Travis Mong doesn't just run a water systems business—he's on a mission to transform lives one drop at a time. As the owner of Quality Water Systems, Travis brings together technical expertise with deeply-held faith values to serve his community with integrity and purpose.

What began as his father's company in 1975 has evolved into a comprehensive water solutions provider under Travis's leadership. From water well drilling and treatment to pump repairs and pressure washing, Quality Water Systems tackles the invisible problems lurking in many homes' water supplies. "People just open up their tap and think, 'Hey, I got water,' but they don't really know what's in it," Travis explains, highlighting the importance of water testing and treatment for both well and city water users.

Behind every service call is Travis's core purpose: "to bring people to Jesus Christ and to make someone else's life better because I was a part of it." This mission extends beyond customers to employees, whom Travis considers "internal customers" deserving of care and development. The company even built an in-house training center to ensure technicians master their skills before entering customers' homes.

Travis's journey hasn't been without challenges. After being diagnosed with Crohn's disease and later cancer, he transformed these experiences into opportunities to connect with others facing similar battles. "I don't look at it as that happened to me; it happened for me, so I can help somebody else," he shares with remarkable perspective.

With core values centered on integrity—"doing the right thing when no one's watching"—and delivering exceptional experiences through thoughtful details, Quality Water Systems stands behind its name in every sense. Experience the difference that faith-driven service makes by calling 330-332-9464 or visiting drinkquality.com today to ensure your family's water is as pure as the intentions behind this remarkable local business.

Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast.
Are you looking to hype up yourwater systems a little bit?
I might have the person for you.
I might have the person for you.
Today I have the pleasure ofintroducing your good neighbor,
travis Mong, with Quality WaterSystems.
Welcome, travis.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Thank you for having me.
I appreciate it, Stacey.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Absolutely.
We're excited to learn allabout your business.
Can you tell us a little bitabout what your company is and
what you do?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Sure, absolutely so.
We actually do water welldrilling, water treatment, well
pump repair and replace, and wealso do pressure washing as well
.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
All right, and how did you get involved with this?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Oh boy.
So a couple things.
Well, my dad started back in1975 and I purchased the
business a few years ago and Iwould just, I absolutely loved
it and my biggest thing was Iwanted to fulfill my personal
core purpose and which was tobring people to Jesus Christ and

(01:21):
to make someone else's lifebetter, because I was a part of
it.
And so I do that every day andlive out that, you know, that
vision to not only help ourexternal customers but our
internal customers, which areemployees.
So we I constantly try to, youknow help them on their in their
daily lives.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
That's awesome.
What do you think are some ofthe misconceptions or myths
about water systems?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Yeah, well, I think, I think just in the industry
like water systems also, but theindustry itself, you know, it's
not as easy as people think.
So we actually built a trainingcenter in househouse for our
employees so that way you know, before we send someone to their
home, you know, we want to makesure that you know our guys show

(02:12):
up with the highest level ofexperience.
So we spent a lot of hours andtime in training that.
And I think, as far as like thewater and that kind of thing,
you know people just open uptheir tab and they just, you
know, hey, I got water, but theydon't really know what's in it.
So, you know, I think that'swhy it's important to understand
, have a water test done to seewhat the hardness levels are, to

(02:34):
see if there's calcium buildupand, yeah, just to make sure the
water is safe for them andtheir family.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Which brings me to my next question who would your?
Who's your target customer?
What?
What are you?
Who does quality water systemsappeal to or draw in?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah.
So I mean a lot of ourcustomers are on well water and
so if you're on, if you're on awell, you know, a lot of times
there's like harness issues andmaybe like red stains in the
toilet, stuff like that, butalso the city water too.
So we have a lot of customersthat's like hardness issues and
maybe like red stains in thetoilets, stuff like that, but
also with city water too.
So we have a lot of customersthat you know have calcium
buildup and they have whitespots in their showers.
They may have.

(03:13):
You know, they want to be ableto drink their water at home, so
we offer reverse osmosissystems for that.
So it really is our customers.
Just someone wants their waterdone at the highest level and
it's going to be safe for themand their family.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
So yeah, Well, it sounds like you're pretty much
up to your knees in the waterbusiness.
So what do you do for fun?

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Well, I'll tell you what I do a lot of different
things for fun, but I'll tellyou what I really enjoy the most
is to just to help people andto to make their life better.
Um, we love to help thecommunity.
That's one of the things I lovedoing for fun.
I love to see people get out ofcredit card debt, even though

(03:58):
they may not know how to do thatwith, like Dave Ramsey or
something like that.
So, you know, we'll teach someof our people that and, um, yeah
, just bring people to uh to theLord and uh, if they haven't
been, uh, no to.
You know, let them know that.
You know there is, there is,amazing things when you're, when

(04:19):
you're walking with the Lord.
So we try to embed that in ourmodel of our company.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
So switching gears just a little bit.
Can you describe either ahardship or a challenge that you
overcame that made you stronger?
Does anything come to mind?

Speaker 3 (04:36):
Yeah, I got a couple of things on that one.
So I got diagnosed with Crohn'sdisease a couple of years back
and then I found out that I hadcancer after that and that was
very, very difficult.
But you know know, throughthose tough times I was able to,
you know, speak with peoplethat you know may be struggling

(04:57):
with with cancer or maybestruggling with, you know,
crohn's disease.
So I don't look at it as thathappened to me it happened for
me, so that way I can helpsomebody else.
So, as far as health wise, yeah, that's probably my biggest, my
biggest struggle.
But you know, praise god that Iam, uh, I can't find any cancer
and the lord jesus christ uhhealed me, so yeah, that's

(05:18):
awesome, that's very that'swonderful to hear.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Um, so tell our listeners how do they get a hold
of quality water systems?
Um, how do they get a hold ofyou?

Speaker 3 (05:30):
yeah, so they can give us a call at 330-332-9464.
They can also visit us on ourwebsite at drinkqualitycom,
which is easy to remember.
So that's drinkqualitycom and330-332-9464.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
And just one more thing what's something that our
listeners should know about you?
What's one thing that theyshould remember about quality
water systems?

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Well, I think the biggest thing is that do stand
behind our name, but we alsobelieve strongly in our core
values, and our core values arewe deliver a well service,
highest level of integrity.
We always do the right thingwhen no one's watching and we
just make sure that we deliver awell customer experience.

(06:20):
So we'll call our customersahead of time.
Are they like water or coffeeor you know just little things
like that?
You know how can we really makethem smile today?
And that's the big thing is isthat we try to.
We stand behind our name andyou know we've been really
blessed and you know my dad justreally started an amazing

(06:41):
company and we are trying tocontinue to expand that legacy
and, yeah, so we're reallyblessed.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Wonderful.
Well, it has been an absolutepleasure meeting you and talking
to you.

we wish you and your businessthe absolute very best.
