Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the Good
Neighbor Podcast, the place
where local businesses andneighbors come together.
Here's your host, GarfieldBowen.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome to the Good
Neighbor Podcast.
Are you in need of a paver?
Well, one may be closer thanyou think.
Today I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
aaron Turner, with PaverPressure and Repair.
Aaron, how are you doing today?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
I'm doing pretty well
, garfield, hope you are.
I am well as well.
Listen, we're excited to learnall about you and Repair, where
we do everything papers all theway, starting from the installs
all the way to taking care ofthem, cleaning and sealing them.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
So how did you get
into this business?
You look young.
What are you?
18, 21?
, 20 minutes.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
How did you get into
this?
Business I got in the businessa little over a year ago, where
I just sit down with myself, andI was like you know what?
Ultimately, I saw how myparents were growing up and I
was like man, my family is soimportant to me, that's what I
want to prioritize.
(01:30):
So I started it to ultimatelyspend time with my family, you
know.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Interesting,
interesting take on it.
But why the paver?
But why?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
the paver.
Well, the opportunity that Ikind of saw was just pavers
nonstop in Port St Lucie andultimately I was working a job
where I got to see a lot ofFlorida, and so the pavers don't
stop in Port St Lucie, they goall over what's the
misconception, and somelisteners don't even know what a
(02:03):
paver is.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
So elaborate a little
bit.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
So a paver is?
It's a concrete stone.
They call them paver stones.
They come in a variety of sizes.
A lot of the times they're usedfor driveways or back patios,
just as an alternative drivingdriving source.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
And what are some of
the misconceptions?
What's the pros and cons about, you know, having the stones,
the papers.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
So about 10, 15 years
ago concrete was the biggest
thing being put down right.
It was concrete everywhere andthat's kind of changed.
It's really changed a lot.
Papers are probably the numberone construction material going
down in Florida to date.
So probably one of the probablya misconception about the
(02:50):
business or the industry is, youknow, small businesses don't
know what they're doing or theycan't get the job done the right
way.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
Okay.
So, um, aaron, when you're notbusy running your business, what
does Aaron like to do for fun?
Speaker 3 (03:10):
Well, it's funny
because I started the business
to be able to spend more timeand I'm probably working more
than I ever have.
So I am engaged to be marriedlater this month.
And congratulations, I amengaged to be married later this
month, congratulations.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
So we are busy
planning the rest of our lives.
Okay, so what you're saying isyou're going to have a lot of
time for fun later on, huh?
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Not a lot.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
Let's change gears a
little bit.
Life often does us curveball.
Let's talk about one struggle, one hardship, something that you
can look back today and sayyou're better and stronger
because of it.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Well, I struggled
with addiction to drugs and
alcohol for a good part of mylife and I never could really
get a grasp on it.
Thankfully, this time inOctober, I'll be three years
sober.
Having gone through that.
(04:14):
It really has made me see whatlife is all about and ultimately
made me a much strongerindividual because of that.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Congratulations on
that.
Thank you, I'm going to put youon the spot a little bit, if
it's okay.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, let's go Now
our listeners, there's a lot you
want to share about yourcompany, but I want you to
narrow it down to one thing.
You want our listeners toremember about Pavers, pressure
and Repair.
Well, one thing, ultimately Idon't want them to just come
(05:00):
over here and give me a call.
I really don't.
I want them to know that weexist, that this company exists
and, ultimately, I want them toknow that, whatever company they
choose good, bad we are goingto be your path to pay for
perfection.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Okay now I'm sure you
put something in some of their
heads and they're thinking likeI'm sure you put something in
some of their heads and they'rethinking like hmm this guy
seemed kind of confident Checkthem out.
So the only in mind right nowis how?
How can I get more informationon pavers pressure and repair?
