Fighters who gather in the control room of Knothole.
Knuckles is on a mission, marching along the border of the
Great Forest and straight into Robotropolis.

We cut to Knuckles standing in the heart of Robotropolis.

Me, Nick, the writer of the script, would like to interject
and say the mere fact of liftingan island, literally removing it
from the environment, is not environmentally friendly.
In fact, I'd say it's the opposite since you actually
destroyed the environment. We flash back to a conversation

between Knuckles and Mighty. Knuckles explains that he's seen
a Chaos Emerald break in half. Mighty refuses to believe that
the ultimate energy source couldbe broken.
Knuckles then switches topics. Long ago, when my ancestors
raised this floating island intothe sky, it was powered by a
dozen Chaos Emeralds. But not anymore.

Now, there's only one green gem in the central chamber.
That worries me. I'm the guardian of this island.
If that last emerald fails, it could spell doom for everyone.
Mighty asks how he can get another one.
Knuckles walks up to a tree theyjust happened to be standing
next to. He opens a hatch in the tree and
pulls out the Book of Myths. Mighty gasps.

Knuckles opens it up and begins reading.
Let's see, here we here we are. Chaos Emeralds are mystically
linked to the magic rings found inside the zones.
However, legends speak of one other location where they can be
found. The Book of Myths is apparently
a picture book. Inside we see three pictures.
(05:52):
First is a lake, the second the lake begins to glow gold, and
then third, the ring is floatingabove said lake, the lake of
rings. It is said that the pastoral
pond can suddenly give off a golden glow and a magic ring
breaks the surface. Some say the rings are a
byproduct of the emeralds, otherothers say it's the other way

around. What?
What did we say Mighty sounds like?
I don't. I have no clue.
Not remember, you know what, let's just I'm going to pull an
audible Rocky. He sounds like Rocky.
That might actually have been it.
Look, it definitely was not it, because I would have remembered

The ring radiates cosmic energy.The ring radiates cosmic energy.
But the lake? But the lake's location is lost
to history. It's just Knuckles, but deeper.

Knuckles. And this is Knuckles again.
Maybe not. The keyword is radiates.
You know that's you know that Sonic the Hedgehog battles a
villain called Robotnik who lives in a radioactive city
called Robotropolis. So what if the source of the
radiation isn't pollution? Maybe the Lake of Rings is

nearby and there's and where there's rings, there could be
chaos Emeralds. I got to know.
Mind the island for me. Mighty Knuckles jumps off the
island and glides down using hisdreadlocks, lands at the edge of
Knothole Forest and starts marching towards Robotropolis.
Knuckles stumbles upon a grotty grotto with an old camera

monitoring the lake. Knuckle starts to investigate
the grotto when he gets uppercutted by our favorite blue
hedgehog. End of Part 1.
I mean, I mean, as always, not much this first, first part.
So they're just doing a lot of set up.
I like, I like how the fairy tale Book of Rings is a picture

book pretty much when you look at the fairy, it's like, I don't
know, you just expect it to be like a very text heavy thing,
but instead there's just like, no, you, you guys are dumb.

Yeah, it's like whoever wrote this or published it was like,

OK, OK, that's all I needed. Crash of the Titans, Part 2
Knuckles flies into the air, does a cool little flip, and

lands back on his feet. Knuckles prepares for a brawl
when Sonic announces that he must read this piece of paper
before they fight. I, Princess Sally, blah blah
blah, legal department requires Yak yak, offer your nonviolent
discussion on and on you. Know what's really funny?
(14:19):
This is very Trump of him. Like like quoting him pretty
much. Yeah.
Just then, a fist appears, punching through the paper and
into Sonic's face, knocking him on the ground.
Here, Sonic calls Knuckles Redbone.
I'm not sure, but Redbone feels racist if it's not Sonic 100%

meant it in a racist way. Sonic gets up and starts running
in place like an engine revving,ready to unleash the beast.
Sonic gives himself the green light and he dashes to Knuckles
face, punching him. Sonic continues running and
begins to circle back for another attack.
Knuckles sees the route Sonic isgoing to take and pulls up the

root of a nearby tree, creating a tripping hazard for Sonic.
It works. Sonic gets up and literally
lifts the tree from the ground, uprooting it.
He takes the tree and smashes iton Knuckles head.
Sally rose up in her floating. Sally rose up in her floating
scooter and tells everyone to calm down her portable computer.

Nicole is detecting some seriousradiation and it's coming from
the hole where Sonic ripped up the tree.
The three of them walk up to thehole.
End of Part 2. This is going to be very action
oriented comics, so. This is this is like very like
Goku and Vegeta coded. I mean it's about to be if it
wasn't before the The only real call out I have is I think.

I mean I know Sonic is strong but he literally uproots a tree
and swings it like a bat at knuckles that.
Is I'm gonna I, I can, I, I shouldn't, but I can excuse that
as like adrenaline, like Sonic does have like more like

Sally, Sonic and Knuckles are peering over a hole looking into

an almost amusement park esque area with rings and spiked balls
like you would see in a Sonic level.
More importantly, there are several Chaos Emeralds floating
around the zone. Knuckles, seeing the Chaos
Emeralds, dives right in with nohesitation.
Sonic, seeing Knuckles dive in with no hesitation, dives in
himself when Salad decides this is a perfect time to drop a

bombshell. Oh, go after him Sonic, he
hasn't changed since we used to spend summers together.
Sonic immediately perks up and asks what does she mean?
Sally exclaims. This isn't the time or place.
Sonic dives back into the zone chasing Knuckles.
(18:43):
Sonic finds Knuckles. He's hoarding dozens of rings,
but Sonic himself is holding rings as well, and a Chaos
Emerald. Sonic starts thinking that he'll
need to do some extreme measuresif he's going to beat Knuckles,
and begins monologuing. It's the only way.
As Knucks said, this zone's richin rings and emeralds.
(19:06):
By juicing the top speed and running over him, I'll hit the
magic numbers. Sonic runs over Knuckles,
knocking him over, and those numbers are 50 Magic Rings and
seven Chaos Emeralds, changing me into Super Sonic.
Sonic turns golden and asks for Knuckles's unconditional
(19:28):
surrender. Unbeknownst to Sonic, he
explained how to turn Super out loud, and Knuckles was able to
hear how to change. Knuckles gathers up the seven
Chaos Emeralds and 50 Rings and turns into Hyper Knuckles, which
is essentially a shiny Knuckles.That is about the extent I can
do Pokémon jokes, so enjoy it. It's pretty much the last 1A
(19:52):
pink variant of Knuckles. Knuckles and Sonic exchange very
shadow ask dialogue, with Sonic claiming knuckles is a copycat
and that knuckles power can't compare it to his.
You talk too much at Super hog, so I'm going to super shut you
up once and for all. Hyper Knuckles Uppercuts
(20:14):
Supersonic. Not bad Hyper Knuckles, your
strength has increased A thousandfold.
Sonic then starts beating on Knuckles face like it's a speed
bag that boxers use, but that means Supersonic is 1000 times
faster than before. Perhaps you've noticed Sonic and

Knuckles run at each other like Tom Cruise diving towards Doug
Ray Scott at the end of Mission Impossible 2.
End of Part 3. That's a pretty good image.
I just more people need to thinkabout the time when Tom Cruise
and I've, I already forgot together guys name drive at each
other on a motorcycle at top speeds.

Crash of the Titans Part 4 The Titans crash, both unleashing
their full power on one another.They bounce back and continue

the 2 commands hurdle towards each other at incalculable
speed. Unimaginable raw energy erupts,
literally bending time and space.
The walls containing the zones reality begin warping wildly.
The zone can no longer contain itself.
It swells, it cracks, it explodes.

We cut to Robotnik and a SWAT bot looking at a computer.
They conclude that the zone is destroyed and all the chaos
emeralds and rings in the zone have been annihilated.
We cut back to Sonic who is backon Mobius and waking up.
Sally walks up to Sonic and helps him up.
Sonic asks what happened after you guys entered the zone?
(26:28):
I rejoined Tales who was monitoring your progress.
Suddenly we saw it blown to bits.
We watched as the very fabric ofreality tore apart, ejecting
YouTube maniacs. You landed right next to the
lake where it all started. I got to my sky cycle and flew
here ASAP. Sally and Sonic get on the sky
(26:49):
cycle and start flying away. We cut the Knuckles flying back
to the floating island with Mighty waiting for his return.
Mighty informs Knuckles that hisfight with Sonic has been the
talk of the town and that they think all the chaos are molds
have been destroyed in a battle.Knuckles hears this and shows
Mighty one of the chaos are molds he had with him the entire

time. End of part 4.
So I think, I think the implication here is, well, it
does say just specifically that zone, right?
And so it's saying that zone collapse taking all the emeralds
with it in the rings, right? I bet they're gonna use that as

an excuse to why there's like 0 chaos emeralds now, right?
It's too, too easy of a thing, yeah.
They randomly set up this thing where the the he has camera
emeralds where the chaos emeralds are plentiful and then
they immediately solve that issue in the same story.
Yeah. Well, and then on top of it,

they're like, Oh yeah, you literally bent time and space
when you guys destroyed that zone.
So I'm like, OK, this is what's happening is they're like
something's going to happen where the effects of this is
going to ripple through time or something, and all the cast
emeralds are going to be gone except for Seven.

They needed so they had two options.
Either one, simply say that there are 7 chaos emeralds,
that's it, That's all you need to say.
Or two, we have them fight and that's their fault.
And so it it to me, it sounds like they needed a special,
right? They were contracted with a

special. And it's like, well, we
obviously need to have Sonic andKnuckles fight.
That sounds cool. Well, we need to have
consequences for this fight. OK, well, let's have it so that
there's a they they worked backwards is what I'm I'm
getting at. That's the vibe.
That's the vibe I'm getting fromthis on a meta level.
So I, I don't know it's that's, that's the best I can come up

with. Speaking of a meta level, has
Knuckles ever gone hyper Knuckles in the games?
In the games I maybe, but I don't know.
Up to this point, I don't know. I don't know who did it first,
the comics or the games. So this is 1996, right?

I think you can maybe do it in Sonic 3 and that's it.
And Sonic 3 came out in 95 or 96. 95 or something like that OK

In that zone between Sonic Adventure coming out and Sonic

process is because obviously if that's the case, the floating
island would be radiated, right?But they have that chamber
inside the island that houses all the radiation and whatnot.

And so he's just like in comic, like not reconing, but like
editing in a way. I love it.

wall of fog, almost as if to fight a boss in a Dark Souls

Knuckles. You ought not to come after me
should anything happen, for onlyyou can carry on as the
guardian. That is your responsibility.

Knuckles's dad is now standing in front of a wall of energy.

No matter how much I may have wanted to, even when I witnessed
my father leaping into that wallof energy and vanishing before

be in a team. And then like they, they're all
kind of playing tag and it's like, I, I, I don't know, they
don't really build up to that well.

But the conclusion the, the conclusion to this character arc
is that, hey, I need to grow up and be part of this team.
I need to rely on others, which isn't done very well because
he's just by himself. Well, also wasn't didn't no one
on that team wanted to be a team?
Didn't they all reject the premise?

And then, but they kept hanging out.
Yeah, well, I mean, you can hangout, but not be a team.
I guess this isn't very done. This isn't done very well.
It's not done very well and it'sspread out over well, literal
months, like 1/2 year it feels like at this point.

because it's a lot of build up through something that doesn't

and say the mere fact of liftingan island, literally removing it

between Knuckles and Mighty. Knuckles explains that he's seen
a Chaos Emerald break in half. Mighty refuses to believe that
the ultimate energy source couldbe broken.
Knuckles then switches topics. Long ago, when my ancestors
raised this floating island intothe sky, it was powered by a
dozen Chaos Emeralds. But not anymore.

Now, there's only one green gem in the central chamber.
That worries me. I'm the guardian of this island.
If that last emerald fails, it could spell doom for everyone.
Mighty asks how he can get another one.
Knuckles walks up to a tree theyjust happened to be standing
next to. He opens a hatch in the tree and
pulls out the Book of Myths. Mighty gasps.

Knuckles opens it up and begins reading.
Let's see, here we here we are. Chaos Emeralds are mystically
linked to the magic rings found inside the zones.
However, legends speak of one other location where they can be
found. The Book of Myths is apparently
a picture book. Inside we see three pictures.

First is a lake, the second the lake begins to glow gold, and
then third, the ring is floatingabove said lake, the lake of
rings. It is said that the pastoral
pond can suddenly give off a golden glow and a magic ring
breaks the surface. Some say the rings are a
byproduct of the emeralds, otherothers say it's the other way

around. What?
What did we say Mighty sounds like?
I don't. I have no clue.
Not remember, you know what, let's just I'm going to pull an
audible Rocky. He sounds like Rocky.
That might actually have been it.
Look, it definitely was not it, because I would have remembered

You know that's you know that Sonic the Hedgehog battles a
villain called Robotnik who lives in a radioactive city
called Robotropolis. So what if the source of the
radiation isn't pollution? Maybe the Lake of Rings is

nearby and there's and where there's rings, there could be
chaos Emeralds. I got to know.
Mind the island for me. Mighty Knuckles jumps off the
island and glides down using hisdreadlocks, lands at the edge of
Knothole Forest and starts marching towards Robotropolis.
Knuckles stumbles upon a grotty grotto with an old camera

monitoring the lake. Knuckle starts to investigate
the grotto when he gets uppercutted by our favorite blue
hedgehog. End of Part 1.
I mean, I mean, as always, not much this first, first part.
So they're just doing a lot of set up.
I like, I like how the fairy tale Book of Rings is a picture

book pretty much when you look at the fairy, it's like, I don't
know, you just expect it to be like a very text heavy thing,
but instead there's just like, no, you, you guys are dumb.

around the zone. Knuckles, seeing the Chaos
Emeralds, dives right in with nohesitation.

himself when Salad decides this is a perfect time to drop a

Sonic immediately perks up and asks what does she mean?

but Sonic himself is holding rings as well, and a Chaos

As Knucks said, this zone's richin rings and emeralds.

By juicing the top speed and running over him, I'll hit the
magic numbers. Sonic runs over Knuckles,
knocking him over, and those numbers are 50 Magic Rings and
seven Chaos Emeralds, changing me into Super Sonic.
Sonic turns golden and asks for Knuckles's unconditional

surrender. Unbeknownst to Sonic, he
explained how to turn Super out loud, and Knuckles was able to
hear how to change. Knuckles gathers up the seven
Chaos Emeralds and 50 Rings and turns into Hyper Knuckles, which
is essentially a shiny Knuckles.That is about the extent I can
do Pokémon jokes, so enjoy it. It's pretty much the last 1A

pink variant of Knuckles. Knuckles and Sonic exchange very
shadow ask dialogue, with Sonic claiming knuckles is a copycat
and that knuckles power can't compare it to his.

The most we're getting is this forbidden zone thing which.
Which we've referenced before has been referenced.

There's something. There's something really funny
about those panels, though, where it's like, hey, giant wall
of fire, let me just leap straight into this.
It is pretty good. I acknowledge I I do like this.

It it does. I like it because there's a part
of me that's just like, maybe this dude was suicidal and just
hated his kid. And he just like made-up this
like very like elaborate lore that Knuckles has been basing
his life off of the entire time,that none of it is real.
And then he was just like, finally, let me get out of here.
And he just like leaps into fire.

Like what if, what if? Because like, where's the other
kid? Not right.
There's no, there's no other one.
It's just, it's just, it's just Knuckles in his dad, right?
So Knuckle's dad can be saying anything and Knuckles is just
going to believe it, right? Like what?
You know, dad's like to fuck with kids.
Like, I remember I dated a girl once whose father told her that

whenever it said no outlet, thatall the streets in that area
have no outlets in their homes. And I was just like, that's a
good joke. I I might steal that in the
future. But like, what, what if, what
if, what if, What if? Knuckles Dead is just doing a
bunch of this right now, just being like, yeah, you gotta

Too much responsibility. He he was like just enough of
not a piece of shit to be like, let me teach you how to raise

You see this whole, see this whole floating continent, you're

A whole lot of nothing is reallysaid here.
A little bit of back story, Sure.
And and it he's he's trying to they're they're coming to the

conclusion for Knuckles's character.
Like, hey, I hated this team. I hated having it.
Which to be fair, they didn't really portray that much.
They had like a couple panels atthe original, like chaotic
special. I was like, Nah, I don't want to
be in a team. And then like they, they're all
kind of playing tag and it's like, I, I, I don't know, they
don't really build up to that well.
(49:59):
But the conclusion the, the conclusion to this character arc
is that, hey, I need to grow up and be part of this team.
I need to rely on others, which isn't done very well because
he's just by himself. Well, also wasn't didn't no one
on that team wanted to be a team?
Didn't they all reject the premise?
(50:21):
And then, but they kept hanging out.
Yeah, well, I mean, you can hangout, but not be a team.
I guess this isn't very done. This isn't done very well.
It's not done very well and it'sspread out over well, literal
months, like 1/2 year it feels like at this point.
It seems yeah, right. Honestly it's it feels insane
(50:46):
because it's a lot of build up through something that doesn't
seem like it needs build up. No.
And you know what, maybe the next issue is going to be like,
oh, we needed all of this build up, but I, I can't, I can't see
that happening. Yeah, the great work, Ken
Penders this is, and Mike and Mike this is the, this is the

taste of the deep lore that we get with the Anchidnas.
Can't wait. Yeah, I just hope there's not
more than one forbidden zone because that's going to drive me
up the fucking wall because there's already a forbidden
zone. Don't make more.
