Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hello, hello, welcome
back to Learning to Live and
True, right here on God'sDiamond in the Rough.
So glad to be before you onemore time.
I hope all is well.
I hope you're having a greatday, a great night.
Oh, excuse me now.
Hope you're having a great day,great night.
Amen, once again, I am here, ready to do it.
(00:29):
Hope you're ready to get intothe word.
Amen, gods, no wrong onelearning to live in truth.
Excuse that god's down in therough, but this is, it's one in
the same.
It's all the same, right?
Yeah, um, there's no separationbecause they're both doing the
same thing.
Um, only difference betweenlearning, living true and god's
(00:51):
diamonds in the rough is that,um, michael's not here most of
the time and we're notinterviewing anybody.
Um, that's the only differencebetween the two, but still
rooted in the word of God.
So it's all the same.
I'm still asking God for clarityhow we bring this thing
together.
But until then, this is howwe're going to do it and we're
(01:15):
going to pray.
All right, let's go.
Father, we thank you so muchfor your grace and your mercy.
Thank you, god, for allowing usto come together once again to
get into your word.
I pray in the name of Jesus, that you will have your way here
.
Pray for everyone who comesinto the room, everyone who
comes in and has an ear to hear.
Not only would they have an earto hear, but have a mind and a
(01:37):
heart to receive what it is thatyou have for them.
Pray, in the name of Jesus, that you will use me to your
glory, that I might be a lightto the kingdom and a help to
your people.
I pray, god, that you would usethis platform to that.
It would help to disciple yourchildren.
Pray, god, that you would useit to your glory.
Have your way.
I thank you and we praise youIn Jesus Christ's name.
(01:59):
We do pray, amen, amen,hallelujah.
I don't know if y'all notice Idon't never do this the same.
I don't, amen, I don't do thisthe same and, um, I just just
follow the spirit.
Amen, this is what we gottalearn how to do.
Over the years I've learnedjust follow the spirit, he won't
lead you wrong.
Amen, hallelujah.
(02:20):
So we left off.
We finished up chapter three onyesterday.
Now we are picking up chapterfour of genesis.
Amen, talking about cain andabel.
So let's go.
He says chapter four, verse oneof genesis.
He said of genesis says andadam knew eve, his wife, and she
conceived, and bare cain, andsaid I have gotten a man from
(02:43):
the Lord, all right.
So when the Bible talks aboutwhen he said when they knew,
knew, for biblically, isintimacy sex, okay, so he slept
with his wife, she gets pregnant.
Then, first, tuesday, verse 2says and she again bare his
(03:08):
brother, abel, and Abel was akeeper of the sheep, but Cain
was a tiller of the ground.
So now she has two children, both two different professions,
like night and day.
Okay, verse 3.
And in the process of time, itcame to pass.
They came brought of the fruitof the ground and offering unto
(03:33):
God, unto the Lord.
Hold on y'all, let's switch mymusic.
Yeah, alright, let's see I likethis one.
Yeah, okay.
(03:59):
So as they grew up, so theygrew up young men doing what
they do.
And now it's time to bringofferings unto the lord.
Okay, uh, cain brought hisoffering of fruit.
Okay, because what he was, awhat the bible tells us?
That cain was a tiller of theground.
(04:22):
Okay, so he was like a farmer.
Yeah, all right.
Now he says and abel, he alsobrought four of the first of the
firstlings, firstlings Of hisflock and of the fact Thereof.
(04:42):
And Lord, have respect untoAbel and his offering.
Okay, and so Cain.
No, I'm sorry y'all, I'm alittle distracted at the moment.
I'm glad y'all see me right now.
Gosh, um, let's see Abel.
(05:05):
He was a shepherd.
Okay, so Abel was a shepherd.
Cain is a farmer.
Okay, verse five.
He says but unto Cain and tohis offering, he had not respect
(05:27):
.
Cain was very wroth, wroth isangry and his continence failed.
So he was angry.
Not only was he angry, but hecould see it.
Okay, you could see that he wasangry.
Now he says, he says, and I'mgoing to come back and explain a
little bit more of what I'velearned over the years and what
(05:48):
the spirit is revealing to meright now.
So he says and the Lord, god, said unto Cain, why art thou
wroth?
So he says why are you angryand why is thy continence fallen
?
Why are you angry and why isthat continence falling?
Why are you angry?
And what you know?
What's going on?
He says if thou do as well, shall thou not be accepted, and
if thou do is not well, sin liedat the door and unto thee shall
(06:11):
be his desire and thou shallHis desire, and thou shalt rule
over him.
Okay, so let's back up for amoment.
He says, okay, so let's look atwhat they gave.
So Cain brought of the fruit ofthe grain, an offering, an
offering.
So he brought the offering.
(06:32):
He brought an offering, but hejust gave him an offering, just
that.
Okay, abel.
Look at an offering.
Just that, okay, abel.
Look at the difference.
This is Abel.
He also brought of thefirstling, the firstling of his
flock and of the fat thereof.
So what's the difference?
(06:54):
Think about it.
So what's the difference?
Think about it.
Abel gave the first of hisflock, whereas Cain just gave an
offering.
Let's make it plain.
You ever felt like people peoplesometimes watch us, yeah, and
(07:17):
not.
Sometimes.
People sometimes watch us, yeah, and not.
Sometimes people always watchus.
And, um, it's unfortunate, evenin the church people are
watching what you're giving, andsome folk they just give God,
whatever it is $10, $20.
But they look at you and everyweek you give your 10%, your
(07:42):
first out of your.
You know, your first, your 10%,whatever have you, okay, and
they watch you be blessed by God.
And they say, well, I'm doing,I'm giving my money too.
Why come this ain't happeningfor me?
Money too, why come this ain'thappening for me?
And and rather than gettinginto the word and finding out,
(08:03):
or talking to God and saying youknow what?
What am I doing wrong?
Why aren't you pleased?
Cain didn't ask.
Why aren't you pleased withwhat I've given you?
That's a sincere heart, and thisis the type of heart and
posture that we need to have.
If we're not going to do whathe tells us to do, we can at
(08:27):
least talk to him and ask himhow I can do what you told me to
do.
Do you understand what I mean?
Because we don't always do whatwe're supposed to do in the
sight of God, and we know, andthe thing about it is we don't
always do what we're supposed todo.
We don't know what we'resupposed to do.
(08:49):
We get mad at somebody else isdoing what we are supposed to be
doing.
We get mad at them, get mad atGod, because you know they are
being rewarded for doing well.
Well, I'm sure, if you do whatyou're supposed to do, you'll be
rewarded and recognized fordoing well, just as the other
(09:13):
person did Well here, in thiscase Cain.
Rather than him talking to hisfather and asking him what he
can do to make this offeringright.
He got mad, he got angry and, rather than him looking at
himself and what he did, hebegan to look at his brother.
(09:34):
Did?
He began to look at his brother, amen, and began to hate on him
.
God is not pleased withjealousy and envy.
Don't look at them sideways, because God is pleased with what
they've given to him.
Amen, you got to learn how tofocus on what you're giving him
(09:55):
and whether or not it pleaseshim.
Amen, if we know better, hewill hold us accountable.
Let me say that again if weknow better, he will hold us
accountable.
Amen, he will not hold youaccountable for what you don't
know.
Cain knew better.
(10:17):
Cain knew how and when and whathe was supposed to give unto
the Lord out of what he had beengiven.
He knew, but he did not.
And then, rather than himgetting um being humble, as if
for forgiveness, and talking toGod about it, he decided I'm mad
at you.
(10:37):
I'm going to get mad at youbecause you know you got the
advantage over me.
Look at verse eight.
And Cain talked with Abel, hisbrother and it came to pass,
when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel,
his brother, and slew him.
He got mad at the wrong one.
He should have been mad athimself because he knew better,
(11:01):
amen.
And he went and he began totalk to Abel and I'm sure our
argument broke out.
Abel probably just kind of likedude, what is wrong with you?
I just gave what I was supposedto give.
Why are you mad at me?
Type of thing.
And even I mean and you neverknow he could have been saying
to to Abel give me, give me whatyou get, the same thing that
(11:25):
you gave me, gave God, give itto me so I can give it to him.
Or you know, abel could havetried to tell him, you know, um,
what he needed to do in orderto please god.
You don't know what, what theconversation was about, but we
get an idea here that what wassaid, kane didn't like it, amen,
(11:46):
and because he didn't like it,he ended up killing his brother.
And this is the first notedmurder, um in the bible.
So you know the things that weexperience in this world is
definitely in the bible.
This is the first murder.
He looked and he he says inverse nine and the lord said
unto cain where is abel, thybrother?
(12:08):
As if he didn't knew, it didn'tknow, he already knew.
He said.
He said I know not, I am.
He said am I my brother'skeeper?
So he asked him where he was.
Right.
Then cain's response is I don'tknow.
Then he says I'm not I.
(12:31):
I can't keep up with him, I'mnot gonna keep up with him.
Okay, that was verse 10.
Now verse 11.
He says and now art thou cursedfrom the earth, which hath
opened her mouth to receive thybrother's blood from thy hand?
So again, god already knew whatCain had done.
(12:51):
This was Cain's opportunity tofess up and be humble, tell the
Lord what he did.
But he did not.
And so, because he did not, hewas cursed because of the blood,
innocent blood, that was shedby his brother.
This is what happened to JesusInnocent blood was shed on the
(13:13):
cross for the people that heloved.
Verse 12, he says and when thoutillest the ground, it shall not
henceforth yield unto thee herstrength.
A fugitive and a vagabond, shalt thou be in the earth.
So he says, because you didthis, he says when you go out
(13:38):
there to work, you won't yieldwhat you could have been
yielding.
Okay, the earth won't give youits best, so you might get.
Because he tilled the ground.
You might get, you know, youmight plant, and you might get,
you know, your carrots.
You might get your cucumbers, you might get your potatoes, you
might get, you know, yourcarrots.
You might get your cucumbers, you might get your potatoes.
You might get, uh, you knowyour watermelon, but it won't be
(14:02):
the best.
You understand what I'm saying.
You'll get something, but itwon't be your best because it
does not gonna give him thestrength it won't give it.
It's, it's, it's best.
Yeah, he says you'll be afugitive.
Fugitive is like a runaway and avag vagabond thou shalt be.
Now.
Vagabond is, as he says, cain'spunishment destroyed the
(14:25):
livelihood as a farmer andturned him into a vagabond.
Let me see exactly what avagabond is, real quick for you.
Let me see here, and I havethat written down somewhere.
I don't have it with me rightnow, so I'm going to my apple,
my phone, which is king jamesversion, study bible, which has
(14:49):
a bible in all differentdifferent versions of
concordance, concordance, adictionary, devotional, all
kinds of stuff in thisparticular act.
So Vagabond is Is a Wandering, moving From place to place
(15:18):
Without any settled habitation,as a vagabond exile.
So you could equate that to nowwhere it would be a homeless,
like a, like a bum on the street, just going from place to place
.
Yeah, and he's a fugitive andso.
(15:46):
So this is now the life of Cain, and you know what I read 12.
And 13.
But I skipped 10.
So when we look at 10.
I'm just back up for a moment,y'all just hold your place, hold
your mind at 12.
But verse 10, he said.
He said but hast thou done?
The voice of thy brother'sblood cried unto me from the
ground.
(16:06):
Yeah, so, um, I mean, I mean,it's a vivid picture of Jesus
and everything that he enduredAt the cross.
What we got to know Is that allof these stories Are symbolic
and they teach the message andthe story of Jesus Amen.
(16:27):
Everything that was inflictedon him, everything he endured,
was a picture of Jesus, amen.
So, coming back to 12.
, cain is now a fugitive.
Fugitive is always on the runfor their life and a vagabond is
(16:48):
a bum.
You know, it's just going fromplace to place, I wouldn't even
say a bum, but you heard ofthose people that kind of jump
from a hobo, that's what theycall them.
They jump from train to train, they're always moving and never
settle in one place.
Yeah, so let's just equate themto like a hobo and a fugitive.
(17:10):
Yeah, so look at 13.
And Cain said unto the Lord, mypunishment is greater than I can
bear.
Now he's ready to talk to God.
He says this is too much.
Oh, this is too much.
He says Behold, thou hastdriven me out this day from the
face of the earth, and from thyface shall I be hid, and I shall
(17:31):
be a fugitive and a vagabond inthe earth, and a vagabond in
the earth.
And it shall come to pass thateveryone that findeth me shall
slay me.
So now Cain is fearful, andhe's upset that because he's a
fugitive, because he's avagabond, he's now a target for
(17:56):
attack.
This is his fear.
Verse 15 15.
And god said unto him therefore, whosoever slayeth cain,
vengeance shall be taken on himsevenfold.
And the lord set a mark uponcain.
Thus, any finding him shallkill him.
Amen.
So, um, kind of like anexcavation.
Excavation, I think.
(18:17):
I'm saying it's like when youput out and you kicked out of
where you were, and now you justnowhere.
Yeah, that's kind of like whereCain is now for the moment.
We're going to read a littlefurther, but we don't stop right
here.
Pick up on tomorrow at verse 16.
So Cain committed murder, killed his brother.
(18:39):
Now he's cursed and on the run, trying to live.
So that's where we leave off,and so let's go ahead and pray.
Father, we thank you so muchfor your grace and your mercy.
Thank you, god, for allowing usthis time in your word.
Once again, we bless your nameas we bless your people.
Pray that this was a help toeveryone that has an ear to hear
.
I pray in the name of Jesus, lord, that you would continue to
(19:01):
do a work in us that only youcan do.
Father, we love you so much, sovery grateful, so thankful.
Pray that this prayer, all ofour prayers, are pleasing in
your sight.
In Jesus Christ's name, we dopray.
Amen, amen, hallelujah, what aword right.
Let's come on back here ontomorrow as we journey, continue
(19:22):
to journey through this chapterfour of Genesis.
Amen.
Hopefully we will finish thatup on tomorrow and go ahead and
start into five on the followingday.
So that is the plan, that isthe order.
Tell somebody else about thepodcast, amen, that they might
get a word as well.
(19:43):
Amen, to go through this greatbook.
Y'all, make sure y'all come onback with me on tomorrow, hope
you have a great day, a greatnight.
So much love from me to you,and not only love, but blessing.
Amen From me to you.
Y'all, come on back, we'll seeyou next time.
Amen, amen and amen.
