Charlie’s Courage

Of Charlie’s courage what a story to be told
To boys and girls everywhere to everyone young and old

Of his life you’ve probably heard
Extraordinary because he stood on God’s Word

He’d go around from place to place
And meet with people face to face

He could have spouted his ideas over Meta
But instead he met in person to make the world better

He did it not for a standing ovation
But simply for an honest conversation

To those with whom he spoke mostly held different views
So he simply shared with them God’s wonderful news

That there is a heaven for those who care
And Charlie boldly said, “I hope to see you there”

That Jesus came down and stepped over the fence
Then took on our sin and prison sentence

So that all who believe what Jesus has done
Can be part of God’s family, his daughters and sons

That when the lies of the world have proved to corrupt
All you must to do is simply look up

Now some may say Charlie didn’t show love
But what they don’t know is he had pow’r from above

For when he spoke to people whether black or white
Like Jesus they were precious in his sight

So when it comes time for us to be bold
Just remember the story Charlie’s life told

When God speaks to your heart, please don’t be discouraged
Like Charlie trust God and speak truth with courage
