Matthew speaks with Todd Steinberg.  He is the CEO of Komuso Design and the co-inventor of a device called the Switch.  It is a device that assists with breathing exercises and meditation.  It is essentially a metal straw that is stainless steel and designed to be attractive enough to wear as a piece of jewelry.  One uses it to facilitate proper breathing exercises and to slow breathing down with switches one from the sympathetic (stressed) to the parasympathetic (calm) state.  To use it, one takes a deep breath through the nose, holds it, places the switch in the mouth, and allows the breath to release (not blow) through the straw. It is engineered to create a 7 second exhalation in an adult.  If one were to do this 4 to 5 times in a row, one would feel a release of tension and feel more relaxed.  Plus, it causes one to pay attention to their breathing which means one is now meditating as well.
