This is the Happy Rebel Podcast. I’m Sandra Ann Miller, a.k.a. The Happyist, your certified guide to eudaimonic happiness. WTF is that? Stick around and find out.

Let’s undo the anger and fear that got us here, and change the world by changing our lives. It’s possible. Probably probable. So why not give it a try since that whole fighting fire with fire thing hasn’t really worked.

We, as a culture, as a people, don’t fully understand happiness. We think it comes from outside of us. That it’s fleeting, something we have to earn or deserve. That we must pursue it. None of that is true.

We also mistake happiness for toxic positivity, blissful ignorance or just ignoring what’s going on around us, saying, “It’s fine. I’m fine. Everything is fine!” Nope.

Happiness requires presence, intelligence and integrity. Which is why it may elude some people. But not you! You’re here for a reason. And that’s to understand happiness better and bring the real deal into your life.

Happiness is a super power. It is resistance, it is resilience, it is rebellion and punk AF. What it isn’t is difficult to have or keep…once you understand the hows and whys of it. Which are so basic, you will blush.

Fair warning: I am GenX, my first language is sarcasm, and I’m allergic to BS. And one of the things that makes me very happy is swearing. I’m good at it. You’ll get used to it.

The best thing about being a happy rebel is that you don’t have to give up things you love or become a different person. Nope. You will evolve, though, into the very true you. And that will start a ripple effect, inviting others to be happy rebels, too.

This podcast will come out in four, 10-episode seasons each year — winter, spring, summer and fall — starting on Monday, January 5th, 2026. Follow the pod on the show’s website, happyrebelpodcast.com, to be in the know of what’s going on and coming up. You can join us on Instagram, Threads and Facebook at HappyRebelPodcast and, if you can’t wait for January to be a happy rebel, swing by TheHappyist.Substack.com for a weekly dose.

And, if my voice sounds familiar, that might be from my first podcast, A Sassy Little Podcast. I’m still sassy, but there’s nothing little about being a rebel.

So, are you ready? Say YES! Let’s get happy and disrupty.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
