Three features of the hope that God gives us 1 The Foundation of Our Hope A The “great mercy” of God, B The new birth we’ve experienced at conversion, C The resurrection of Jesus from the dead. 2 The Nature of Our Hope A Imperishable B Undefiled C Unfading 3 The Certainty of Our Hope A A Sure Hope (1) God is Guarding our Inheritance for us (2) God is guarding us for our inheritance B A Certain Hope C A Hope that won’t be disappointed. John 10:28“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand Conclusion 1 Having this hope for the future changes everything about the way we approach the present. 2 It enables us to have joy even in the midst of earthly difficulties and peace in the midst of earthly uncertainties. 3 It also has a profound effect even on the most basic disposition of our heart as we go through the day. 4 It transforms us into a different person.
