Season 3, Episode 1: Dr. Jacqueline Hidalgo, “Finding My Community”
In this episode, I interview my friend and colleague Dr. Jacqueline Hidalgo. Our conversation covers how she has navigated her Costa Rican identity in cities and spaces with little Central American representation. She also shares her commitment to the broader significance and empowerment of identifying as “Culturally Catholic.” As a professor, she focuses on scripture as a site of meaning making for Latinx communities. She currently teaches at the University of San Diego in the Theology and Religious Studies Department. Hope you enjoy this fabulous conversation about finding community and a sense of belonging.

Intentionally Disturbing
Join me on this podcast as I navigate the murky waters of human behavior, current events, and personal anecdotes through in-depth interviews with incredible people—all served with a generous helping of sarcasm and satire. After years as a forensic and clinical psychologist, I offer a unique interview style and a low tolerance for bullshit, quickly steering conversations toward depth and darkness. I honor the seriousness while also appreciating wit. I’m your guide through the twisted labyrinth of the human psyche, armed with dark humor and biting wit.
