(00:03):
The blobs are right, and beyondbeyond is nice. I'm gonna keep it
flat. He's on the line lastnice for last chicken flat. Have a
lost bess, so crab lost? All right, vibes are right, I'll

(00:32):
Beyonce is right. This is acup of black coffee. Uh, probably
the most essential thing that I've beendrinking over the last almost two months,
Very very important. I don't knowwhat brand it is, the Blue Hawaiian
brand. Cost effective for those whoare parents, very very good. I

(00:53):
am a dark rose drinker. Ishould know more about it. Didn't have
time. I'm recording this in thekitchen, the house. It's full of
family, which is how I likeit and how I like to keep it
so. Uh. These days Irecord wherever and whenever I can. And
this just so happens to be aday where wine didn't make sense. Coffee
most certainly did. What's it reallytastes like? Uh? First off,

(01:19):
when I have my son in myarms and a cup of coffee that combo
is undefeated, it tastes like beingthe king of all kings. And I
don't mean like Jesus Christ. Imean I mean just being at the upper
echelon of how you could feel.So let's just say that's what it tastes

(01:41):
like. How about that? There'sanother episode of a podcast called Grab a
Glass? What's about Yours? Truly? David Thomas, better known as Dtest
Boy's Bag, also known as theOne and only Big Broccolini. If I'm
not mistaken, which I very wellcould be, I believe that this is
episode one nine. Thank you forjoining me. Really really appreciate your time,

(02:06):
your support, your focus, especiallyas we continue to go down the
same theme of conversations that we're having, perspectives that we're going back and forth
on, love the interaction. GrabGlasses doing great? You guys like the
shorter episodes. I don't know.I feel like I'm feeling the urge to

(02:27):
get back to a little bit ofa longer form. But we'll see,
we'll see, we'll see. Anyways, I hope everything is great. Hopefully
you are going to have some waterwith this, You're going to maybe light
some trees up, and of course, as you know you should grab a
glass. Let's let's actually throw anad in here real quick. You know,
I got I got bills and akid and all, and then we'll

(02:51):
jump in everything Last week, Ispoke about prioritizing yourself and how you never
lose when you do that. Ifyou prioritize yourself, you won't lose.
I'm a firm believer in that, such a firm believer in that, and
I'm a firm believer in advocating forpeople I love, and I care about
doing that doing just that. Pleaseprioritize yourself, even though I know it's

(03:16):
a difficult thing to do. Itis. It's a difficult thing to do,
but I am a huge advocate ofit, and it's a difficult thing
to do. For those that takepride in taking care of others or those
that see value in helping or seeingothers be happy, it could be a

(03:37):
difficult thing to do. We talkedabout that last week, and I've been
making sure that this year I'm alwayscalibrating and recalibrating my own ability to do
that, as well as make surethat my priorities, all my other priorities,

(03:58):
which is a small list, thatthose priorities remain intact, and that
I'm not diverting from keeping the importantthings in focus. Calibrating, recalibrating,
Am I doing it? Am Inot doing it? Let's double check.
One of the overarching priorities for me, being someone who is now a father
but also a son, a brother, a husband, a friend, and

(04:24):
of course a broadcaster, is topractice what I preach. That's like a
huge priority for me this year,to make sure that I'm calibrating and recalibrating
the fact that I am practicing anythingthat comes out of my mouth. To
ensure that whatever I do utter outof this mouth, this very very important
mouth, this very very special mouth, y'all gonna get this podcast. Whatever

(04:47):
I utter from this mouth, myactions must prove non negotiable that if I
say it, I live it.Fraudulents will never be tolerated. May be
tolerated at times. Flatulence may betolerated, uh sometimes, but fraudulents never

(05:09):
never ever fraudulentce no fraudulentce, nunkanever so big. Broccolini just can't accept
that from himself. Some thinking throughthat, taking a hard look. Am
I doing what I said I woulddo? Am I being what I tell
other people that they should be.Am I telling and showing a nikka?

(05:32):
I'll tell you some shit and nevershow it to you, like I said?
Am I being an example of someonewho is prioritizing himself. So as
I get ready to share a perspectiveand a prescription, if you will,
so to speak, I wanted tolet you guys know that I'm in constant
reflection. I posted something excuse me, and somebody sent me back to me

(06:00):
like damn big Broccolini on his shit, and I'm like, I I'm saying
it to me too, So Iwant that to be clear. If if
you say it D two, youbetter live it, you better exemplify it.
For those of you that haven't beenkeeping up with the show and are
just getting back in tune, rightbefore episode two hundred, you know,

(06:21):
people do that right, you know, niggas do that right right before one
milestone episode. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they do that like an episode
or two before. You know, they check in to the right before the
big joints just to be able tonot be phony when they say, wow,
two hundred episodes, that's huge, congrats bro. They do that,

(06:43):
so I peeped. I know thegame. I know the game. So
for those of you that haven't beenkeeping up with the show for real life
that my mom has been here inPortland with us for over the last two
months, or so, which hasbeen an absolute godsend. I'm gonna keep
repeating that in terms of just ourability to learn and grow as parents,
be a reassuring voice and mentor whenwe need it, helping hand around the

(07:04):
house more like a like a helpingarm, not even hand like a carry
all the girls. There's all thattype of shit, and just an overall
delight to watch her become a grandparent'sbeen really cool. So if you didn't
know that, I'm letting you knownow she's been here. But aside from
all that, she's been a bitof a sounding board in real time to

(07:25):
some of the realizations and ideas thatmake it to the show. I would
say, actually that my family isalways that sounding board. But with her
being here in person versus over thephone or FaceTime or what have you,
she's actually gotten to see the physicalwork, and I can walk over and
show her something in the moment whileI'm working on it or thinking through it,

(07:50):
and for weeks she's gonna test.I've been telling her this phrase or
saying this phrase to her, likeyo, we are sick, and it's
gotten to the point where I don'teven have to explain what I mean by
that we'll be watching something that I'lljust be like, we are sick.

(08:11):
We're sick, we usually being society, or we being black folks, or
we being Americans, or we beingmen. I'm not an anthropologist, nor
am I an animal expert, butwe've got to be the most ego maniacal

(08:31):
species walking the planet, human beings. That is the most miserable motherfucker is
an animal kingdom gotta be. Weseem to detest other people, especially those
that might need our support most orthose that are already being dog piled.

(08:52):
We just seem to have this true, abhorrent, funny words, abhorrent loathing
ass energy amongst people. And it'sjust for me draining to watch. And

(09:13):
if you aren't intentional with unplugging fromwhatever you call the Internet, the matrix,
social media, bluepill, red pill, whatever the fuck, then you'll
watch people hate each other, threateneach other, try to one up each
other, ridicule and nigga all daylong, all day long, you will

(09:43):
see fucking horrible energy, just justjust real low level, low life,
ego driven bullshit. I watched comedianMonique on the Is it called club Sha
club Sha Sha? Yes? Almostsaid uncle shaha. I don't know why

(10:05):
y'all niggas call this random swoll bigtongue nigga uncle, but that's that's on
y'all. No hate, that's nothate. That's not hate. That's just
why don't y'all have mothers who havebrothers and fathers who have a brother.
Anyway, I watched Monique on hisshow and it was a fantastic interview and
I left it thinking, Wow,good job, Monique. That was great.

(10:26):
I watched her say her piece abouther career, her life, and
her oldest son, which she admittedlyhas little to no relationship with, and
then we watched her son thoughtfully respondto the fact that his name was brought
up in this space and that hewanted to just say his piece. He
never has and and would like toadd some color and some truth to what

(10:48):
his mother had said about him ona podcast that's got millions and millions and
millions of use on YouTube. He'san adult now, he's in an adult
man, so her child but anadult. So that makes sense for everybody,
especially since Monique admitted, like Isaid, to basically neglecting her duties

(11:09):
as a mother during his younger yearsof life. So we watched that.
She says her piece about her entirelife, including the stories about her son
and how she wasn't there for him. He thoughtfully responds, and then she
comes back and gets on camera inher home to respond to his shit with

(11:30):
her husband to fact check it.And I'm watching this like will this end?
Like okay? So then maybe theson will say something back, and
then she's gonna say something the amountof tit for tat And again, this

(11:50):
is not a gossip podcast. I'mnot judging Monique. I'm just thinking in
my head, especially as a newparent, like if I ever do anything
to my son that would make himfeel a way, and I can admit
that it's justified, and then whenhe speaks on it for the first time

(12:11):
for me to then want to turnon a camera so the world can not
overly judge me, and I gottasay more and drag him. We are
sick. We had a shooting afterthe Super Bowl in Kansas City at a

(12:35):
parade, and I know a radioDJ and a broadcaster, Lisa Lopez Galvin,
lost her life. Some want tojust celebrate her because apparently some juveniles
got into it about probably some egodriven not that serious bullshit. We've been

(13:01):
following the Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Donald clump. We've been following the
Donald Trump cases in the fact thatFannie Willis is now being questioned Nathan Wade
and you know, Jessica Pearson,Jeff Malone type shit for my suit's hats.

(13:22):
Y'all know what I'm talking about. But the vitriolog you see online about
this whole thing just just a lotof a lot of tit for tat.
Maybe that'll be the name of theepisode, tit for tat, titty for
tatty. It just I don't understandand ask I recalibrate day after day,

(13:48):
week after week, month after monththis year. While I'm pointing out that
I think that this is gross, that human beings should just take a chill
pill and try to understand each otherand remove as much ego out of shit
as you can. I'm trying tomake sure that I exemplify that if I
speak it here on this podcast,on this broadcast Bouqueta blessings and flash it

(14:13):
only after the break. It's beena little minute since I've been did bouquet
blessings. It's twenty twenty four.I got some flowers to give out.
I'm giving out flowers to a personalgroup of entergy for some of the dope
as fuck. We call that bouquetof blessings on grab a glasses back again.
It should be very easy to knowwho's going to get the bouquet to
my mother, who's been here twomonths to help us understand, to learn

(14:39):
and raise our sun and his verybeginning of life. To you a flowers.
Know that not everybody has that privilegeand luxury to have any loved one
assist in a very very difficult transition, a massive learning curve and a financial

(15:07):
burden for some. So I wantto let you know that having that is
absolutely a privilege and I acknowledge that. And Mom, I love you,
thank you so much. I don'treally have much for you. Flash it
only. I'm not even gonna dothe whole preview. My mama got Peacock,
so we're watching it on Peacock whenwe have a moment. We had

(15:30):
to watch Oppenheimer in like four sessions, but we watched that. That was
fly. Check that out if youhave Peacock or if you want to spend
the twenty bucks to rent it fromPrime or Apple Plus or wherever the hell
The Holdovers was really good with PaulGiamatti. Hopefully I said that right.
Divine Joy ran off with a visionin it, So push play on that.
And then I haven't had the opportunitythe pleasure just yet to hit go

(15:54):
on the Vince Staples Show on Netflix, but I'm already knowing that it's likely.
If it's anything like Vince is inany interview and anything that I've ever
watched him in, I'm assuming it'sfantastic, thoughtfully put together in a real
cinematic experience. So I haven't seenit yet, but I would suggest you
push play on that for sure. And that concludes another episode of a podcast

(16:17):
called Grab a Glasses about Your TrulyDavid Thomas Better Knows De Tizzle Put Your
Money mother Fucker Boys, also knownas the One on Only Big Brocolani.
This is episode one ninete. IfI'm not mistaken, I really really appreciate
y'all pushing play. You know somethingdope is coming next week for a small

(16:38):
milestone again, you guys know,I don't. I've kind of gotten pass
all, like, oh man, there's another milestone. We're just doing the
work, that's it. We're justdoing the work, sharing the perspective,
enjoying a glass with y'all. Muchlove to the creators, and never to
the haters, Never to the haters, but much love to the creators,
no matter your flavor, May Godforever be in our favor. Cheers everybody,

(17:00):
