Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Good
Neighbor Podcast, the place
where local businesses andneighbors come together.
Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome to the Good
Neighbor Podcast.
Are you in need of a one-dayflooring restoration company?
Well, one may be closer thanyou think.
Today I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
joe Worrell with RecoatRevolution North Metroplex.
Joe, how's it going today?
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Going great.
How about you?
Speaker 2 (00:31):
It's going great for
me too.
Thank you so much for askingNow.
We are so excited to learn allabout you and your business.
Can you start by telling ourlisteners a little bit about
your company?
Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yeah, we are a
one-day sandless, dustless floor
restoration and hard surfacerestoration.
We kind of specialize inhardwoods, but if your floors
can't be sanded, we can alsorecoat those as well.
We do LVP, VCT, engineeredhardwoods, hand-sc, scraped
(01:03):
hardwoods, concrete.
I mean we can resurface justabout any kind of hard surface
and we also sanitize and cleanthose.
But we do it all in one day.
There's no sanding, no dust, aswe like to say.
We're done by dinner.
You're walking on the floorthree hours after we're done.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Wow, that is
extremely impressive.
Now, Joe, how did you and yourwife originally get into this
company?
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Well, my wife's other
profession had us moving around
all the time.
Every five years we would move, and the job that she currently
has now we're going to be herecurrently has now we're going to
be here.
So we were looking forsomething that provided a
service for people.
We didn't want to makehamburgers or hot dogs or that
(01:55):
kind of thing.
We wanted to actually kind ofdo something that was helpful to
people.
And so with our business, wenot only clean and recoat and
restore floors, but we also doit completely green.
We're a completely greencompany, so there's no harsh
chemicals or VOCs or anythinglike that.
(02:16):
So we're really excited to finda product like that that can
help not only help people gettheir floors looking great again
, but also help with theenvironment.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Wow, now that is an
amazing cause.
What are some most common mythsor misconceptions you come
across in your industry?
Speaker 3 (02:38):
A lot of people think
when their floors are dingy and
kind of worn out from pets, kids, just general thing they
think they have to replace them.
And they don't with our service.
We come in, take a look at yourfloors, give you a free
estimate and a lot of times wecan fix some of those things in
(03:00):
the floors that maybe youthought you were going to have
to replace, and we do it all inone day, okay.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Wow, all in one day.
Now, joe, we know marketing isthe heart of every business.
How do you currently marketyour business and who are your
target?
Speaker 3 (03:19):
customers.
In the evenings and on theweekends, when she's not working
at her other job, she helpswith that.
We're pretty active in thosekind of platforms.
We also like to give back toour communities that we're
(03:43):
involved in.
We like to go out and do streetevents and set our stuff up,
and we were at Art in the Squarein Southlake one weekend and we
have some other events comingup and we really like to just
kind of do that grassroots kindof get out and let people know
who we are, because if you justsay Rico Revolution, you might
not know what we do.
(04:04):
So we have to kind of get outthere and tell people by word of
mouth.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Now, have you ever
thought about doing your own
podcast?
Speaker 3 (04:13):
No.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
And outside of work.
When you're not out in thecommunity with your wife, what
else do you guys like to do forfun?
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Well, we have two
great kids living at home and
another one that's already movedout.
We have a 12 and a 14 year oldand they're both active in
school.
Uh, our 14 year old is playingfootball and our 12 year old,
he's involved in band and he andart, and so staying busy with
(04:46):
the kids, uh, and trying to beinvolved in the community is is
kind of our, the stuff that wedo, plus, if we get a chance.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Of course, we like to
take great vacations.
Now, joe, what is the mostshocking?
Speaker 3 (05:05):
thing about your
company that would surprise our
listeners.
I think the biggest thing isthey can't believe that they
don't have to move out.
You know, now I say, when youmove out, we do have to
sometimes move furniture around, but they don't have to get a
hotel.
There's nothing that there's no, it's odorless.
So they don't.
You know, there's no, there'sno type of smells they got to
(05:27):
worry about.
They don't have to open thewindows.
You know our, our teams don't.
Uh, we, we come in and and welike to have the air
conditioning set about 72, sothat's about the best
temperature for us to work innow, joe, what is the secret
when it comes to restoringfloors in just one day?
(05:48):
well, the secret is, the processthat we do is a proprietary
process that was created by ourfounder in St Louis, missouri,
and it was originally started asrestoring hardwood floors that
people want to keep instead oftearing them out.
And when Jennifer and I wentand looked at the franchise
(06:10):
opportunity, they took us to aplace the floors were over 100
years old and we came in in themorning and came back about five
hours later and they justlooked beautiful and we couldn't
believe it.
And the process involves a deepcleaning, color correction.
Where there's wear marks orscratch marks or that sort of
(06:33):
thing, we try to put them backto their original color.
And then we do some otherproprietary process and then we
recoat it with polyurethane andit lasts just as long as if it
was sanded down and recoated andrecoated.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
And what is one thing
our listeners should remember?
Speaker 3 (06:58):
