and neighbors come

Here's your host, GarfieldBowen.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Welcome to the Good
Neighbor Podcast.
Today I have the pleasure ofintroducing Aaron Hawken and
Nemo with Hawkeye EntertainmentFellas.
How are you doing today?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Hi, we're doing great
, and yourself.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
I am well.
I'm well'm well listening.
We're excited to learn allabout your company.
I'm not sure if it was aaron, you're the the manager, and nemo
, you're the talent uh, uh, I'mactually our uh, we uh, aaron's
the manager.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I do a lot of the
creative production side of
things.
Um, we a lot of the outreachingas far as networking and where
we try to be at as far aslocations.
Aaron does the same as well.
Definitely, we're independentran, you know.
I mean it's a blast.
(01:01):
I think our rules play keyparts into what we do right now.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
So how did this all
come about?
How did you get into thisbusiness?
Tell me.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
Well, yeah, I'll take
that one.
So I have a background inorganizational management,
business management as well asjust like event organizing.
Business management, um, aswell as just like event
organizing.
Um, my, my, we're cousins also,by the way.
Uh, nemo has been djing, entertaining, singing since what
(01:36):
you were 15, 13, like, um soaround around 2020.
Um, when I moved back home, westarted working together.
We started working on projects, doing events, doing shows, all
kinds of things, working withpeople in event tech, and
eventually we decided to goahead and just launch a formal
(01:59):
business, and that's where wecame up with the idea of Hawker
Entertainment business, andthat's where we came up with the
idea of Hawker Entertainment.
That's why we created it togive a formal business entity to
the activities and projects wewere already doing.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Yeah, so what are
some of the myths and
misconceptions?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
You know, I think
sometimes when people see that
you're an entertainment company, they think really big already.
They think like you've got likea you know, this huge studio
area where you're doing and likeputting on like you know
whether it be a podcast oryou're doing studio sessions or
stuff like that.
And I think a lot of it,especially with us being our
(02:42):
entertainment company, is a lotof people don't understand how
much Hawkeye does as far asoutreaching to finding the
venues and the places and thepodcast studios to really work
with, especially with theartists that we help right now
and trying to get them more outthere to the bigger media world.
And I think sometimes, you know, we put out our flyers and we
(03:04):
put out our events and a lot ofpeople see them coming so
quickly.
So oftenly they're justthinking, man, like you know
they got a whole, you knowworking machine.
But I mean this company it'd benothing without the artists
that work with us, without oursecretary help that we've had.
I mean like it's, you know thisis real independent.
It's one thing you're workingon something part-timely and
(03:28):
you're not focused on it all theway.
It's another thing where you'rehands-on and we're touching
everything, we're working withthe artists.
We work with our artists andcommunicate with them in a way
to make sure that their legalsides of things I don't think
people understand just how muchon the legal side of things
we've had to make sure it'ssecured as far as what we were
(03:48):
doing as well too.
Like it's kind of people seeentertainment and they think
that we're just gonna, we'regonna put something on or we've
got something for them to cometo, and I don't think they
understand just how much realwork goes into how we entertain
and the type of quality ofentertainment that we're trying
to provide to people.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
Sometimes so, fellas,
when you're not busy, you want
to jump in?
Go ahead.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
Sorry, I just wanted
to address two quick
misconceptions I think we get alot.
One is that when people hire usfor a DJ service, a lot of times
they think that maybe it's onlygoing to be hip hop or R&B or
something like that, when thereality is is we have a broad
range of music that we play.
From that we know anything andeverything, from country to
(04:36):
metal to pop, whatever it is,you know, we can play it all.
To pop, whatever it is, youknow we could play it all.
Uh, and then the othermisconception I wanted to put
out there is people think thatthey see entertainment and they
think that we're just anentertainment company.
But really, really, you know,we're an outsourcing company.
We offer business managementand consulting services for
(04:57):
small businesses.
I've helped set up severalsmall businesses here in the
area as well, as you know onlinecreators and artist management
and also just editing servicesfor people locally, so that you
don't have to use any of theselike Fiverr or other programs
for people that you know mightnot be on the same page as you.
(05:20):
So we offer a lot more broaderservices than just entertainment
and that's.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
You know, oftentimes
people miss so when you're, you
know two are not busy runningyour business.
Um, what do your guys like todo for fun?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
aaron, you want to go
first, or?
Speaker 4 (05:38):
yeah, yeah, I mean, I
play a lot of pool.
That's mainly what I do.
I play a lot of pool, um, andjust uh hang out with friends,
watch sports, that kind of thing, you know yeah, it's the same
for me, just about pool.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Um, I've just started
getting back into the working
out phase of things again withmy health, so that's been fun.
I mean, I DJ.
I do enjoy DJing, so it's niceto do that in my spare time, to
get some practice in and whatnot.
I love basketball and stuff, sothat's pretty much where you
can find us as far as what we dooutside of that.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
Listen, fellas.
I'm going to put you on thespot a little bit, make you a
little uncomfortable, if that'sokay.
I know there's a lot you wantto share about Hawkeye
Entertainment, but I want you tonarrow it down to one thing,
one thing you want yourlisteners to remember about your
business, and each one of y'allcan share your one thing.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Aaron, you want to
take that?
Speaker 4 (06:39):
You can go first, man
.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Okay, I think the one
thing I want people to really
take away from as far as ourcompany is we're for the
community, we're for pushing andmaking the artists and the
people that we work with andproviding the best quality of
either the artists that they'retrying to be or the work that
(07:01):
we're bringing them.
As far as me, doing an eventsuch as a wedding or a private
party or anything like that.
That's probably the one thingthat I would want people to
really take away from whatHawkeye does.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Yeah, I would.
I would have to just reiteratethat the one thing that I want
people to understand is that youknow we're born and raised here
, we're really local.
We've got a list of localtalent and people that, for any
kind of event you want to have,as well as offering services
that you know we have a bit of a, we have a bit of an advantage
(07:40):
over.
You know you trying to go to alarger scale social media
company or a larger scalemanagement marketing company for
your business or for yourentertainment services or
whatever it may be, because ofour local community roots, so
that might be the main thing.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Yeah, and I'm not
sure who want to answer this
question, but how can listenerslearn more about Hawkeye
Entertainment?
