Ever wondered who to call when your home needs expert maintenance but you're short on time or tools? Luke Buelow of Good Life Home Maintenance might just be your answer.

Luke joins us to share how his Fort Collins-based company is revolutionizing home repair services by blending professional plumbing expertise with comprehensive handyman skills. With refreshing candor, he challenges the outdated stereotype of handymen working "for a 12-pack or $20 an hour," outlining his mission to elevate these essential services to the professional trade status they deserve.

What makes Good Life unique is their approach to treating clients as family. As Luke explains, this philosophy translates into meticulous attention to every project, whether it's fixing a leaky faucet or implementing one of their popular recurring maintenance plans. His business serves busy professionals and families who value their home but lack the time or expertise to maintain it properly.

The conversation takes a personal turn as Luke shares his journey of moving to Colorado, starting a business from scratch, and finding his footing in a new community. His story resonates with the entrepreneurial spirit while highlighting the challenges of building something meaningful from the ground up.

Whether you're a homeowner looking for reliable maintenance solutions or simply appreciate stories of local businesses making a difference, this episode offers valuable insights into how specialized expertise paired with genuine care creates extraordinary service. Visit https://www.goodlifehomeco.pro/ to discover their full range of services from plumbing and water filtration to those time-saving maintenance plans that keep homes running smoothly.

Home repair company in FortCollins and surrounding areas.
Yeah, I mean, we typicallyprovide a mix of handyman and

(00:55):
plumbing and we also offer somerecurring home maintenance
service plans that we providefor some customers if they
really want to keep their homein great shape.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
How did you get into the business?

Speaker 3 (01:09):
I've done a little bit of everything throughout my
career.
I ended up doing plumbingbefore we moved to Colorado,
worked for a service plumber outhere and decided that I wanted
to go my own route so I couldprovide more services for my
customers.
And here we are today, threeand a half years later, going

(01:32):
strong.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
What are some myths or misconceptions in your
industry?

Speaker 3 (01:40):
I would say, on the handyman side of things people
have sort of a negativeconnotation or think that a
handyman is basically going tocome out and work for a 12-pack
or 20 bucks an hour.
We're really striving to makeit into a professional trade and

(02:03):
do provide like top tierquality service.
So I would say, you know, really kind of trying to change
the the whole idea of whathandyman services you know, we,
we know a lot about a lot ofthings and I happen to also be a
plumber.
So we're trying to get peopleon board with being comfortable

(02:28):
with hiring handymen.
And, you know, even gettinginto that home maintenance
service plan is something thatwe really hope to keep building
on.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
And you might have just answered that question.
But who are your targetcustomers and how are you trying
to attract them right now?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Really, any homeowner , you know busy homeowner who
maybe has kids or, you know, works in a doctor's office or in
IT.
Maybe they don't have the toolsor time to do all the necessary
repairs or maintenance on theirhome.
You know, and that's where wecome in, we can lend a hand with

(03:10):
a little project, we can helpwith the bigger ones.
Yeah, honestly, you know reallyany homeowner who isn't?
Busy.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
Exactly Outside of work.
What do you do for fun?

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Exactly Outside of work.

Well, we do a lot of camping inColorado.
That is probably our top thing.
My family and I Haven't beenout in a couple months now, but
hoping to get back out since theweather is getting better.

(03:46):
I love to play golf, do alittle hunting in the fall I try
.
I'm not good, but I try Anyway.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, let's switch gears.
Can you describe a hardship ora life challenge that you
overcame and how it made youstronger?
What comes to mind?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
uh, let's see, I mean really just.
You know we moved to coloradoto be closer to family, I would
say, just starting over in a newstate with all new people and
starting a new business in thatposition, you know it's, it's
not easy's not easy and you knowwe've worked really hard to

(04:28):
keep things going, man you, still learn a lot when you in
your first three years ofbusiness.
So I mean we're getting thingsironed out and you know, I think
that the process of goingthrough new place, new business,
new people, I mean you know, has brought us to where we are

(04:50):
today.
