Are you in need of a plumber?
Well, one may be closer thanyou think.
Today I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
Adam Swartz, with DreamlandPlumbing.
Adam, how are you doing today?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Fantastic.
How are you?
Speaker 2 (00:30):
I am fine, Listen,
Adam.
We're excited to learn allabout you and your company.
Tell us about your business.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah, we're local.
We're Port St Lucie, so we'renative to the area, family-owned
and operated Not the biggestcompany around, but we are eight
or nine tech strong, Good, solid business.
We love helping our neighborsout, of course, and taking care
of you know people in Port StLucie.
(00:56):
That's what we do.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
So tell us, how did
you get into this business?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
So I've been plumbing
for over 15 years.
My grandfather was a plumberkind of runs in the family and
yeah, we just kind of went withthat and always loved business
in general.
So always been an entrepreneuras well.
And yeah, what better thing todo than you know, bring passions
together and and start a plumbusiness.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
so that's what we did
so what are some of the myths
and misconceptions of yourindustry?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
um, well, that's hard
to say.
Um, I would say misconceptionis probably.
I guess it's like a lot ofpeople say it's hard to find a
good plumber.
I would say that's probably amisconception.
(01:55):
There's a lot of good onesaround.
We've got a whole staff ofgreat plumbers.
So I would say that'sdefinitely a misconception.
I haven't really heard anymyths floating around that I'm
aware of, but maybe there'ssomething out there that I don't
know well, um so, adam, whenyou're not busy running your
(02:17):
business what do you like to?
have fun um, actually like playgolf.
Um, and I would say, most of mytime I would say almost all of
my time when I'm not running thebusiness and and actually out
in the field, I'm spending timewith my wife and my uh, daughter
, which is that's actually myfavorite thing to do so um hang
(02:39):
out my daughter.
She's about a year and a halfold, so she's the highlight of
my life.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
I can understand that
.
What's your famous?
What's your best golf player?
I mean, you said you like golf, any player you?
I don't understand.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Well, I would say,
favorite would probably be Tiger
Woods, I mean, I guess he'sprobably everybody's favorite,
and I know he's not as good ashe was, but he's getting older.
So yeah, man, no one can swinglike him.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Let's change gears a
little bit.
Life often does us curveballs.
Let's talk about one hardship, one challenge, something that
you went through.
You can look back today and seeyou're better and stronger
because of it.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
What comes to mind,
um, well, I mean so, right
before we started this company,um, I was working at another
company I won't say names, ofcourse but, um, they were
changing their pay structure andI would say at the time it
seemed like almost like the endof the world, um, but actually
one that being a blessing, um,because it's what kind of pushed
me into starting my own company, and that's been a great thing,
(03:52):
you know.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
So you need a little
motivation, huh A little bit of
motivation.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
You always make the
bills, of course, so it was
scary.
You know it's always scarytaking that leap of faith, you
know, but it definitely workedout for the best and couldn't be
happier with the results so far.
And, like I said, it's awesometo be able to help our neighbors
out and you know, we can makesome money doing it too, so it
(04:20):
works out well.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Listen, adam, I know
you have a lot to share about
your business, but I want to putyou on the spot a little bit
there.
I want you to narrow it down toone thing, one thing that you
want our listeners to rememberabout Dreamland Plumbing.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Yeah.
So if there's one thing I wouldlike my listeners to remember,
would be that we actually careabout our customers.
So at the end of the day, nomatter what yeah, we do need to
make money, but it always comesdown to what's best for the
customer.
All of our plumbers are testedthat way.
We make sure that we hirenothing but the best and we make
(04:59):
sure that that is theirpriority.
At the end of the day, it'salways about the homeowner and
what's best for them.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
A lot of my listeners
own homes and they're probably
thinking about a leaky pipe.
You know the toilet that's notgoing down the way it's supposed
to.
And there's one word on theirlips right now, and that's how.
