amen.
We're going to jump right intoit.
So we just finished chapter two, talked about the first marriage
, talked about adam and thecreation of eve and all of that
good stuff.
Now we are moving on to chapterthree.

(01:54):
We're gonna dig into, uh, likeeverybody loves this part of the
bible.
I mean, we hear about theserpent and how Eve fell, adam
fell and all of that.
People love the story, amen.
And so let us look at it lookcloser, see what else the Lord
has to say outside of what wealready know.

(02:16):
Come on, somebody, make sureyou got your Bibles.
If you're riding along, makesure you got your ears open to
hear what thus says the lordamen.
So chapter three of genesis sayshe says, starts out verse one.
Now, the serpent was moresubstantial than any beast of
the field, which of which thelord god had made uh.

(02:40):
And he said unto the woman Yeahath.
God said ye shall not eat ofevery tree of the garden.
Amen.
Some said it was about sayclever, yeah, he was very smart,
very slick, very cunning, charismatic, all of that.

(03:02):
Yeah, this is the identity ofthe serpent.
You hear me Slick, charismatic, just you know, got all the
right answers and, just you know, knows it all.
He got all the answers, yeah, yeah, yeah, those are serpents
that kind of creep around inthat life.
Try to, you know, try toconvince us that, hey, let's do

(03:26):
this over here, and you know itain't right.
And come on, let's do that overthere.
I know I don't need to be overthere.
Makes us look, make us think, make us question, make us doubt

(03:48):
Whatever God has told us.
Come on I know I ain't the onlyone.
Y'all heard me Amen.
Make us doubt, question whatGod said to be true.
Hallelujah, gotta.
Stay near and dear to him.
I'm telling you you got to stayclose to Jesus, amen.
You got to stay in your word, amen.

(04:09):
So you will be able torecognize the lie when it comes,
because you know the truth.
Amen.
The enemy is playing with whatyou don't know.
He's using it to his advantage.
So I, I sincerely tell you thisstay close to jesus, amen.

(04:36):
The closest way we get to jesusis two ways his word and having
a prayer life, amen, hallelujah, receive it.
Now, that was a nugget forsomebody.
Receive that nugget.
Nugget in the name of jesus, going on.
So he asked the question did hereally say that you couldn't

(05:00):
eat up every single tree in thegarden?
But you know, obviously, um,the woman looks around like what
?
Like oh boy, it's kind of like, well, what you mean?
Yeah, you had a moment whereyou just something comes to you
all of a sudden, somebody says,I mean, you say they're kind of

(05:22):
like what?
Wait a minute, what are youtalking about?
Yeah, it begins to peakinterest, right?
So, he says.
The woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit, of
the fruit of the trees, of thegarden, he said, but of the
fruit of the tree which is inthe midst of the garden, god

(05:44):
have said you shall not eat ofit, neither shall you touch it,
lest ye die.
So she rehearses, or tells theserpent what god has told them
amen.
Well, god told us to eat of allthe fruit, but we can't eat of
that one.
We ain't supposed to eat that, because you know, we don't die

(06:04):
if we do that.
And it's like one of thosethings where we know, you know
God has said something to us andwe say, well, I know we ain't
supposed to do that, becausethis, this, this, this, you know
X, y, z, whatever have you,because it's this, that and the
other.
We know it.
We already know the consequenceof messing with something that

(06:31):
God.
Come on your parents, come onsomebody, your balls.
Somebody told you don't messwith this, because this is what
will happen if you do.
Yeah, and we kind of look at itlike yeah.
So he says four, and the serpentsaid unto the woman you shall
not surely die.
He's like what you mean?
You ain't gonna die?
You really believe that youain't gonna die?
Come on, you got somebody inyour life that's kind of like

(06:53):
man.
You don't believe that, do you?
That ain't gonna really happen.
Yeah, even you yourselfconvince yourself that ain't
gonna really happen, that ain'tgonna hurt nothing.
Come on just a little bit.
That ain't gonna hurt.
Have it up.
That ain't gonna hurt nothing.
Come on just a little bit.
Ain't gonna hurt.
Ain't gonna hurt a thing.
Yeah, familiar, right.
He says verse five, for god, doit know that in the day ye eat

(07:14):
thereof, then your eyes shall beopen and ye shall be a woman
and ye shall be as gods knowinggood and evil.
Caveat of verse 5.
He says he says God trying tokeep something from you.
Basically, he says God keepingsomething from you, man, don't

(07:38):
you know that if you eat this,if you go and you mess with that
, you're going to be able to seebetter.
You're going to be able to seeclear, you're going to be able
to see everything.
You're going to be like him.
You're going to know all things.
You're going to have all theanswers.
Come on, man, how you ever hadbest?
You all the answers.

(07:59):
Come on, man, how you ever had?
That's your peer pressure.
Peer pressure for your tail.
You heard, hello somebody, peerpressure.
They say come on, man, ain'tgonna hurt nothing.
Come on, come on, they say allof this.
And they say that to convinceyou of what you know what they
saying.
I ought not do that, but I am abit curious.
Come on, we all guilty, amen.

(08:20):
We get a little guilty aboutwanting to try that thing.
I've already been told it mighthurt me, it might harm me, it
might do this and it might dothat, it might do that.
But then you have that othervoice that says I don't know it
look good, it feel good.

(08:41):
Oh yeah, it's like being in arelationship with somebody that
you already know he a dog.
You already know that she, sheain't keeping her, her keeping
herself, just for you.
You already know, but you say,can change them.
Oh, they ain't going to do thatto me.
You already know the lifestylethat they live, you already know

(09:04):
how they move and how they roll, but you get this or something
comes over you and say wait aminute.
Something comes over you andsay wait a minute.
Well, you begin to compromise, begin to look at it differently.

(09:25):
Now, another thing that I caughtthat was interesting about this
particular verse.
He said then your eyes wereopen, your eyes will be open.
How did they know that theyweren't?
Come on, how did Adam and Eveor Eve know that her eyes
weren't open?
Do you understand what I'msaying?
The enemy knows how to depositlittle questions in your mind,

(09:46):
in your heart, that will say, well, maybe, oh well, wait a
minute.
Well, what if?
What?
You know, and when we begin toentertain the questions, this is
when we begin to walk out ofthe will of God, this is when we
begin to do our own thing, amen.

(10:09):
Look at verse 6.
He said and when the woman sawthat the tree was good for food
and it was pleasure to the eyesand a tree to be desired to make
one wise, she took of the fruitthereof and did eat, and gave
it also her husband with her,and he did eat.

(10:32):
So verse 6 gives us anindication that Adam wasn't far
away.
Yeah, adam was near and dear toher, he was right there with
her.
But the enemy came after Eve.
First, amen Wonder.
Why Could it be?
Because Eve is Adam's weakness.

(10:55):
You hear me?
A good woman alongside of a goodman, I'm telling you, if you
got a woman, I wouldn't say agood woman, but you got a woman
alongside a man.
Look, a woman can do bedangerous to a man.
I'm talking about male, andmale and female.
A woman can be dangerous to aman, excuse me.

(11:16):
And even first vice versaanother person that gets close
to you, they can become your, they can become your bigger,
biggest hindrance.
Unfortunately, in a marriage,unfortunately, period in a
marriage, unfortunately, periodIn a marriage relationship, god

(11:40):
has brought the woman to be ahelp to the man, hallelujah.
And so you, as the individual, you got to stay closest to him,
and I'm talking about god.
You got to stay close to godbecause I'm telling you, even

(12:03):
based on the scripture, theenemy comes after one, after the
one that is the weakest.
Okay, because he already knows.
Because you're weak in an areaof your life, he can use that
thing against you and create afootstone or foothold in your
life.
He's coming after wherever youare weak and I'm telling you, he

(12:27):
comes back.
He comes for even the strongest.
Yeah, this race is not given forthe swift or the strong.
You heard me.
He's coming after you.
You're strong in the word.
Hallelujah, you are, you know, you're mighty in the word.
You're doing things for thekingdom.
He's coming after you and he'scoming wherever your weak is.

(12:50):
Now he might not come after youdirectly, but he will come
after those that will make youweak.
You heard me, directly, but hewill come after those that will
make you weak.
You heard me, the serpent cameafter Eve because he already
knew she's his weakest link.
Whatever she wants, he's goingto do it.
He's going to give it to her.
He's going to do for her whatnobody else will.

(13:15):
So she is his weakness.
What is your weakness today?
Amen, because whatever yourweakness is, this is where the
enemy is coming.
One of my great, greatweaknesses, I believe that one
of my greatest weaknesses is myhusband, and so the enemy uses

(13:38):
him against me at times, areasthat would, uh, make me question
him, amen, in different ways.
Do you understand that he'scoming for my husband?
Probably 90 percent of the time, that's the the direction comes
through my husband to get to,uh, to get to me.

(13:59):
To do what?
To distract me, to move me outof purpose, to make me forget
what I'm supposed to be doing.
You heard me.
Hallelujah.
So our greatest blessing canbecome our greatest weakness as
well.
Hallelujah.
So keep your eyes open.
Look at verse six again.
He said the woman saw the tree.

(14:20):
It was good for food.
So I truly believe that he umwent for.
The lust of the eye talks aboutthe lust of the eye and the
pride of life.
And the pride and the lust ofthe eyes in I think it's 1 John,
I don't know exactly the verse,but it's in 1 John he talks

(14:42):
about this is how we fall.
Yeah, these are the threegreatest things make us fall.
And here he said she saw thatthe tree was good for food.
So she forgot all about that.
The first thing that got herwas the fact that it looked good
.
You know we can eat with oureyes.

(15:02):
Yeah, so it looked good.
Then he says the tree.
He says wait a minute, he said, and it was pleasant to the eye.
So she knew she saw that itwould satisfy a temporary need.
Okay, folk do that with alcohol, people do that with drugs,

(15:24):
they do that with sex, they dothat with money.
They say they see a temporaryneed and their eyes, it becomes
a magnet, it draws them in.
And then once you get in, thenyou start feeling the effects
from that thing and it feelsgood, he said, and it was
pleasant to the eyes.

(15:46):
Oh man, that looked good, wait aminute.
I never paid no attention to itbefore.
It's been sitting there foryears.
It's been sitting there fordays.
It's been sitting there fordays.
I didn't even notice it.
But all of a sudden somethingclicks in your mind and your
heart and you're drawn to it.
You see it and you're like whoa, what is that?
Oh my God, that look good.
Oh my God, it looks so good.

(16:07):
Then she says, then it says anda tree to be desired to make
one wise Wait.
How is this thing going tobenefit me.
How can this thing make meforget what I'm supposed to be
doing?
Come on, this is then it says, and she took up the fruit, let

(16:29):
me try it.
I got to try it.
Yeah, how many times do we trythings?
Based on how it looks, based onhow it feels?
She gave in to the temptation.
She ate.
And not only did she eat, shegave it to her husband, her
husband, because he put hisheart trust in her.

(16:50):
No question, I'm going to eatit, you're you know.
We live in a world where, youknow, people take this verse and
they say, oh, it's all hisfault, this than the other.
Well, he did come after thewoman first, yeah, but the woman
came out of the man.
The man has been given enoughstrength to deny himself and

(17:14):
deny his weakness.
Come on, somebody.
He's been given enough strength, but the only way that he can
walk in a strength that doesn'tcome out of himself is if he
stays close to the strength.
Amen, god has given the man aninnate ability to be able to

(17:37):
stand, to be able to be the headand not the tail.
It's been given to him.
Hallelujah, amen.
So that's that, you know, as faras the man and the woman had.
A woman made the man fall.
Oh, it's an age-old argument, yeah, and it keeps the body

(17:58):
separated all day, every day.
You heard me.
It keeps my husbands and wivesseparated.
It keeps a lot of things goingthat don't even have to be.
Amen, hallelujah, it don't haveto be.
This is just the truth.
This is the reason why shefailed, and you gotta be aware

(18:19):
of why you fall or how you canfall.
If you understand thefundamental truth of how you
fall to temptation, then whenthe temptation comes, you will
take the way of escape versusfalling into it.
The choice is yours, amen.

(18:39):
So I'm gonna stop right there, amen.
And we're gonna pick up ontomorrow at verse seven.
See how far the spirit takes usbefore we wrap it up for the
weekend and we catch two moreepisodes of God's Diamonds in
the Rough on Friday and SaturdayAmen.
So let's go ahead and pray.

(18:59):
Father, we thank you so muchfor your grace and your mercy.
Thank you, god, for allowing usthis time in your word.
Pray for every diamond thatheard it was able to receive it.
Pray.
The blessings of the Lord beupon them.
Whatever they might bestruggling with, whatever the
issue might be the circumstancesare.
Pray, god, that you would workit out for that good, for your
glory.

(19:20):
Father, we love you so verymuch, so very thankful, so
grateful.
We pray it, we ask it in jesuschrist's name.
We do pray.
Amen, amen and amen, hallelujahagain y'all, make sure y'all

into this third chapter ofgenesis.

of, or whatever.
