Discipleship 103 - How To Study The Bible (Galatians)

In Week 3 of Discipleship 103 we continued our series on "How To Study The Bible" by learning about the "The Interpretive Journey," a 4-step process to biblical interpretation including: 1) Grasp The Text In Their Town; 2) Measure The Width of the River To Cross; 3) Cross The Principlizing Bridge; 4) Apply The Text In Our Town. After this, in preparation for studying the "Fruit of the Spirit," we placed the class in four groups and challenged them to study specific verses in Galatians and use the various resources (commentaries, bible handbooks, etc) to discover the CONTEXT of the verses. Finally, we provided an overview of the epistle of Galatians to help our students understand the immediate context of the discussion of "Fruits of the Spirit," in light of the larger context of Paul's writing to the Galatians.
