SPEAKER_01 (00:00):
This is the Good
Neighbor Podcast, the place
where local businesses andneighbors come together.
Here's your host, Sophia Yvette.
SPEAKER_02 (00:10):
Welcome to the Good
Neighbor Podcast.
Are you in need of an emotionalwellness consultant?
Well, one may be closer than youthink.
Today, I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
Travel Unique, with her company.
I am Travel Unique LLC.
Travel, how are you today?
SPEAKER_00 (00:30):
I am great.
Thank you for having me.
SPEAKER_02 (00:33):
Yes, it is a
pleasure to have you on, and
we're excited to learn all aboutyou and your business.
Can you start off by telling ourlisteners just a little bit
about your company?
SPEAKER_00 (00:43):
Absolutely.
So I am Travel Unique LLC is anemotional wellness and health
consultant uh company.
My um wheelhouse is reallyfocusing on helping people
manage their emotions, especially if it's in a um very
(01:05):
high intense uh situation.
But then I also offer productswhere um it can help change your
mood, fix your health, and it'scoupled along with the emotional
side of things.
So even though it may be a teaor um it may be um elderberry
syrup if you're sick, um, itstill helps with your overall
(01:29):
wellness.
So it's not just an emotionalside, but also a health side as
well.
So it's like a hug for yourbody, yes, for the total body,
not just you know, it'semotions, mind, body,
everything.
SPEAKER_02 (01:44):
Now, how did you
originally get into a business
like this?
SPEAKER_00 (01:51):
So I have had many
emotional or traumatic
experiences in my lifetime.
And so um, before I knewanything about how to manage my
emotions, I was suppressing thema lot.
And so, because I wassuppressing them, not knowing
how it impacts my overallhealth, I was seeing many
(02:12):
doctors, um, you know, justdealing with different things,
whether it was feeling likeheart palpitations or even
migraines.
I used to suffer with migrainesreally, really bad.
It was just taking a toll on myphysical body, but I didn't
realize that it was even myemotional or mental uh portion
that was contributing to that.
(02:32):
So that's how I got started.
I started assessing myself andmy responses to different
things.
And over time, uh just learning,God allowed me to learn more
about what it means to use achamomile or what does it mean
to use uh mullet to kind of helpregulate my body, my hormones,
(02:56):
and just even my thoughtprocess, of course, with reading
the Bible.
SPEAKER_02 (03:01):
That is amazing and
an amazing approach.
So, getting into things a bitdeeper, Travel, where did your
heart for helping others comefrom for this business?
SPEAKER_00 (03:18):
So, um, as I
mentioned, I actually had a lot
of traumatic experiences, and soit started as young as like five
years old, and some things werebeyond my control, and it was um
very graphic.
And so, because of thesuppression of the emotions and
even not having the familysupport that I needed, I
(03:39):
realized that there was a need, and so um, because of that, the
first thing I started working onis regaining my voice to tell my
story, right?
And so sometimes when you'rejust fresh off of an event, you
know, you don't know how to sayit as clearly, or you can be
very passionate and strong aboutit, and so I had to get um
understanding on how to share mystory, how to um educate others,
(04:04):
and because it happened to me atsuch a young age, my heart is to
protect, right?
And so I wanted to educateothers, recognizing signs,
behaviors, um, just even mentalthings that happen to people who
have ever uh experiencedtraumatic experiences.
And so I just wanted to bring mywealth and my knowledge and
(04:26):
wisdom to um others so they canlearn from me because
everybody's story is not thesame, everybody's experience
isn't the same, and even ourreactions to what has happened
is not the same.
And so I just wanted to sharethat.
SPEAKER_02 (04:40):
Well, I can most
certainly tell God has his hand
on what you're doing, so that'sbeautiful.
Thank you for sharing.
Now we know marketing is theheart of every business.
In terms of marketing, who areyour target customers or clients
and how do you attract them?
SPEAKER_00 (05:02):
So I don't have an
age limit really because my what
I offer it uh expands beyondjust children.
Um, one of the major things thatI've been doing with my business
um is working with otherwellness coaches like myself.
And we've kind of like, um, as amatter of fact, I my first book
(05:23):
that I released in 2023 was agroup of us who are in the same
field, right?
And so because of that, we wereable to market on social media,
we were able to market, youknow, in our churches with our
families and things like that.
Also, when we, you know, postedour book, it it came out on
Amazon, so it was able to be uhdistributed there, and then um
(05:48):
just on social media, as far asyou know, when I feel like God
has dropped something in myspirit, I'll just go live and
just share.
So that's pretty much how thingsand word of mouth, right?
So some people who have umpurchased my products, um, even
vendor events that I've been at,because they met me at that
event or uh that place, I havebeen getting invited to
(06:12):
different things, whether it'sto speak, whether it's just to
be a vendor, um, to offer myexpertise.
That's kind of how things havebeen um working out for me and
my business.
SPEAKER_02 (06:24):
Now, in terms of the
Holy Spirit working through you,
have you ever thought abouthaving your own podcast to
extend your voice?
SPEAKER_00 (06:36):
Yes, I have, and I'm
actually in the works of that,
and the Holy Spirit definitelyhas a way of convicting me in
places like this.
Um, so I started the process.
I actually have the name of mybusiness.
I uh do I haven't released it ordone anything with it yet
(06:57):
because I also have understoodthe trademark and copyright side
of things, and so I'm stillworking on trying to make sure
that's secure before someonetakes and advertise my name.
And so, um, and and when I'msaying my name, not uh Trevel
Unique, but my uh podcast name.
And so right now I'm just doinglike little snippets of things,
(07:20):
whether it's on YouTube or uhTikTok or Facebook.
I kind of like talk a little bitabout trauma, but I haven't
quite pushed the launch.
So I got my Spotify spot, butdidn't push the launch yet, if
that makes sense.
SPEAKER_02 (07:37):
Now, Travel, we
certainly have gone deep today
in this episode.
However, to give our listeners abit of a better understanding,
can you elaborate on the typesof products that you sell?
SPEAKER_00 (07:51):
Absolutely.
So, first off, I do um partnerwith uh a major label um company
that sells uh aromatherapy itemssuch as uh essential oils,
diffusers, things like that.
And so um because I have arelationship with them, I use
(08:13):
those products to develop myscrubs.
So I do have body scrubs that Idevelop.
Everything is all organic.
Um, I do uh have skin issues, and so um I want to make sure
that everything is pure becauseI know how I can impact your
body, and so I do scrubs, I alsohave body oils, I have herbal
(08:37):
teas that I make.
Um for those people whoexperience like um asthma and
you know, just any lung issuesand stuff like that.
I sell a product called MullenTea, and so it's like the
natural version of Mucinex, andso it clears the body, clears
even your head, like if you havea head cold or anything like
(08:59):
that.
Um what else?
I do make t-shirts with thisparticular company, um, just
empowerment, like talking aboutspeaking up, speaking out
against you know, things thatare just not, you know, good or
something that has happened, like telling your story.
But then I also write books, right?
So with um this particular uhbusiness, I've written a book,
(09:21):
uh, a joint book called If TheseWalls Could Talk, um, Surviving
Childhood Trauma Stories.
And so um, that's the anthologybook that I was sharing that I
did with a bunch of women who weall kind of share the same
background.
But then out of that, I createda journal called Don't Trust All
Babysitters.
And so it kind of walks throughuh guided exercise and journal,
(09:43):
it just explaining how to talkabout different events in your
life and to be able to um usesome of the techniques that I
have.
Like once you start talkingabout something as uh strong or
deep, it may cause your body todo some things.
And so I walk people throughtechniques on how to bring their
emotions and body uh back intoalignment, of course, making
(10:04):
sure that they get released fromtheir uh medical professional
because I'm not a medicalprofessional, so I have to say
that, but all of that is writtenin the book to try to help them
relax, whether it's using theessential oil or rather whether
you just go and stand in frontof the refrigerator and open the
door and just stick your face inthere.
But I kind of coach people onhow to bring their emotions and
(10:27):
their mental state back intoalignment where they can
continue to function and not,you know, spiral because of the
event that was triggered.
SPEAKER_02 (10:37):
I think that is so
beautiful and so important.
And some final words of wisdomto leave our audience with
today.
You know, sometimes I think whenyou're in that place, you just
need to breathe and pray andknow that God's got you, and
that at the end of the day, everything's gonna be okay.
We don't go through things, wegrow through them, right?
SPEAKER_00 (10:57):
Yes, absolutely.
And in order to get on the otherside, you have to be able to
process everything that'shappening and grow.
SPEAKER_02 (11:07):
Amen.
Now, what our listeners reallywant to know today is where can
they go to learn more about I amtravel unique LLC?
SPEAKER_00 (11:18):
They can visit my
website, which is
www.imtrevelleunique.com.
They can also visit Facebook.
My username is I am travelunique on Facebook, Instagram,
uh, TikTok, uh, Pinterest, aswell as YouTube.
So all of the well, I'm nolonger on Twitter or X, but
(11:41):
yeah, most of the platforms theyhave, it's I am Travel Unique.
And that's two L's because somepeople spell Travel with one L
thinking that it's travel, butit's two L's.
SPEAKER_02 (11:52):

the show today, and we wish youand your business the best
