Discover the profound narratives of Genesis with me, Catherine, as we explore the remarkable stories of Adam's lineage. What can Adam's role as the first man teach us about our own lives? We engage in a reflective journey through the creation of man and woman, the generational legacy from Adam to Seth, and witness the enduring nature of God's blessings amid human failures. Join us as we examine the consequences of violence in Lamech's descendants and embrace the wisdom embedded in these ancient texts.

In this episode of Learning To Live In Truth, I share a personal encounter with a biblical genealogy scroll that has deeply enriched my understanding of scripture, providing a comprehensive view from Genesis to the New Testament. As we explore the incredible lifespans of biblical figures such as Adam, Seth, and Enos, we are reminded of God's unwavering purpose in our lives. Our heartfelt journey is not complete without the power of prayer, and I invite you to support God's Diamond Network here at God's Diamond in the Ruff. Let's continue to align with the divine, share love, and grow together in faith. Much love and many blessings to you all until we connect again on Monday.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
it is the last day of the week for learning to live
in truth.
We are so glad to be with youone more time here on god's
diamonds in the rough.
We are so glad once again to behere and be able to minister to
you.
But the lord says to hallelujahso um, if you don't know who I

(00:27):
am, you should by now.
Oh, my Well, my name isCatherine and I am also pastor
of Exposed Life ChangeMinistries right in the heart of
Madison Heights, virginia.
Amen when we are exposing theenemy.
Amen so that your life cantruly be changed to the glory of

(00:51):
God.
Amen.
So we have been going throughthis great book of Genesis.
Amen.
We have completed 1 John.
We're going to go throughGenesis and, as far as I know,
we'll be going throughRevelation and then we're going
to see where the Lord takes usfrom there.
I definitely know we'll be herefor the rest of the year and

(01:13):
possibly another year, but afterthat we'll see where the Lord
takes us, amen.
I am always continually askingthe Lord to order my steps in a
way that he would have me to go,and I hope you are doing the
same, amen.
So, with that being said, let'sgo ahead and pray.
Father, we thank you so muchfor your grace and your mercy.

(01:35):
Thank you, god, for allowing usyet another day, another
opportunity, god, to get intoyour word.
I pray, in the name of Jesus, that you would speak now, that
we might hear, that we might beable to see what it is you're
trying to say to us.
I pray, in the name of Jesus, for a supernatural understanding

(02:00):
in regard to pronunciation, inregard to what I will go forth
and read, god, because I want tobe a blessing and not a
hindrance, or I want to becompletely understood.
God, as we go forth in thishour, I pray, god, that you will
bless every ear and every heart, every diamond that is here,

(02:20):
god, that they might get what itis you want to give them.
Father, we love you so much andwe're so very grateful, so
thankful.
We pray that this prayer, allof our prayers, are pleasing in
your sight.
In Jesus Christ's name, we dopray Amen, amen, hallelujah.
So we are getting ready to getinto the word Amen, amen,

(02:43):
hallelujah, let's get into theword Amen, amen, hallelujah,
let's get into it.
So we left off.
We start in chapter 5.
Where we left off, we weretalking about the descendants of
Lamech, and it let us know thatanother murder was committed.

(03:06):
Violence had began to reallyshow its ugly face, and so he's
kind of you know, not excusingwhat he's done, but just saying
you know, this is what happened.
And it goes on.
The Bible goes on to talk aboutanother child that Adam and Eve

(03:28):
had together, and we pick uphere at five verse one says this
is the book of the generationsof Adam.
In the day that God created manin the likeness of God, made he
him Male and female, created hethem and blessed them and

(03:50):
called their name Adam.
In the day when they werecreated and Adam lived 130 years
and begat a son in his ownlikeness, after his image, and
called his name Seth.
And the days of Adam after hehad begotten Seth were 800 years
and he begat sons and daughters, and all the days that Adam

(04:15):
lived were 930 years and he died.
Okay, so when we open up thisdoor amen we talk about we get a
refreshing reminder of whatthis book is all about in regard
.
Well, not all about, but we geta reminder of the day that God

(04:39):
created man, the fact that itsays in the likeness of God made
he him.
So God took himself, puthimself into that dirt and
created a being that was likehim and a reflection of him.

(05:05):
He said male and female.
Then he says he blessed themand he made their name Adam.
So the married couple trueenough is two of you, but you're
one in him, okay, one in him.

(05:26):
When God sees husband and wife,he sees husband first, amen,
hallelujah, because he's takingyou out of him, amen.
So when he sees Michael andCatherine, he sees Michael first
.
Not that I am insignificant, not valuable, but he created me

(05:50):
out of the womb of Adam.
Amen, I am his rib, hallelujah, amen.
And so when he looks at myhusband in regard to the family,
he looks at him and says you'reaccountable for her, amen.

(06:11):
What she does, what she doesn'tdo, you are accountable for her
and yourself, amen.
So Adam had his son, seth, at130 years old.
That's like what?
That make your head spin right?
130 years old In this day, having a child?

(06:33):
That's crazy, right?
But the Bible goes on to tellus that after he had Seth, he
lived another 800 years beforehe died.
So that makes 130 plus 800, 930years old when he passed away
jesus.
That's a long time, right?

(06:55):
You imagine living almost athousand years.
Amen, that's dinosaur years.
Right, that's the first.
The length of time the firstman lived in the earth and was
producing and doing everythingthat God had desired for him to
do.
Yeah, so, even though he failedin the very beginning, it did

(07:17):
not stop the purpose of God forhis life.
Amen.
Even though he's sin that is anugget for somebody Even though
you sin, it does not stop thepurpose and the plan of God for
your life.
Matter of fact, it's a part ofit, amen, it's a part of it.
Amen.

(07:37):
The failures, the mistakes andall of that Are what God wants
to do in and through you.
Amen, amen, hallelujah.
So don't despise theshortcomings, don't despise it,
because it's all a part of yourupcoming Hallelujah To God.
Be the glory.
Receive that Amen.

(07:59):
Now verse six.
He says and Seth lived 105years and begat Enos.
And Seth lived after he begatEnos 807 years.
So he lived.
He didn't live as long as hisfather, but he lived after he

(08:22):
had his first child.
He lived 807 years, versus AdamLiving 800 years After the
birth Of Seth.
So he said and he begat sonsand daughters, and all the days
of Seth Were 912 years and hedied, y'all excuse me.

(08:46):
So 930 years for Adam, 912years for his son, seth, he says
, verse 9.
And Enos lived 90 years andbegat Cainan.
Cainan, he says.
And Enos lived after he begatKainan, k-i-n-a-n, k-i-n-a-n, he

(09:17):
says, and Enos lived after hebegat Kainan 815 years and begat
sons and daughters, and all thedays of all the were 905 years
and he died.
Okay, now, remember, enos isSeth, seth's son.

(09:44):
Okay, so that would make Adamthe great grandfather.
No, so that would make Adam thegreat grandfather.
No, that would make Adam thegrandfather of Enos.
Okay, got to keep up with it now, and I was telling y'all last

(10:05):
episode to make sure you getyour pen and paper and do like a
family tree as you go along.
Now, you know you might have tolisten to it a couple of times.
Or you know, just listen to ithere and then go back and get
personal study and do it, youknow, on your own, just because
it's a lot of names, um, but afriend of mine well, actually
not a friend, but mysister-in-law, um, a while back

(10:28):
she gave me a, a it's like ascroll.
It looks like a scroll and it'scalled the biblical.
The bible.
No, the biblical.
Generational general.
No, the biblical genealogy.
I'm looking at y'all and it haslike the beginning, like all,
like who we got who and who wegot I mean, and it's beautiful,

(10:50):
it really is.
Um, I was so grateful, thankful, when she gave it to me.
It's got so much informationfrom genesis, that from actually
the old testament this is, likeyou know, all packed into one.
It's a powerful thing.
Uh, she got it off of amazon.
It's called the biblicalgeneogy and it looks like a
scroll and it's about, I thinkit's 11 by 15.

(11:13):
And I actually have it in aframe on my wall.
That's just how precious it isto me.
So, definitely, if you get theopportunity to get that, go on
Amazon and look for it.
I'm sure you can get that thereor you can create your own.
But, like I said, you gotinformation on that, on this
scroll, um, from genesis all theway to um, the new testament.

(11:37):
Yeah, from the beginning to theend.
Um, it's just packed in withimportant information.
Yeah, that we can definitelyuse in teaching, preaching and
so on and so forth.
Yeah, also, come on back to thescripture.
So Enos was 905 years old whenhe died.
All right, verse 12 he says andKainan lived 70 years and began

(12:04):
and begat Begat MehalalilMehalalil Y'all bear with me
please Mehalalil Mehalalil yeah,he said.

(12:25):
And Kainan lived after he begatMahalalelil 840 years and begat
sons and daughters and all thedays of Kainan were 910 years

(12:46):
and he died years and he died.
And Mahalaleel lived 65 yearsand begat Jared.
And Mahalaleel lived after hebegat Jared 830 years and begat

(13:09):
sons and daughters and all thedays of Mahalaleel were 895
years and he died.
And Jared lived 1062 years andbegat Enoch 62 years and begot
Enoch.

(13:29):
Jared lived after he begotEnoch 800 years and begot sons
and daughters and all the daysof Jared were 962 years and he
died.
I'm going to pause right there.
So so far, jared even outlivedAdam.

(13:51):
He said he lived 962 years andadam lived 930.
So jared lived 32 years longerthan he is.
So jared would be his.
Oh boy, let's see jared goesback.
Let's see you got one, two, three, four, five.

(14:15):
So you got great, great, great, great, great.
So five generations back wouldbe great, five, it would be
great, great, great, great,great.
Grandpa, adam is wow, that's alot right.
Yeah, absolutely, man.

(14:35):
So I'm gonna stop right there, okay, because that's a lot of
information and you want to taketime to write it all down.
I'm gonna come back on mondayand we're gonna pick it up,
because we have a lot of namesstill yet to go through.
Um, yeah, yeah, we still got, yeah, so we don't we?

(14:58):
Yeah, yeah, we'll stop rightthere.
I want to go forward, y'all, but for time's sake I'm gonna
stop, just because I have to.
I have to keep my, my time nomore than 20 minutes at the most
.
I'm going to stop right thereand we're going to go ahead and
pray.
Father, we thank you so muchfor your grace and your mercy

(15:20):
again, and I thank you, god, forushering me through saying
these names, yeah, and I thankyou that people are following
along and getting what they need, and I pray that this helps All
that has an ear to hear.
Father, I love you and we loveyou and we pray that this prayer

(15:41):
and all of our prayers arepleasing, pleasing in your sight
.
We pray this prayer in JesusChrist's name.
We do pray.
Amen, amen and amen, alright,y'all.
So I know that was a bit heavy, but, um, what are the things
that we can think about as wewrap up and get ready to go home
?
We can actually think about thelife expectancy or the life

(16:07):
span at that time.
I mean, that's a long time.
You can only imagine the thingsthat they did, the things that
they built, the things that theyproduced in that time.
You're talking about almost acentury or decade.
I think it's a decade.
Yeah, almost a decade of life Aman from one person.

(16:32):
Imagine how many children theymight have had.
Everything that was going on atthat time.
I mean, come on, they ain't haveno laws like that.
Because we hear about the laws,we didn't really hear anything
about the laws.
Well, we didn't hear about thelaws.
I'm sure there were laws inplace, because what I found out

(16:55):
over the years of studying theWord of God is that each book
offers a different perspectiveof the time.
So when you talk about, like, when you look at the book of
chronicles, you'll find outthings that was happening in
genesis and kind of put inperspective into this one big

(17:15):
story.
It's like you know, we say itabout the new testament all the
time.
It's a good example markmatthew, mark, luke and john
they was all there with jesus, but each of them had a different
position, different perspective, a different um.
They was like seated in adifferent room, um, and so what

(17:37):
we hear from their perspectiveit's the same time, just a
different perspective.
I did because, you know, onewas in a different place, where
it's enough, so they didn't heareverything, but they heard
enough to verify that what theothers say was true.
So this is kind of like thepicture, the Old Testament, that
way, you know, even though it'sdivided up in different ways.

(18:00):
But I would guarantee that inthis 800 years, somewhere along
the line, you had, all of thelaws that are in Exodus were
instituted at some point in time, just as all of the laws at
some point in time wasinstituted in regard to numbers,

(18:22):
I mean everything, you know.
It all works together, amen, tomake this great story of God's
creation and God's creation andGod's provision and God's
protection, and on and on and onand on, amen.
So you know, I guess my, myword is don't get caught up in,

(18:47):
you know, don't get so caught upin the legalistic side of the
word of god.
If nothing else, this book ismore about us personally.
It really is a personal, um,it's a personal book about your
life, amen, and what it can looklike, what it will look like,
what can happen and won't happen.

(19:07):
You know this is life's manual.
Yeah, at the end of the day, this is your manual for life,
amen.
And so it's going to bepersonal.
It's only as personal as youmake it.
Let's put it that way only aspersonal as you make it.
So make it as personal aspossible as possible, amen.
So y'all make sure that y'alltune in friday and saturday, as

(19:28):
we have two interviews fromgod's diamonds in the rough.
I mean, we're getting down tothe last little bit that we have
pre-recorded and um, after thatwe're gonna see where the lord

ordinary or beginning to dointerview ordinary people, like

(19:49):

So we don't see, that was justa little, lord, I get a little
something I just put in the air.
Y'all be in prayer for me as Igo forth.
Amen, because I definitely wantto be following the will of God
and not doing Catherine's thing.
You understand what I'm saying?
Hallelujah.
So y' I'm saying Hallelujah.
Y'all be praying for me.
Pray for God's Diamond Network, pray for God's Diamond in the

(20:10):
