Great Morning! Obviously, you should not be embarrassed or ashamed of being sober or sober curious, but that is easier said than done! Whatever your history with alcohol is, you have every right to say no to a drink, and this doesn't make you any less of a friend or a person. True friends will care more about your mental wellbeing and your happiness than you joining them for a glass of bubbles!
Time stamps:
1:47: gratitude
4:40: start of episode - what my friend said to me that sparked a whole conversation
8:02: where the social pressure comes from (for me anyway!)
11:03: the hard truth about other people's opinions
11:49: be proud of yourself!
14:42: we all get embarrassed about something
16:05: make a commitment to opening a conversation (and hold me accountable to mine)
