Good news. Hey, Wake County, I've got some
(00:21):
good ones today. Let's get into it and stick
around. I've got a dad joke for you at
the end. It's safe for kiddos and cars.
So here's something pretty amazing happening right in our
backyard. Two sisters here in Wake County
are among the very first kids inthe entire country to try out
this new hearing implant called Bone Bridge.
(00:44):
ABC11 says it works by transmitting sound through the
bone, kind of like Bluetooth foryour skull.
You know, it sounds kind of wild, but it's actually genius
and it's giving these girls a whole new way to experience
sound medical breakthroughs likethis happening right here.
That's Wake County showing up right there.
(01:06):
Oh, and if you've got kids who are bouncing off the walls about
Halloween, well, Lafayette Village in North Raleigh has you
covered. They're turning the whole place
into a Halloween village starting Saturday, October 26th
with a big kick off party from 3:00 to 6:00 PM Triangle the
Cheap says it runs through the 31st.
(01:26):
It's completely free and costumes are definitely
encouraged. Easy weekend win right there.
Hey, and Speaking of fall fun that won't drain your wallet,
Creepy Crabtree is back at Lake Crabtree County Park.
That's Friday, October 25th from11:00 to 3:00 with crafts, games
(01:48):
and outdoor exploring for the whole family.
Free and easygoing, the kind of thing you just show up for and
enjoy. Pretty solid way to kick off the
weekend. And if your Tuesday could use a
little more twang, let's be honest, it probably could.
Bowstring Pizza on Wake Forest Rd. is hosting Beer and Banjos
(02:10):
tonight from 6:30 to 9:00. Free live music every Tuesday.
Bluegrass, folk, and all that good rootsy stuff with local and
regional musicians. Triangle on the Cheap says it's
actually the old Raleigh Times series.
It's just found a new home. Pizza, a pint and a banjo.
(02:30):
