In this episode, Mel and I delve into the complexities of special occasions like Mother's Day and birthdays. These events often come with heightened expectations, and when reality doesn't align, it can lead to disappointment.
We share personal stories highlighting how we sometimes downplay our desires - saying things like, "Oh, don't worry about my birthday," or "I don't need anything special."
However, we've come to realize the importance of owning our desires and communicating them clearly.
If celebrating your birthday with family and friends brings you joy, it's okay to express that. If you have specific hopes for Mother's Day, articulating them can help your loved ones understand and meet your expectations.
Communication is key.
By expressing what we truly want, we give our partners and children the opportunity to show up for us in meaningful ways. It's not about grand gestures but about feeling seen and appreciated.
Join us as we explore the significance of being honest about our needs and the positive impact it can have on our relationships and personal fulfillment.
See you soon,
Nat and Mel xx
