Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hello, today I want
to talk about something and I'm
going to jump around maybe alittle bit.
As you hear, my voice is better, I'm getting much better than
what I was.
But you know, this is somethingthat has happened to someone
that I love and I wanted to do apodcast about it and I really
(00:24):
felt like it was important thatthere are other people out there
that's going through the samething and they really really
would need to hear this.
Well, you know it has beenhorrible trying to get this done
.
My old computer that I alwaysuse had to be sent back to HP
because there was somethingwrong with it and they were
(00:46):
going to fix it and send it backto me.
Well, I have a small computer,so I started using that and then
, when it was time for me to dothis podcast, my Audition, which
is the software I use to do mypodcast, wouldn't work, and then
the computer just quit workingaltogether.
(01:07):
Then it started working again, but Audition still didn't work.
So I decided to try Audacity, which is another software that
you can use to record podcastsin, and it didn't work.
So I completely reinstalledeverything on that little pc and
(01:29):
came back and I opened upaudacity, because that's the
only one I'd put on there and itworked.
So I said fine, I'm gonna getto do my podcast.
I did a few other things, gotthe picture I wanted for the
podcast and and opened Audacityand it wouldn't record.
Satan doesn't want you to hearwhat I have to say, I guess.
(01:51):
But what we're going to talkabout is when we are walking
with God and we really feel likewe're doing what he's leading
us to do and everything seems tobe falling into place and
(02:11):
everything seems to feel right, and then all of a sudden, one of
the things that God had sentyou in all of this gets taken
away, just kind of pulled rightout from underneath you.
And that's hard because we'retrusting God to lead us, we're
(02:37):
trusting God to be the one thathas everything under control,
but for us having to walk awayfrom something that we thought
God had led us to, it's kind ofdefeating.
But you know there are reasonsfor it.
(03:01):
Maybe God led you to this thingto learn something and you'd
learned it and you needed tomove on to something else.
But it is very difficult andyou know we need to realize that
it is God who is in control andwhen these things happen, we
(03:27):
need to remember Isaiah 55, 8through 9, where it says For my
thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says
the Lord.
For as the heavens are higherthan the earth, so are my ways
higher than yours and my thoughtthan your thoughts.
He already knows what's goingon.
(03:50):
He knows what's going to happenin the future One of the things
that I've told people whenthey've lost someone that they
loved, they didn't understandwhy he left so soon and I said
you know, but God knows.
God knows if he stayed herewhat would have happened to him,
(04:12):
and God took him home.
And that's kind of the same waywith this.
God knows what's going tohappen.
He is in control.
Proverbs 3, 5 through 6 saystrust the in the lord with all
of your heart and lead not toyour own understanding.
(04:33):
In all your ways, acknowledgehim and he shall direct thy
paths.
So if you're on the path thathe's put you on and something
gets pulled out away from youthat you thought God gave you,
well, you know what he probablydid.
(04:53):
But our thoughts and histhoughts are not the same.
No, even Job understood that.
I mean, look at all the thingsJob lost.
And Job said in Job 1:21, andhe said naked I came from my
(05:15):
mother's womb and naked I shallreturn there.
The Lord gave and the Lord takeaway.
Blessed be the name of the Lord.
He gives and then sometimes hetakes away, but he takes away
for our benefit because he knowswhat's in the future.
(05:39):
The scripture that I love, thatI think goes well with this, is
Jeremiah 29, 11, for I know thethoughts that I think towards
you, says the Lord, thoughts ofpeace and not of evil, to give
you a future and a hope.
Losing something like losing ajob or or losing a home or one
(06:04):
of the things that you felt Godhad given you, and it gets taken
out, it doesn't mean that God'sdoing this against that person,
because he's always going to beleading them to a good future.
God's plans do not look likeour plans and sometimes it's
(06:31):
hard when this happens to you.
It breaks your heart, especially when it's something
that you thought was very goodand you were very excited about
it and you really felt like, ohGod did this for me and I'm
really think t his is what wasgoing to be so great.
Well, it was great while youwere at that point.
But God's plan is so muchbigger than our understanding.
(06:58):
You know, let's look at someonewho has a job that they get and
all of a sudden they get toldthat the job's ending and
they're devastated because theyreally felt like God had put
(07:21):
them in that place.
God had put them in that place.
But the thing that you have tolook at is what did you learn
when God put you in that place?
Did God put you there toprepare you for the better thing
(07:44):
that he has for you?
Is that what it was for Then?
It's not bad that it got takenaway, is it?
But only God knows that and wehave to trust in Him.
And you know, proverbs 3, 5through 6 says Trust in the Lord
with all of your heart and leannot to your own understanding
(08:17):
In all of your heart and leannot to your own understanding in
all of your ways.
Acknowledge him and he shalldirect your paths.
So he directed your path rightto where that was, and now he's
going to direct it elsewhere.
And other people will come toyou and say well, I thought you
said God was in all of this.
(08:38):
Well, I did.
And Romans 8.28 says and weknow that all things work
together to the good of thosewho love the Lord and are called
according to his purpose, allthings when we lose something.
(09:00):
I'll tell you a little quick,little story.
I work with a company for 21years and they let me go
reduction in force and theycalled me in and were telling me
you know we're going to let yougo.
And I looked at him and I saidyou're not letting me go.
And they had a counselor theretoo, because they said well,
(09:22):
gayla, we know that you'rereally devoted to this company
and we know that you're going tobe upset.
And I said you aren't lettinghim go?
And they said, yeah, we are.
And I said, no, god has decidedto move me elsewhere.
And I was so sure of that andhe did.
And all the things thathappened after I left that
(09:46):
company had been good things.
But yet I knew that God was incontrol.
I had done everything in thatjob that he needed me to do.
And it's funny for 21 years inthat job I talked with people, I
had Bible studies at work, Iprayed with people, I did what
(10:13):
God wanted me to do, plus did myjob.
God's plan is greater than ourunderstanding and losing
something doesn't mean God hasabandoned us.
It just means that he is stillleading us.
And if you look at what Godsays to us in his word, that it
(10:41):
can really uplift you whenthings like this happen, that it
can really uplift you whenthings like this happen,
philippians 4.19 says and my Godshall supply all your needs
according to his riches in glory.
And Revelations 3.8 says I knowyour works.
See, I have set before you anopen door and no one can shut it
(11:02):
, for you have a little strengthand kept my word and have not
denied me.
Our steps, that we walk on thispath with God, are ordered by
him Psalms 32, 23,.
(11:30):
And he delights in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not beutterly cast down, for the Lord
upholds him with his hand.
So when you lose that thing, god's holding your hand.
He's not going to let you downand he will do something new.
I don't know how many of youlistened to the one I did about.
(11:55):
I felt like God was giving me ascripture.
It was my bonus recording thatI did, and I got to thinking
about that scripture.
Scripture and that scripturereally fit into this, and so I
wanted to use it again.
God is always ready withsomething new for us, something
(12:17):
new.
All things are passed away, allthings become new.
Isaiah 43, 18 through 19, saysdo not remember the former
things, nor consider the thingsof old.
Behold, I will do a new thing.
Now it shall spring forth.
(12:44):
Shall you not know it, I willeven make a road in the
wilderness and rivers in thedesert.
He's doing something new inyour life.
Isn't that exciting?
Isn't that wonderful that Godcares so much for us that
through hard times, throughdisappointments, he's right
(13:10):
there holding us with his hand.
Isaiah 40, 10 says fear not, forI am with you.
Be not dismayed, for I am yourGod.
I will strengthen you, yes, Iwill help you, I will uphold you
with my righteous right hand.
You know there's a lot ofthings that happen to us, even
(13:37):
in our walks with Christ.
That things change and, youknow, just make it hard
sometimes for us to realize, andsometimes, when you're looking
at those things happening, is itSatan do this?
Is this something Satan did?
(14:00):
Satan can't shut an open door.
Normally, when something likethis happens, it's God, because
if God gave you that thing andhe wanted you to continue in
that thing, satan could not takeit away from us.
Psalms 27, 13 through 14 says Iwould have lost heart unless I
(14:21):
had believed that I would seethe goodness of the Lord in the
land of the living.
Wait on the Lord, be of goodcourage and he shall strengthen
your heart.
I say, wait on the Lord, andyou know the person that I care
(14:42):
about that had this happen tothem was very good.
They knew that God was in this, but I thought of people that
are going through this, and thisperson is talking to me and
said you know what?
(15:03):
To everything there is a seasonand yes, to everything there is
a season and a purpose underheaven.
God's timing is perfect.
Timing is perfect.
(15:24):
We have to embrace change withthe faith that we have in what
God is doing.
I want you to know if, right now, you're walking on this path
with God and you feel like he'sleading you somewhere and things
are happening that discourageyou or make you wonder if you're
(15:49):
on the right path, know thatwe're all there and we're all
there praying for each other.
This person that this happenedto that made me do this podcast
(16:10):
was so gracious.
They didn't get upset, theydidn't yell and cry.
They knew God.
They knew.
God is in it.
Do you know?
(16:33):
God is in your life.
Do you know?
No matter what it is that comesagainst you, it is that comes
against you that God isupholding you with his righteous
(16:54):
right hand.
He loves you.
His thoughts are so muchgreater than our thoughts, and
if you're going throughsomething like this right now, I
want you to stop and pray andask God to just touch your heart
(17:14):
and help the Holy Spirit tobring these scriptures that
we've talked about to yourremembrance.
God's path is going to be great, and there's no question that
(17:37):
he is the author of our lives.
He is the one.
He's the one that makes thesechanges.
We may not understand why theyhappen, but we have to
(17:57):
understand that God is guidingus, you know.
I hope that if you're goingthrough this, that you can say
that you know that all thingswork together for the good of
those who love the Lord.
You're looking forward to whathe has in store for you next.
