Join me, Catherine, your host and pastor of Exposed Life Change Ministry, as we continue our exploration into Genesis, specifically chapter 4, verses 16 to 26. We'll unravel the journey of Cain after he leaves the presence of the Lord, settling in the land of Nod, and starting his family line with the birth of Enoch. Together, we reflect on the significance of Enoch's role as a builder and its deeper meaning within God's grand narrative.

As we move through the generations following Cain, meet his wives, and children. Discover how Lamech's sons, Jabal and Jubal, significantly shape the spheres of pastoral life and music, revealing the diverse gifts bestowed by God within a community. Grab your Bibles and prepare to be inspired by the ways God uses ordinary individuals to achieve His extraordinary purposes. Let us uncover how the lives of these early figures mirror our own roles in today's world, guided by divine intentions.

Amen, I'm not going to wasteany time just because we don't
have very long to be before you,so let's go ahead and pray and

(00:47):
get into it, amen.
So, father, we thank you somuch for your grace and your
mercy.
Thank you, god, for allowing usyet another day to be able to
do something that is pleasing inyour sight.
Pray that your will will bedone here.
Pray, god, that you'll continueto bless this platform,
continue to bless every diamondthat comes forth to here.
Pray, god, that where they are,you will meet them there.

(01:10):
I pray in the name of Jesus.
Eyes and ears will be open tohear and see what it is that you
have to give.
Father, we love you so much.
We're so very grateful, sothankful.
We pray it, we ask it in JesusChrist's name.
We do pray amen, amen,hallelujah.
I didn't introduce myselfbecause you should know who I am

(01:30):
by damn, but my name iskathleen amen.
I am also pastor of exposedlife change ministry, amen.
And we are always exposing theenemy.
Amen, exposing them, so youcannot have power in our life,
that we can genuinely truly bechanged for the glory of god.
Amen.
That is what my ministry is allabout.

(01:52):
Amen.
Here's just one of theextensions amen, where we can um
, where the lord is using me tohelp you through the word of God
.
Amen, book by book and verse byverse.
Amen as he leads us.
So we stopped yesterday on uh atverse 15 and we're gonna pick

(02:12):
up right here at 16 of Genesis, chapter 4.
Make sure you got your bibles.
If you're listening in the car,get your ears ears tuned in and
wide open, amen.
But also pay attention to thatroad.
You heard me.
Come on somebody.
Hallelujah.
Excuse the ding.
Amen, that was my messenger.
But verse 16 says and Cain wentfrom the presence of the Lord

(02:36):
and dwelt in the land of Nod andthe, and let's see, in the land
of Nod, on the east of Eden andCain knew his wife and she
conceived and bare Enoch and hebuilt a city and they called the
name of the city after the nameof his son, enoch.
Okay, so in the meantime sometime has definitely passed and

(03:01):
Cain is dwelling in the land ofNod and now has met his wife,
now having a child.
His child is a builderArchitecture, yeah, works with
his hand and built this citycalled Enoch.
Obviously a lot of time, a lotof space in between, but this is

(03:24):
obviously because it's there,because it's highlighted.
It is this young man, enoch.
Uh is important um to um whatGod is building, amen.
So verse 18, he says and untoEnoch was born Irid, and Irid
begat Mahu child and my whochild child, he says, began a

(03:55):
Methusel and Methusel begotLamarck Lamech.
Okay, so we getting into thelineage a little bit here.
So y'all bear with me withpronunciation.
I'll do the best that I can.
Every time I do this uh gets alittle bit better.
Praise god, hallelujah, buty'all bear with me, amen.
So verse 19 he said lamech tookup or took unto him two, and the

(04:20):
name of one was Ada and thename of the other Zillah, and
Ada buried Jabal.
He was the father of such asdwell in tents and of such as
have cattle, and his brother'sname was Jubal.

(04:42):
And his brother's name wasJubal, he was the father of all
such as handled the harp andorgan.
Okay, so he's the father ofmusicians, okay, and Zillah.
She also bore Tubalcan, aninstructor of every artificer in

(05:07):
brass and iron, and so he was ablacksmith and the sister of
Tubalcan was.
And Lamech said unto his wives, adah and Zillah hear my voice,

(05:28):
ye wives of Lamech, hearken untomy speech, for I have slain a
man to my wounding and a youngman to my hurt.
If Cain shall be avengedsevenfold, truly, lamech,
seventy and seven fold.
And Adam knew his wife againand said oh, and she bare a son

(05:53):
and called his name Seth.
For God said she hath appointedme another seed instead of Abel
, whom Cain slew and saith tohim.
Also, there was born a son andhe called his name Enos.
Then began men to call upon thename of the Lord.

(06:16):
Okay, so I just read the wholething to finish it out.
So let's kind of back up of thelord.
Okay, so I just read the wholething to finish it out.
So let's kind of back up, allright.
So last thing I commented onwas it's a blacksmith, this is
okay.
So lemak had two wives and soyou got ada and look, lilla,

(06:46):
zilla, I'm sorry, um, the nameof one was okay that his first
wife, or one of his wives, orJabal, and then Jabal became the
father of, let's see, he wasthe father of such as dwell in
tents and of such as have cattle.

(07:08):
So he's the father.
He became like a shepherd, Iguess you could say.
And his other wife, she boreZabulkin.
No Zabookin, no Tubalkin, Idon't know in the word y'all, he
said an instructor and of everyofficiator of Brass and I a

(07:33):
blacksmith and a sister.
So Zilla had a daughter as welland sister of Tubalkin.
Tubalkin was not Maya, I'msorry, y' like, it's not like.

(07:55):
It probably got a little low asfar as the volume.
I'm just trying to figure outthe words.
I want to make sure that I'msaying as best as I can.
Um, the mac told his two wivesto listen to what he was saying.
He said I have slain a man tomy wounding and a young man to

(08:17):
my hurt.
So what does that mean?
Let's see.
Let's look at the commentary.
Make sure we got a fullunderstanding.
Lamech's speech, the longest bya human being To this point in
the Bible, represents the darkclimax Of the Canaan Canaanite

(08:40):
Genealogy.
His level of retaliationagainst A man for wounding him
and a young man who merely hurthim Goes far beyond the biblical
limits.
Okay, so along the way he gothurt and so he wants to

(09:01):
retaliate.
He physically got hurt, andanother one, let's see.
And a young man who merely hurthim Goes far beyond the
biblical limits, and his boastof killing for vengeance
foreshadows the violence thatled to the flood in Noah's day.

(09:22):
Oh, okay, so he committed thesecond murder, and it lets us
know these are just a couple ofthe reasons why.
Which the Lord was, he wasupset with himself, he had me

(09:48):
and man had just gone buck wild.
Basically, this is why heflooded the earth, because man
had just gone buck wild.
Basically, this is why heflooded the earth, because man
had just gone buck wild.
And this lets us know, based onthe commentary and what we're
hearing in the spirit.
They said this was like a, a thefirst murder was an open door
to to this, this sort of sin, yeah, and so this furthered that

(10:13):
.
It was like, now that that doorwas open, it was like sin began
to come in.
But you know, even though sinhas its authority, it doesn't
prevail.
Sin doesn't prevail because sinis not from God and we know
that he already defeated death, because sin, that's what sin

(10:36):
leads to death and Jesus, through his obedience, gained
victory over death.
So, I don't care how muchstrength have, how much strength
sin and death sin has, how muchuh destruction it causes, how
much pain, how much murder, howmuch everything that's attached

(11:00):
to sin, it still doesn't win,you know.
But it's definitely a thing,sin.
I mean, you'd be a fool to notadmit that.
Sin doesn't have power, becauseit does.
It does it?
Sin kills, steals and destroys?
Yeah, it does it, but itdoesn't prevail the end of the

(11:21):
day, even though, uh, just likea tornado or or a hurricane or
anything, that is strong, it'sstrong and it does leave a mark,
but it doesn't kill or destroythe purpose of the plan of god.
It doesn't because we see, um,the aftermath of a, of a tornado

(11:47):
, the aftermath of hurricanes, how it destroys, uh, whatever
comes into its path.
But it does not, um, it doesnot completely defeat.
I mean, some places don'trebuild some homes, some old
homes can't be rebuilt, sureenough, but a new home can be

(12:10):
built for those who are a victimto it, if that makes any sense.
I hope that makes sense.
I'm just leaning on the Spiritto guide me in words that make
the Scripture verses make senseAmen.
So Lamech is like, he's like.

(12:31):
You know, cain killed hisbrother.
He said, you know, I did evenworse than he did, and so in a
sense he is.
Even though he took revenge outon himself, well, he got back
at who hurt him.
It still doesn't excuse it.
Basically, that's what 24 tellsme.

(12:53):
Yeah, it doesn't excuse the act.
Yeah, even though they didsomething to you, it does not
give you permission to respondor take vengeance, because the
Bible does clearly tell usvengeance is mine, amen.
So he knows he's kind of, in asense, haveouncy over his head

(13:18):
Because you know, because he didwhat he did and you know, from
here we don't see anything Anyfurther that Speaks to you know
to that.
But we'll see, probably In five,because I see Verse 28 and 29 A
little bit more about Lamech'sDescendants.
So we just going to go on.

(13:39):
Then, in 25 and 26, we seewhere Adam he impregnates his
wife and they have another child.
His name is Seth, and then thisis when they say that men began
to call the name of the Lord.

(13:59):
So we'll stop right there.
I know it's kind of early, butwe'll stop there and get into
five for tomorrow.
We actually recently did this ina Bible study that we have on
Wednesdays from 5 to 6 on site.
We went through Genesis and nowwe are in Exodus, and so in

(14:27):
doing this previously, I cantell you that these descendants
people typically just kind ofbrush over it, but they're
important to understanding who'swho as we go along in the other
chapter of the Bible.
So you know, I highly suggestwriting down, kind of doing like

(14:49):
a family tree with thedescendants.
It is difficult to do.
I've tried to do in personalstudy.
It's a difficult thing to do,but it can be done if you put
your mind to it.
So you know, that's one taskthat you could probably add on
to as we go through here, as webegin to get into the

(15:09):
descendants.
You could build a tree, and Imyself I think I might do that
Just kind of, just to do it,just to do it, to have it to
kind of look at maybe in otherteaching sessions, and so there
you have it for today Y'all.

(15:30):
Make sure y'all come on backwith me tomorrow as we dig.
Make sure you bring your penand your paper, something to
write down or try to create yourfamily tree, starting in the
beginning.
So, without further ado, let'sgo ahead and pray.
Father, we thank you so much.
Be a grace and your mercy.
Once again, we bless your nameas we bless your people.

(15:51):
I thank you so much for drawingus yet again here to get into
your word.
Pray that all is pleasing andacceptable in your sight.
Pray that I've done it well.
Pray that you are pleased.
I pray that everyone, everydiamond that is here, they got
what they were supposed to getout of the lesson.
I pray the blessings of theLord be upon your people as we

(16:12):
continue to go forth in yourname.
We pray that this is againpleasing to you.
We pray all of it in theprecious name of Jesus Christ.
We do pray.
Amen, amen and amen.
Again, come on back with metomorrow and let's pick it up,
chapter 5.
So many blessings, so much lovefrom me to you Y'all.

(16:35):
Have a good day and a goodnight.
Amen, amen and amen.
