When COVID made tactical gear scarce, Samuel Buckwalter took matters into his own hands. Armed with fabric from Amazon and a Walmart sewing machine, this Wyoming National Guard member began crafting custom gear that would eventually become Crown Arms, a thriving tactical equipment business based in Laramie.

Samuel shares his remarkable journey from military service to entrepreneurship, describing how his "hobby job" ultimately proved more viable than continuing college. As a self-described "tactical tailor," he creates custom cordura and nylon products for hunting, outdoor activities, and tactical applications. Unlike many competitors, Crown Arms produces everything in-house using American-made materials, allowing for unmatched customization and quality control.

What makes Crown Arms truly unique is their approach to customer needs. "Imagination is the only limiting factor to what our gear can do," Samuel explains, highlighting how his small business can pivot quickly to design exactly what customers need. This flexibility has helped them find success with individual clients from police and military backgrounds seeking specialized equipment. Surprisingly, Etsy has become their dominant marketing platform, where they stand out in searches for tactical gear.

Samuel personally tests everything he makes, taking his creations rock climbing, hiking, and hunting to ensure functionality. This hands-on approach embodies his "modern-day Minuteman" philosophy and drives continuous product improvement. For listeners seeking American-made tactical solutions for practical problems, Crown Arms offers craftsmanship that's increasingly rare in today's market.
