(00:03):
The battle right and the Abians isnice. I'm gonna keep it flat is
on the line, n kicking havethe lost best so crab loved all right.

(00:32):
Vibes are right, ambiance is right. This is a bottle of Xeno
Crown Vineyards twenty nineteen blocks six.Excellent bottle. You guys have heard me
talk about Zena Crown a few timesbefore. This is the bottle that they
believe it's best paired with early springgoing into summer. It's incredible. On

(00:53):
the nose, I'm getting aromas offloral red fruit, like darker red fruit,
thank cranberry, Just really really beautifulon the nose, and then on
the palate. I could drink thiswhole bottle cherry spice again, of course
red fude, but like a redfruit, but like a just really rounded,

(01:18):
dark red fruit. It's incredible. The tannins are nice and tight.
It's just this is wine making atits finest. If you aren't familiar with
Shane Moore Shane spelled s, H, A and E and then more with
two o's. You're not familiar withhim, look him up. Incredible wine
maker out here in the Willhambitt Valley. Just insane insane, but y'all don't

(01:42):
really care about any of that.Y'all want to know what it really tastes
like. That's why you come hereto me. It tastes like it tastes
like it tastes like and I don'treally do music ones, but it tastes
like Strawberry Swing from Frank Ocean's NostalgiaUltra. That's an if you know,

(02:02):
you know, but if you don'tknow, buy the wine and then play
the mixtape and play that song specifically, and tell me what you think I
was thinking about nostalgia this week,or I should say I was reminiscing so
on my drives to and from thewill Limit Valley, I often will listen

(02:25):
to a podcast or the same viewplaylists that I've created. Less variety in
my life musically then there was prior. But let's say, like once a
week, I do some what Ilike to call disography digging. I'll just
dig into somebody's discography. I'll findan artist or a group I like a

(02:49):
lot, but I don't know theirfull breadth of work, and I'll just
start from the beginning. Or I'llfind like a genre that intrigues me,
and I'll find a playlist that isn'tcurated by the DSP or some publication,
but by like a random person andjust a vibe out. That said,

(03:12):
I caught myself this week listening tosome late nineties early two thousands neo soul,
which isn't out of the ordinary. But I found a different playlist and
I heard a song that I've hearda million times as a kid. But
I realized that when the song cameout, I was like six or seven
years old. I love the song, incredible song, but I didn't know

(03:40):
what the hell any of it meant, at least not at the time.
And not to say that I didn'tunderstand the words. I did. It's
in English. I understand the words. I believe i'd had some comprehension of
what the song was about. Butbecause when it was released, I was

(04:01):
a pre pubescent boy that was justhearing it on the radio when my parents
were playing it or whatever the casemay be. The words, though I
could comprehend the meaning of them puttogether, I didn't understand what the theme
and the experience of the song meant. Now, I want to be clear,

(04:23):
I've heard people talk about this before, and I've experienced this myself when
the song is about something sexual.Of course, especially us nineties babies,
we were singing songs that had innuendosin them throughout that we just didn't get
at the time. That's not whatI'm talking about. I'm making a distinction
here. I could comprehend what thewords of the song meant back then,

(04:46):
but I just wasn't old enough tohave been through anything to know what feeling
or emotion it was meant to evoke. Later in the week, I heard
another song. This one came outin two thousand and nine, so I
was eighteen, not six or sevenanymore. I've heard this one, literally,
I said a million times earlier.I've heard that one a million times.

(05:09):
This one, I've literally heard amillion times. This is a song
that I would play back to back, on repeat, over and over again.
Literally platinum for me much older thanback in ninety six and ninety seven
when the other song I was referringto came out, so I'd been through

(05:30):
much more. I was old enoughto comprehend the meaning and potentially have been
through something that would allow me toknow that feeling and emotion, I guess
in theory, but I had notexperienced it. So when I'm listening to
this song on repeat over and overagain, I'm comprehending it. I can
understand what the person's talking about, but I personally have no experience in what

(05:54):
this is about. But now hearingit again after a little while at thirty
three going on thirty four, boydid I hear this one differently. Wow,
this work of art means so muchmore, and now that I can
fully identify with what it is andwhat it's meant to stir up in the

(06:18):
consumer that gets to hear it.So in one week, I heard two
songs that I've known for years twentyfive plus years fifteen close to sixteen,
just decades. I've known these songsthat I heard with totally different years.

(06:41):
It was a lesson for me.I feel like in time, a lesson
in place, a lesson in presenceand experience and what that means for how
we understand or don't fully understand something. In the same week, I kid

(07:03):
you not. I saw someone I'veseen at least once a week for a
few years now see them once aweek at least, But instead of seeing
them where and how I usually seethem, I saw them in a different
space for a totally different intention. And when I tell you, that person

(07:27):
was a completely different being in myeyes, I was so taken, Aback.
I'm so used to seeing you hereat this place at this time for
this specific reason, and now I'mseeing you in a totally different space,
different energy, everything's different. Itjust couldn't It almost looked like a different
person to me. I felt likethey had to know that I was taken,

(07:49):
Aback, that I was astonished, that I was just agast and amazed
at how different just the energy ofthe space and how different they were in
the space and the time that Iusually see them, And now from now

(08:09):
on, I'll see them totally differently. Just totally Our ability to see,
hear, smell, taste, andfeel things differently based on time and experience
will never cease to amaze me.The factors or combination thereof of things that

(08:35):
which we are exposed it can justgreatly affect the outcomes that we draw in,
whether it's I don't know, theperson that's pro life until someone in
their families had a medical issue duringa pregnancy, or the person that said

(08:56):
women's basketball was boring until they watchedthe game or went to a game or
you know, wine brings up alot of this. But the person that
didn't like red wine until they hadit at the right temperature, or didn't
like this varile of wine until itwas paired with this food, and now
their mind is completely blown and changedbecause of the surrounding factors. It's incredible.

(09:22):
There can absolutely be a moment intime in which we can move to
an understanding different than the one thatwe had before, that we didn't intend
based on factors out of our control. And I think that if we're open
to that, this floating rock thatwe're all on it does have some hope.

(09:50):
Much love to the creators, nomatter your flavor, May God forever
be in our favor. My nameis David Thomas, David Gerard Thomas.
Cheers everybody, Love y'all, Thanksfor listening.
