What makes Celina Nemec with Innate Origins Wellness a good neighbor?

Ever wondered if there's more to gut health than just popping probiotics? Wellness coach Celina Nemec certainly thinks so. After facing her own devastating health crisis that left medical professionals stumped, Selena embarked on a journey of discovery that transformed not only her own life but now helps countless others reclaim their wellbeing.

Celina's approach to wellness coaching through her company Innate Origins Wellness centers around two critical but often overlooked aspects of health: comprehensive gut healing and effective detoxification. "The toxins in this world are just ever increasing and we're seeing so many issues with health from that toxicity," she explains, highlighting why her personalized coaching methods go far beyond the one-size-fits-all solutions that failed her during her own health struggles.

As a 34-year-old mother of two young children, Celina brings authenticity to her coaching that resonates deeply with clients navigating similar life challenges. Her personal journey took an even more profound turn when tragedy struck – losing both her father and brother to cancer within two weeks of each other while caring for a newborn baby. This heartbreaking experience has fueled her passion for helping cancer patients and her goal to become a certified cancer coach. Between beach vacations that ground her family, hula hooping for stress relief, and continuous learning to better serve her clients, Selena embodies the balanced approach to wellness she teaches.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place
where local businesses andneighbors come together.
Here's your host, Lila Carter.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast.
Are you in need of a health andwellness coach?
One might be closer than youthink.
Today, I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
selena Nemec, with InnateOrigins Wellness.
Selena, how's it going?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
It's going great how?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
are you?
I'm well.
Thank you so much.
We're excited to learn allabout you and your business.
Tell us about your company.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
So I am a health and wellness coach.
I reached to this journeythrough my own health and
wellness issues, which I thinkmost people usually come from
that background, unfortunately.
But all that matters is thatwe've reached that road.
So I have a very, very strongpassion about gut health,

(01:00):
because that was part of mystory, and also detoxification,
because the toxins in this worldare just ever increasing and
we're seeing so many issues withhealth from that toxicity.
So I'm really, reallypassionate about focusing on
those two things but you know Ican help with a lot of other
things as well, but that'sreally my two main focuses.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Awesome.
So how did you get into thisbusiness?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
So, as I mentioned, I had my own journey of health
issues.
I had a lot of gut issues.
I was in school to become anurse and you know, working
multiple jobs and, just you know, not taking good care of myself
, and lo and behold, you know, your body starts to run down, as

(01:48):
a lot of us find out, sometimesthe hard way.
So I ended up in the hospitalin and out for a while, lost a
bunch of weight, couldn't eatright, wasn't getting answers
from the medical community, atleast at the pace at which I
thought was helpful, and wasstill really struggling.
So we actually ended up movingand in my new environment I just

(02:13):
discovered there was otheroptions and ways to work with
what I had.
Going on, and lo and behold, here I am Now I'm teaching other
people how to do it and it'sjust been really wonderful.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Awesome.
I love how your business kindof stemmed out of your story of
discovery and working throughyour own personal health
concerns.
That's awesome.
So what are some myths ormisconceptions in your industry.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
You know, again, I'll link this back to gut health.
I just find that, you know, people usually focus on one
thing when they hear the termgut health, a lot of people will
say, oh well, I take probiotics.
And you know, when I hearpeople say that, sometimes I

(03:03):
kind of cringe because I think,oh my gosh, there's so much more
to it than that.
So I'd say, you know, we couldmaybe consider that a myth or a
misconception, that just takingprobiotics is going to benefit
your gut health.
And that's one of the thingsthat I really dive into with my
clients and I teach them all thedifferent aspects that there

(03:23):
are of gut health and how we canimprove it and make it better
and how we can improve it andmake it better.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Nice.
So, whenever you are marketingto these different customer
bases, who are your targetcustomers and how do you attract
them?

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yeah, so I really can work with people of all ages.
You know I've worked withinfants.
I've worked with children, I'veworked with men and women.
Of course I'm going to vibewith and work best with people
who are in my you know, similarsituation.
I'm a young mom.
I'm 34 years old.
I have two young children, agesfour and seven.

(04:02):
I'm trying to find work-lifebalance.
You know going to sportingevents.
You know trying to juggle, youknow making dinner and working
and keeping the kids happy andkeeping myself happy and my
husband happy.
So really, you know, peoplethat are in that realm are going
to mesh well with me.
But other women ages 18 to 55would be great.

(04:25):
But again, you know, outside ofthat I definitely am able to
help.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
in any case, Very nice, so sounds like you have a
lot of information to share.
Have you ever thought aboutdoing your own podcast?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, absolutely yeah , I think that would be great.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, very informative.
So outside of work, what do youdo for fun?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yeah, very informative.
So outside of work, what do youdo for fun?
Well, I love being outdoors.
I'm an outdoors kind of person.
I love being near the water.
Our family's favorite vacationis going to the ocean.
It just is really grounding forus.
The kids have a blast, we havea blast.
You know the second that I stepfoot in front of that ocean
blast, you know the second thatI step foot in front of that

(05:12):
ocean, I just feel like all mystress melts away.
So that would be really big forus.
But you know I enjoy reading.
I don't usually do casualreading.
Usually I'm reading to learnjust what I do.
I'm just always trying to be upon the next thing to better
help my clients.
But I do still enjoy it and Ilove learning and, of course,

(05:33):
spending time with my kids andmy husband.
We like to camp.
I am still into doing some hulahooping.
It's something I used to dowhen I was younger, but I do it
because it keeps me fit and ithelps relieve stress as well.
So do a little bit ofeverything, but those are some
of the main things that wereally focus on.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
So the ultimate vacation would be hula hooping
and reading on the beach withyour family.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Yes, fantastic Dream vacation.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
All right, so let's switch gears.
Can you describe a hardship ora life challenge that you
overcame and how it made youstronger?
What comes to mind?

Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah, absolutely so.
I mean there's many, includingmy own health challenges, but I
would say that more recently, alittle over four years ago, I
lost my father and my brotherboth to cancer.
I lost my father and my brotherboth to cancer, and this
happened within a short time.
They passed within two weeks ofeach other, and this was all

(06:37):
while I had a newborn baby.
So my daughter was five daysold when my dad had a stroke,
and that was, you know, adifferent side than the cancer.
You know he had somecardiovascular issues as well.
You know a different side thanthe cancer.
You know he had somecardiovascular issues as well.
But taking care of them bothsimultaneously and having an

(06:59):
infant definitely taught me alot of things, and it also
taught me a lot about compassionand caring for people in those
situations.
So helping people that do havecancer diagnosis is something
very near and dear to my heart, and I do intend to at one point
become a certified cancer coachso that I can have even more

(07:20):
knowledge and be able to bettersupport people in that area as
well.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Wow, that's amazing that story, and just how much
strength you had to probablyhave, you know, dealing with all
that while you have a newborntoo.
I can only imagine.
So, selena, please tell ourlisteners one thing they should
remember about innate originswellness.
