Gatlinburg, I believe, is their biggest show.
That may be their only show. I don't know.
Is that the case? All right, all that.
Damn, I'm up. This is Hard Park and brought to

(00:21):
you by Right Hunt and Right Toyota out of Scottsdale, AZ.
I'm your host, Jay Penny recording in my home studio.
My rainy home studio. It's not raining in the studio,
but my reigning home studio, my home studio in Gilbert, AZ See
that? That's what happens when you try
to switch things up a little bit.
You get caught up. Coming up on today's show, I
recently went to Buffalo for theweekend.

(00:42):
We actually went out there to watch the Buffalo Bills play at
Highmark Stadium to the New England Patriots.
That would be a week ago. So by the time this comes out,
they were playing tonight, on Monday night.
So what that also means is that Q joins the show in a little bit
so we can catch up on some college football and some Pro
Football where we'll be, right? Where were we Incorrect?
A few updates about that before I move on.

(01:04):
Michigan did lose the USC. Texas did beat Oklahoma and Penn
State has fired James Franklin, so that's going to be coming up
in a little bit. We'll be interesting to see what
we talked about and how close wewere.
Of course, when I travel, that also means a rental car.
I do have a rental car review. We rented a Chevy Trailblazer as
usual. When I travel, you know, I watch
movies on the planes. I'm going to talk about those

(01:26):
movies. A few travel observations as
well. Slammed enough, had an event, I
guess they have this, they have this huge event.
Some say it's the biggest car event in all the United States.
So yeah, that does mean there's a car news segment.
All that more coming up after this word from Arcus Foundry.
So quick story for you. A listener lost a big job,
missed the call, never saw the DM probably because he has

(01:46):
listened to this podcast. It happens and it's fixable.

(02:34):
So in Gatlinburg TN properly have have in front of me so I
don't forget this thing properly.
It's in Pigeon Forge, TN there'sa huge show.
Gatlinburg there's a huge show standing up.
This year had a lot of problems.I don't know if the issue is
actually with the show or the people it attracts.
I'm going to say it's the peoplethat attracts.

(02:56):
Initially, when I saw the outrage on social media, even
the Great SEMA Show had posted about it, I figured, all right,
a bunch of takeover kids doing what they do that nobody
actually likes. And I looked up the videos and
you have a scene. Thousands of people, like
literally thousands of people just crowding the streets, the

(03:17):
gas stations standing on top of things.
Somehow they got on top of a building all over the place.
Fights were breaking out. There's a video of two
Lamborghinis drag racing down the street, so obviously, you
know that's going to be an issue.
And so because of that, they hadto cancel the actual event that
happens indoors the following day, which really sucks kind of

(03:41):
hard to control all the stuff that happens outdoors.
And you become a sad, tragic victim of your own success.
And it's just terrible. But I was prepared to just lay a
flamethrower to all these takeover kids.
And it's not just the takeover crowd.
A lot of the people who are in, it's in, it's causing this
ruckus. They're just people in the car
culture that just don't know howto act.
A lot of young people. There are multiple videos

(04:02):
circulating across social media just like these showing large
crowds gathering in Pigeon Forgewhere fights broke out.
Police were called trying to getthe crowd in order and to go
home. I've even seen videos of people
on the roof of some of these businesses down in Pigeon Forge.
Police say that they were calledout to this to disperse the

(04:22):
crowd. Now, the city of Sevierville has
actually cancelled the car show event that many of these folks
showed up to see. Cancelling the event for Day 2
on Sunday. And we've talked about this
before on the show where we're just the old men coming down on
the young people. We're not trying to be that way,
but it's your mindset. It at times it's just so off

(04:43):
between the ages of like 17 and 23, esecially if you have some
money, if you have some cars in this, in this era of social
media, you want the clout, you want the clip.
If someone's fist fighting, you don't break it up anymore.
You just take your phone out andrecord it.
Like back in my day, I'm old. Back in the day, no one, we
didn't have cell phones. There'd be a fight and then

(05:04):
people would eventually jump in and break it up and that's it.
Now everything's on blast on social media.
I pulled this off of Twitter. We can sign enough law
enforcement activity calls, 2317calls, 552 citations, 90
crashes, 75 arrests. You can't blame slammed enough.
You have to blame the people fornot knowing how to act in this

(05:26):
situation. And it's a tragic because now
you're saying that slammed enough may not be allowed back
there next year. And so where are they going to
go? Bigger and better things, I
suppose. But you just can't control the
people. And that's tragic that people
don't know how to how to act. Julian Brown, known for his
plastelene, he's the guy who youmay have seen him online, may

(05:48):
have not been on how much you'rein the cars.
He's found a way to turn plasticinto fuel.
Naysayers say he's definitely not the first person to do this,
but I would say in today's worldof social media and clout, he is
the biggest name in the game. Julian Brown.
Recently, he put this in his Dodge Scat pack or a Dodge Scat
Pack and it ran perfectly. You can see those videos online.

(06:10):
I would be very curious to know what the long term effects
though, of this on a car's engine.
It may be perfect, maybe cleaner.
You know how you put those additives in and they're
supposed to take away the gunk and some of them actually do do
that and some of them actually hurt your motor.
I think somebody in the industryshould pull this kid aside and
be willing to work with them. Give him some huge grants, bring
him in. Obviously he's going to be

(06:30):
killing it on social media with the money that he's making, but
that would be really neat. And he needs to watch his back
because that's an industry that doesn't like to be disrupted.
But they should do a stress testof these motors overtime running
on his gas. That's the logical next step,
but it's pretty damn cool. All right, now to my part of the

(06:51):
news. We rented a Chevy Trailblazer.
It wasn't on purpose. Now, when we travel, usually we
use my wife's account, she rentsHertz.
When we got to Buffalo, the self-serve counter was down, so
she had to go up, stand in line. But when she came down, we got
the Trailblazer and I got to tell you we got the the Lt.
model, which isn't the bottom ofthe line, but it's almost the

(07:13):
bottom of the line. So basically no power anything,
no power seats, no power lift gate.
But it did have some power and that was in the motor, which is
going to sound really funny whenI tell you this. 1.3 liter
turbocharged, about 100 and 5055horsepower, small crossover SUV.
It was actually perfect for myself, my wife, and my

(07:34):
mother-in-law. Two big suitcases, of course.
Mine was the smallest, one of the smaller hard shield roller
boards you're ever going to get.All of our backpacks all fit
nicely in the car and there would have been more room ahead.
We'd lowered or we put down one of the two rear seats because my
mother-in-law only takes up one seat.
But this car was actually prettypeppy.

(07:55):
It's not something I would ever consider buying.
It's just not. But not only was I impressed,
Yvette was impressed because shedrove this a lot too.
That little turbo motor, that little 1.3 liter turbo is
actually quite peppy. I did a full review of it on
YouTube, so you can see that youmay have already seen it.
Since you subscribe to this channel, assuming you're
subscribe to this channel and assuming you're actually

(08:16):
watching this, is it something Ithink you should look into as a
used vehicle? It depends.
It's small, it's well equipped as long as you don't get the Lt.
A lot of plastic, you know what I mean?
A lot of plastic in this thing. But if you get the nicer models
like the Rs or the Active, thoseare the two that I would suggest
getting. And then everything that we
didn't have in ours, those basically come with.

(08:37):
And it was actually a lot more fun to drive.
And because of that little turbo, even though it only has
155 horsepower, when driving around a city like Buffalo where
the average speed limit is like 50, it's plenty.
I don't know if it would do too well out here where the speed
limit is posted 65, but everybody goes 85 or 90.
But in a place like Buffalo and all part of the country, the

(08:59):
Northeast, the the East Coast, Ithink it's perfect and we would
totally rent it again. And that is the car segment.
So like I said in the opening, we went to Buffalo, this is our
fourth time going out there and we always go out there to watch
the Bills play. You know, my wife's family, huge
Buffalo Bills family, which makes us the Bills family.

(09:20):
We got the jerseys and all that kind of stuff.
I think I've said this before and I'm going to say it again.
I don't have a large family. And so my the biggest part of
the family is through the extension of my wife.
And what I love about these trips is we go there, but her
siblings join us there. So Wilson was there who actually
lives here. You guys know Wilson, her
brother Ray and and Ray's wife were there, Emily was there, her

(09:43):
sister. So it was all of our core.
So no matter where we go, we have as much of the core there
as possible and it just makes iteven that more fun.
Cousins came, aunts came, plus my wife being from Buffalo has a
lot of family there. We went out to Dunkirk.
I don't know if you guys know where Dunkirk is.
It's about an hour outside of Buffalo and that's what we do.
We go out there, we eat food, wedrink a lot, but not too much.

(10:06):
One of the best things about this trip was my brother-in-law
Ray drove and he got this, well,he said because they had nothing
else available, but it's so fitting that he had it.
But he rented a Ford Expedition. He usually drives big vehicles.
And so he actually drove us to Dunkirk and he drove to the
Bills game and it was great. This was like the first time,
one of the first times where we've gone on a vacation, I have

(10:29):
barely had to drive. I drove to the Airbnb, I drove
to the hotel and that's basically it to and from the
airport. The place that we stayed, well,
we stayed in a Marriott the first night, which is fine,
whatever. But the Airbnb we stayed at was
in the West Buffalo. One of the cousins came over and
said, oh, you guys an Airbnb in the ghetto.

(10:49):
So we kind of wondered if you guys are listening to this and
you're from Grand Rapids, MI. It kind of reminded me of the
Heritage Hill District, which I kind of, I didn't grow up there.
I moved there from Texas. Well, you have, so you have
Heritage Hill, which are a bunchof really old but nicely
gentrified homes that are now rented out to college kids.

(11:13):
Or you can buy it for an arm anda leg.
I was one block over. And so I, I had one of those
houses where I was, I rented thesecond floor of a two family
flat. And you wouldn't want to go
trick or treating in my neighborhood.
You would have to pull up a map and pick the three or four
houses you can go to and skip the rest.
In fact, the closer you got to, so I was in between 2 streets,

(11:35):
the closer you got to the streeton the right when you walked out
the door, the more ghetto and dangerous it was.
The closer you got to the one onthe left, the more gentrified it
was. So that's kind of where I live.
But anyway, Heritage Hill, really old homes that are all
fixed up so much to where you can't really renovate them.
You have to, I think, contact the city.
So if you want to get new Windows, they have to be windows

(11:56):
that are period specific, I guess period correct in their
makeup. They could be new Windows, but
they have to look old, if that makes sense.
You can't just overhaul the new air conditioner.
You can't change the facade of the house, any of that.
So where we were staying in Buffalo, W Buffalo reminded me
of that, had it not been gentrified.

(12:17):
One thing that I said was, well, this is like in Back to the
Future or Back to the Future too.
When Marty goes and he has an Almanac and Biff steals it from
him and then he goes back to 1985 and everything is different
and he goes back to his own neighborhood.
It's all nasty. Not saying this W Buffalo
neighborhood is nasty, but that's the best way I can kind

(12:37):
of compare it in comparing that to like Heritage Hill.
Heritage Hill was before the Almanac.
W Buffalo was after the Almanac. In the middle of the movie, the
parking situation. I made note of that.
I could never live in a neighborhood that doesn't have
dedicated parking. The Airbnb that we rented has a

(12:57):
very narrow driveway to the backyard where there would
normally be arking excet for. All these houses are rented out
and so you have the recycle bin and the trash bin out there for
multile houses. So in order for us to park back
there, we would have had to moveall the trash receptacles, which
you kind of don't want to touch those if you're not supposed to.
Some of the houses didn't even have driveways and there was no

(13:21):
assigned parking. Of course, there was a ton of us
staying in the house. Some stayed on the 2nd floor,
some stayed on the 1st floor. Technically 2 identical
apartments with the same number of bedrooms, kitchens,
everything, but no real parking. And so we had to play this
parking game. Plus, W Buffalo was like some of
those streets around the like, we don't have this here, but I
know that Wisconsin has this, certain parts of Wisconsin where

(13:43):
you can only park on the streetscertain times of the day,
certain times of the year on certain sides.
And then after like 10:00, you can move it back somewhere else.
Then you have to move it again before like 7:00 AM.
And so a couple of us got tickets, not us.
We didn't get any tickets because we parked kind of in the
driveway, but not far enough up where anyone else could park
behind us. But I just could not live in a

(14:04):
neighborhood that I don't have my own dedicated parking.
It just doesn't make sense to me.
You can't have a nice car because again, no dedicated
parking. So I couldn't do that, you know,
not other than the the togetherness of being with
people that you enjoy the company of.
It was really not much to talk about Buffalo at this point.
The fourth trip in other than when we went to the game, it was

(14:25):
perfect. We one of the cousins hooked us
up with some people he knows that runs one of the parking
lots. So for 30 bucks a car, we're
able to park and it was a decentwalk from the stadium, but you
didn't really notice because everybody around there was
parked the same way. But we're able to play cornhole
grill out drink. My brother-in-law Wilson brought

(14:47):
his Clippers. He's a he's a Barber.
So he's cutting people's hair out there for some content.
And it's just a great time. And you know, I, I'm more of a
player follower than a team follower traditionally, but it's
really hard not to like the Buffalo Bills and not root for
that team, especially if you've ever gone to one of their,
their, their tailgating. And every time we've gone, it's

(15:07):
been a different experience, butevery experience has been a
great experience. And so, you know, this is their
last year at Highmark. They're building the brand new
stadium literally, like literally across the parking
lot. I hope that that whole
tailgating spirit is going to kind of stay the same and we're
going to go to more games. Not this year, but it feels like
we go every few years and it's always a great time.

(15:28):
Finally, let's get to the moviesthat I watched on the plane
there. I watched Speed Racer 2008.
I don't know if you've ever heard of Speed Racer.
I mean, obviously the cartoon, which I actually never watched.
I never watched the cartoon. I think the shape of the Mach 5
just didn't do it for me and it just I think I'm I'm imagining

(15:50):
Speed Racer in my head right now.
The cartoon where you got the main character Speed and he's
got like there's a little red scarf, which always seemed kind
of weird to me. 1/2 helmet, likeone of those racing helmets that
it's not a full face mask. It's just like this auto cross
helmet and I just never gravitated to that.
But I decided to watch the live action movie for some reason.

(16:12):
I figured what the hell? It doesn't.
I didn't watch the trailer. I didn't.
I didn't click on it thinking itwas going to be great.
The movie was fun. I I think watching the movie was
probably targeted for 12 to 14 year olds just because the
special effects weren't meant tolook real.
I don't know if you've ever watched like the Sonic movies or

(16:35):
even the old Dick Tracy movie where things were.
It's kind of like mixing realitywith some animation and no, not
not Roger, not who framed Roger rabbit.
Like they show the kid and when he's in school, he's kind of
daydreaming in class and and everything around him kind of
turns to cartoons, you know, like I just think about how fun
that is to kind of show the kidsimagination.

(16:59):
But it actually had a lot of known people in it acting.
Off the top of my head, I can say John Goodman, maybe you know
who John Goodman is? He was and Roseanne.
He was one of the the husband's the funny ones actually had a
whole handful of people. So look it up speed, speed razor
2008. It wasn't a good movie.
It wasn't a bad movie. It was just kind of a fun, I can

(17:19):
say cute movie. And I and I really think that if
you're nine years old to 12 yearold, 13 year old, if you have
kids that age, they're going to really enjoy watching that
movie, especially if they like cars.
I watched Mickey 17. It came out earlier this year in
2025 with Robert Pattinson. I really wanted to like this

(17:42):
movie. I would probably say for 70% of
the movie, I kept asking myself, why am I watching this?
This movie is so damn stupid. But I think I understood what
the movie was trying to do and that's why I just kept watching
it. And in the end, it kind of had
an interesting, I wouldn't say apoint, but it, it was
interesting how things unfolded in the movie.
And I just, I walked away thinking about the movie as

(18:05):
something that just could have and probably should have been so
much better than it was. I, I don't, I don't know of
Robert Pattinson's character or his casting was great for the
movie. He talked the whole time with
like a Brooklyn Bronxy New York accent, which just didn't fit
him. Hell, he may talk like that in
real life. I don't know.
But the whole premise of the movie is it's called Mickey 17

(18:27):
because he's the 17th iteration of Mickey.
It's futuristic where everyone'strying to get off the planet any
way they can, the planet Earth. So it kind of reminded me a
little bit of Starship Troopers in a way where it has like this
really dark humor. It just wasn't very funny.
I understood what it was trying to be.
Mark Ruffalo was the main antagonist.

(18:48):
He's the guy who chartered this mission on one of these ships.
He and his wife and they are basically kind of Hitlerish
where they're just trying to getthat clean.
They're trying to repopulate thethe American race on whatever
planet they get to. So they use Mickey as kind of
the test human. That's why there's so many of
them. He signs a contract that means
that every time he gets killed, they can reprint his body.

(19:10):
But he keeps he keeps his memories.
But each Mickey is a little different, I guess personality
wise from the prior. But Mark Ruffalo just not.
He just does not make a good antagonist.
And I don't want to say it's hisacting like all political, you
know, politics aside, I like himas a Hulk.
I like him in other movies. I think he's insufferable when
it comes to his opinion on things.

(19:31):
And his character was just it was almost like it, it felt like
I was watching a cartoon like Despicable Me.
Imagine Despicable Me with real people.
And then imagine the like any ofthe main bad guys as actually a
real person. He was that animated and
annoying. It's as if I was watching a kid

(19:51):
show. It's as if I was watching Zeke
our our grandson watch some sci-fi kid show, which is the
worst acting and the worst bad guys.
And yeah, for that, I think Mickey 17 was.
Terrible. I looked it up on Rotten
Tomatoes and it actually did better than I thought it did
with the critics and the audience.
So, you know, maybe I'll watch it again and have an
appreciation for it. But I think you should watch

(20:11):
Mickey 17 and tell me what your thoughts are of the movie or if
you've seen the movie, I'm really interested to know what
your thoughts are of that. And then I watched the movie
called Unholy Trinity, which is Samuel L Jackson, Pierce
Brosnan, a Western and some other guy.
And it wasn't good, wasn't bad. It was just a movie I watched on
the plane. But yeah, those are the three

(20:32):
movies. So check those out or don't.
But I think Speed Racer was a surprise.
Mickey 17 was a huge disappointment.
And then Unholy Trinity was justa movie I watched on the plane.
All right, let's get into some football.
Ready down. OK, as promised, I call him
Quincy. His fans call him talk to Q
radio show Q man it. We're back for some for some

(20:55):
football talk. Hey man, glad to be back.
So I want to kind of go over where we were right and where we
were wrong. Probably some overreactions, but
now we're sitting at, you know, NFL week.
I think Week 6 is up is on us and we are college football Week
7. Let's talk a little bit about
the NFL first. I did say Shudur Sanders will be

(21:18):
starting by Week 3, obviously through some latest moves as of
today, Today is a Tuesday, October 7th.
I just, I literally just got back from Buffalo less than an
hour ago. I went to the went to the yeah,
the the Sunday night game. Unfortunately we lost, but it
was a great time tailgating. People are going to get the
details on that on the regular part of the show, but Joe Flacco

(21:41):
got traded today to the Bengals, which moves Shudura up to
quarterback #2 what are your thoughts on that transaction?
You know, you don't see too manytrades in the division.
So it was desperation on Cincinnati's part.
But as far as Cleveland is concerned, I mean, they know
Flacco's not the future. And they started Dylan Gabriel

(22:02):
last week. So they saw an opportunity to go
ahead and get some draft capitaland, you know, move up the
youngsters. So I think it's just a matter of
time before Shudor gets his chance.
You said Week 3 and you might not be too far off.
Yeah, I didn't watch the game, but I I looked at the stat line
and it looked like Dylan Gabrieldid OK.

(22:23):
I mean, he's not garbage by any means.
He was a much higher draft pick than Chadur.
And I remember him in Oklahoma, and then I remember him in in
Oregon, and he was very serviceable.
I thought he was a little small, but that doesn't really matter
today in in football, it seems. But yeah, that's pretty wild.
What about the backlash from Chadur's MIME interview?

(22:45):
You know what, he's very immature.
I'll say that I get it. I I get it that he's of the
mindset that if I say something, you're going to talk about me.
If I don't say something, you'regoing to talk about me.
But but still to handle it that way, just say no comment.
So his maturity is still an issue and it's still holding him
back and he just doesn't realizeit.

(23:07):
Yeah, and I think we talked about this before I I hate to
say it's an apple, doesn't you know, the fruit doesn't fall far
from the tree because I mean, I'm a Dion guy through and
through, but that has to be, I mean that arrogance comes from
his old man and it just doesn't really fit too well as a
quarterback. Quarterback three, you know, up
up to obviously now quarterback 2.
But yeah, I wish he would just say the right thing, just hey,

(23:30):
man, I'm just ready for my opportunity.
I'm sitting back and just studying the game.
And I'll be ready when when my number is called, you know, just
something very mature. Even if inside he feels like
every day he should be the one starting.
It's like my kid, my son, when he was in when he was in high
school, he wanted to transfer toa different school because he
wanted to be a starter. He wanted to go to a smaller
school so he'd be seeing more. And our feedback was, well, the

(23:54):
eye in the sky doesn't lie. Work harder in practice and
don't give your coaches an attitude, which we know he does.
And then maybe you'll get an opportunity to show him.
And I think it's kind of the same deal with Shadur in a sense
where, I mean, Shadur has all the talent in the world.
Not saying my son didn't, but hedidn't.
And, you know, I mean, I didn't play high school football, so

(24:16):
I'm not really talking down on him.
But I mean, he would he would know if he looked back.
He was kind of arrogant at the time.
But you know, I wish Shadur would just kind of shut up, you
know? Yeah, yeah.
And I get it. It kind of goes against the
Sanders protocol. That family has made a lot of
money being how they are. And some people just like to

(24:40):
celebrate the moment. And it's, it's a cultural thing,
you know? And I I just wish that he would
understand that you're no longerin that world.
You're in a totally different place with totally different
people who are running the show. And I'm not saying you know,
just I'm not putting them on some shut up and dribble type of
stuff, but dial it, dial it backand and get the job 1st and then

(25:05):
cut up. Right.
You know, earn, earn the arrogance, I guess.
And people are still going to get on him.
But that's just, it comes with the family name.
And at this point, he has a reputation that he's never going
to shake. So all he could do is when he
gets the opportunity to just getout there and play.
Travis Hunter. We talked about Travis Hunter.
I think he's still struggling onboth sides of the ball, but he

(25:26):
made an incredible catch the other day.
I guess last night on Monday Night Football I made an
incredible catch and when he hadan opportunity, he was able to
make some moves. What are your thoughts on what
you've seen so far from him? I think he's grown into the
receiver position a little more and he's always been great at
tracking the ball. That's what made him get, you

(25:48):
know, that's how I helped him get so many interceptions in
college as well. He does a great job as far as
you know, adjusting his body andgetting in position to to snag
the ball. So I think you'll get better at
receiver. I think he's a better receiver
than he's going to be. ADBI know a lot of people were
kind of hyping him up about thatthird down stop or something he

(26:10):
had on Travis Kelsey, but he clearly helped Kelsey.
But I thought it was a great catch and I think he's capable
of doing that so he can be a really good #2 receiver, I
think. I just don't think he's just a
number one guy. Yeah, and you know, they had him
on top of Worthy, Xavier Worthy. And Xavier Worthy is a burner

(26:30):
even with a with a bum ankle. But I will say this that Travis
Hunter can make that catch. Xavier Worthy wouldn't have made
that catch. I know X from from his Longhorn
days. He's not known for having great
hands. Yeah.
So I think if he just focuses onhis role and not try to do too

(26:50):
much, you know, I don't want to see him going over the middle,
catching a slant and having someone lay him out.
But spectacular catches down thefield.
Yeah, do that. Yeah, I would.
I would like to see Trevor Lawrence, Thor, some 5050 balls
his way. Yeah.
Yeah, because we know, we know he's he's going to go up there
and get him. Yeah, yeah.
And Trevor Lawrence, talk about that play he made when he

(27:11):
failed. Oh.
My gosh. And got him over there for a
touchdown. Excuse me, go through that play
in your head right now, if you can imagine it, because that and
they showed the replay like 50 times.
And man, it was unbelievable because once he failed, I
thought the play was over for the most part.
And most quarterbacks don't get up.

(27:32):
He tried to get up, he stumbled again.
So I'm thinking, OK, it's definitely over.
And you saw the defense relax a little bit because I think they
thought that he had given up. But dude hops up and his his
offensive line never stopped blocking and there was a hole
right there and he took it. And when he took off to that
right side and the defensive endhave been pancaked, man, it was

(27:55):
just a foot race at that at thatpoint.
And as big as he is, I mean, once he gets his momentum going,
he's going to get in an end zone.
So that was a very crazy play inKansas City.
Has to be sick behind that. Yeah, and Chris Jones is getting
so much shit on social media. And I mean, literally minutes
before that, I think it was TroyAitman saying it's Chris Jones
time. And he did flush him out of the

(28:16):
pocket early in that drive. But I kind of understand.
I just thought about this. Think back to the very famous
Barry Sanders running against the Dallas Cowboys where Tony
Casillas is basically stops moving and is looking over and
then Ken Norton junior falls down.
You know, it's I'm not, I'm not saying Trevor Lawrence is Barry
Sanders by any stretch. But it was kind of one of those
weird plays where, you know, half the defense probably
thought the play was over. And Chris Jones, he was in

(28:40):
position. He would have made that tackle.
He would have ran him down, especially when Trevor Lawrence
cut back into the right just before he dove in.
Chris would have met him right there.
But. Just standing there watching,
like he couldn't believe what was going on.
Yeah, yeah, because it's like intoday's football, right?
It's the thought is OK, I I don't know if I heard a whistle,
but if I go over there and blow this dude up now it's first and

(29:02):
goal, you know, unnecessary roughness or whatever they're
going to call it. I bet you for maybe for a
microsecond in his head he thought that and that's all it
takes in the NFL. So, but that was some wacky ass
shit. But the Bills?
You know, it is a tough way to lose the game and and then
Xavier worthy. I just need five more points for
him, man. Just five more points like can

(29:22):
you make a play? I need to win my first game in
fantasy. I have O and four so far.
Oh man. Maybe O and five, actually.
Yeah, it's very brutal. Let's switch to college
football. Michigan seems to be doing all
right. Michigan is, they're running
that ball and that's why they'rehaving the success that they're
having. It allows, you know, Underwood

(29:45):
to kind of still grow into the moment 'cause he's still a true
freshman, He's good, but he still has a little ways to go.
But that running Batman justice,Oh my goodness.
I mean, he's a big play with it waiting to happen.
And, and I'm, I'm liking it. It reminds me of, you know, when
Blake Coram and Donovan Edwards were doing their thing.
I just think the running game isimportant at Michigan.

(30:06):
The offensive line being able tohelp kind of control the game.
So they can do that. I think they can, you know, have
great success and keep this thing rolling.
But man, last week they were, they were just dominant on the
ground. I loved it.
Are you surprised at the early success they've had?
I don't know who all they played.
I know they lost. I forgot who they played early

(30:28):
on and they were getting all sorts of crap for losing that
game. It was a big game, Oklahoma and
and yeah, the quarterback just wasn't ready during that game.
Yeah, yeah. And I, I mean, and Oklahoma just
outplayed them. I mean, it was, it was no, no,
no doubting that. And I, I think they're, they're
doing better than what I expected, to be honest with you,

(30:50):
because this is a time that I thought would be maybe 8 and
four things went well, nine and three and they still could end
up in that place. They got a tough game against
USC this weekend. But right now they look pretty
good and they seem to be pretty confident and so, and if that
defense can tighten it up just alittle bit more than hey, maybe

(31:10):
they could be looking at ten wins.
You know who they look better than right now?
A. Lot better than Penn State.
They look better than Penn State.
They look a lot better than Texas right now.
Oh man man, my condolences. Thank you.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
You know, a lot of Flack for going into the swamp and losing.

(31:30):
Florida is never a crappy team. They've had some bad years, but
they always have some talent. I don't know what's going on,
but I think I kind of called it where I wasn't quite sure about
Arch Manning and I'm still not quite sure about him.
It's easy to blame the offensiveline, but he's just not very
good. And you know, some of his basic
mechanics are are totally off. And remember what I said at the

(31:51):
beginning of the season? I said if he's really that good
and that ready, then when Quinn Yours was struggling down the
stretch last year, especially inthe biggest moments of the
biggest games, they didn't even swap them in at all.
So they knew something. Sarkeesian knew something behind
just the name alone, that the kid wasn't ready.
And I'm not trying to put all this on Arch Manning, but I've
seen him throw some terrible passes, overthrow under throw,

(32:13):
completely miss things off balance.
The running game is garbage. I told you even last year, Trey
Wisner, he's not good. He can't make a play.
He needs a excellent offensive lineup from him.
He's garbage. Baxter's out.
I don't know who the receivers are.
Ryan Wingo can't be the guy. He wasn't the guy last year.
He had doesn't have good hands. He's a playmaker, but I don't

(32:36):
know, man. I mean, three and two there
weren't. I think they're the first team
since USC or somebody, maybe Oklahoma to start in the
preseason top and be completely out of the top 25 after like 5
weeks. Yeah, it's been disappointing.
The running game would definitely help Arch.

(32:56):
And I mean, if his last name wasn't Manning, I'm not sure if
anyone would look at this as a big disappointment, so to speak,
or some sort of play down. But he has a lot of pressure on
him and he has a long way to go.And like I said, the running
game would definitely help and I'm a little protection as well

(33:16):
as far as to drop back to pass. And I, I, I feel bad for the kid
because I really feel like he's getting a getting hammered and
he he doesn't deserve that because, you know, he never said
that he was the second comic. He just everyone else just hyped
him up because of his last name.So it's kind of a Brownie James
situation in a way, but where I am kind of surprised, I thought

(33:41):
Texas defensive line will be more of a terror than they've
been. You know, I was really thinking
that defensive line was going todestroy some people and I, I
just haven't seen that either. Yeah, they have some talent
there. Obviously Colin Simmons is there
and but they, I mean, they have been destroying people.
They just not destroying, I guess, Florida, right, Because

(34:03):
Florida ran all over them. Yeah, Ohio State scored two
touchdowns on them, but that's about it.
Yeah. And I guess, I guess when you
look at their 2 losses, 14 to 729 to, what, 22, I think, yeah,
close or 21. But the three wins they have are
against nobodies, and I guess that's why you don't give it all

(34:24):
the hype. So maybe I couldn't really put
them in the top 25, But The funny thing is they're still
favored to beat Oklahoma, which is 6 and oh, I think right now.
I don't, I don't get that. I think that's I don't either.
I think Vegas is messing with us.
So I, I mean, I know you'd love to see it, but I just now, now
Oklahoma isn't their quarterbackhurt machine.

(34:45):
If that's the case, maybe that'swhy.
But I think he's been hurt and they're still winning games and
he's trying to come back for theRed River Rivalry, which is this
weekend, actually, as we record this.
By the time this comes out, it will have already happened.
But it's just funny. It's just like I said again, the
season, if you want Texas to be #1 and you're given Ohio State
#3 then why are you picking OhioState to beat the number one

(35:06):
team? And of course they did, but that
just doesn't make sense. Same deal here.
Oklahoma's number six in the country right now.
Texas is out of the top 25, but Texas is still favored to win.
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense.But I don't know.
I don't, I don't care for pre season rankings anyway.
I always felt like they they should wait at least a month
before they come out with rankings because we've seen a

(35:28):
lot of things shift and it's been crazy.
And, and, and the Penn State game, and I'm sorry, I just have
to mention the Penn State game. You're playing Owen Ford, UCLA.
Now everyone always comes down on James Franklin because he
can't win the big games. But you got to win this one.
You have to win this one. And I mean to let UCLA drop

(35:51):
what, 42 on you? Oh boy, that was a long flight
home, I guarantee you that. There's the graphic comparing
Steve Sarkisian, I think to Franklin and then Steve
Sarkisian to whatever his face is over Texas A&M.
And the, the number of wins and losses is like there's like 3

(36:12):
games are different. And I think it's a little unfair
to Sarkisian. It's not just because I'm a
Texas guy, but they've they've made, they've won some big games
and they've won some big games on the road too, against some
real dogs. And his first couple of years
were terrible. So I think there's those, the
win losses kind of stacked against him a little bit on that
one. Yeah, yeah.
So, yeah, these comparisons theymake aren't necessarily fair.

(36:34):
But I don't know, I, I look forward to the the Red River
game, you know, rivalry on on Saturday.
And I mean, if Texas pulls it off then.
So right back in the conversation, right?
Yeah, yeah. But I just, I, I just can't see
what the way they've been playing on offense.
Same, man. I, I don't know what's going on.
They, they have one good receiver.

(36:56):
I, I have to believe they have more than one good receiver.
You know, they got that guy #13 who seems to be the fast,
acrobatic white dude. And then they have Ryan Wingo,
who can't catch, but he can makeplays.
You just have to find ways to give him the ball.
No running game. Let's take a step back.
And, and we didn't talk about Ashton over there with the

(37:16):
Raiders. Yeah, he's he's, I've watched
him and he's, because I have himin my fantasy league, it's been
somewhat of a disappointment to me.
He had the one good game where he scored three touchdowns,
which is really odd, but I don'treally see him doing much.
I know they don't really have much of an offensive line, but
I've been I've been thinking about trading away that fantasy
pig now for a few weeks. I don't know, I I didn't see his

(37:38):
last game, but I know that they've had some issues with
Jano throwing interceptions. So the passing game hasn't been
all that bad that great. And maybe that's hurting the
running game. Like I said, I didn't see the
last game. So I don't know, you know, how
he performed or if they stacked the box on them.
And you know, if people aren't just afraid of Jano at

(37:59):
quarterback. But I I still believe in the
guy. I think he's a good running back
and I think it's going to show at some point.
But we're talking about the Raiders.
So it's hard to evaluate anyone when it comes to the Raiders.
Yeah, I'm just not seeing him really make any plays show any
real speed or break anything. You know, he can jiggle a little
bit. But you know, you, you compare

(38:21):
him to some of the other guys inthe position that have been
pretty hyped in the past few years and they're, you know,
making a little more plays. He's he doesn't really block
very well either. So he's getting his, he's out
there getting his quarterback killed.
And then that's not good. And blocking is important.
That's why a lot of great college running backs fail when
they get to the NFL. They just can't pick up the
blitz or block very well, and these guys are a lot faster than

(38:45):
anything Boise State ever saw, that's for sure.
All these guys in the NFL are fast, so maybe it'd take a
moment to adjust better. I'm hoping he can do it because
I just saw way too much at BoiseState for me to think that he's
going to be a bust. Same.
Yeah, I think he just needs obviously better blocking, but
who doesn't, right. But he has the ability to break

(39:06):
it. So I guess it was just, I guess
we'll just have to see. Yeah, He has to understand that
this is the pros, so you can't expect every run you have or
every other run to be, you know,15 plus yards.
You have to take that 4 yards, 5yards, put your head down.
So maybe he just needs to changehis mindset and understand he's

(39:26):
not at Boise State. Back to the NFL, one on this,
this Kansas City, I think they're two and three right now.
They're on, they're under 500. I don't know if this is the
first time and how many seasons they've actually been under 500
at this point in the season. Do you think they have what it
takes to get their shit togetheror they finally over with?
I think they'll figure it out. I mean, you have Rashe Rice,

(39:48):
Rashe Rice coming back at receiver soon and that's going
to be a boost. I think you've been getting some
good play out of Taekwon Thornton on some of the big
plays. And so I I think that they can
get it together. I just wish they were a little
bit more consistent in the running game.
They they have 3 running backs and it doesn't seem like any of

(40:10):
them can ever get in a groove because Pacheco, he can punish
people, but it's like it seems like when he gets going to take
them out, they bring in Kareem Hunt or they bring in this guy
Smith, Bashar Smith or I can't remember his first.
Name the rookie, right? Yeah, yeah.
So I I think they need to kind of be consistent with the run a
little little more, let Pacheco do his thing, wear some teams

(40:33):
down and and they got to figure out tight end Kelsey's not
Kelsey anymore. So they need the number 2 to
step up. All right, well, we'll see where
we're at. We'll get back together before
the end of the college football season as the playoffs kick off.
We'll see where we're at with that.
Hopefully my Longhorns can rally.
Right now, your, your, your Wolverines seem to be in a much

(40:55):
better position. But you know, there's a lot of
stuff that still hasn't happened.
And same with the NFLI know I still got the Bills.
I mean, they're not. They were going to go undefeated
so. Yeah, Yeah, that's true.
It's still a lot of football left to be played, still
sometimes figuring things out. But I do want to ask you one
quick thing, man. The Heisman, like at the

(41:16):
beginning of the year, everyone who we thought was a candidate,
it's like a wash now. I mean, so you have this guy at
Baylor, I can't think of his name.
The quarterback at Baylor who leaves the nation and pass and
he's doing well. You know, the running back from
Michigan. I I don't know who else you
have, though. The wide receiver from the USCI

(41:38):
think it's from USA. Oh, no, Ohio State has the wide
receiver, too. Smith.
Yeah, yeah, you have him. So I, I don't know who the
favorite is anymore. So I think that's up in the air
more than I've ever seen. You know, I thought about this
as those who's going to end that?
Yeah, no idea on the Heisman. I think the NIL makes it harder

(42:00):
and harder every year to figure out who's going to do what.
What do you think of all the controversy of the NFL halftime
show announcement? It's expected.
It's expected. But I mean, Bad Bunny, I, I'm
not necessarily a bad, I don't have any of his music.

(42:21):
I've seen him before and performbefore on award shows and
everything. He's a high energy guy and I
think that he's going to do finefor the Super Bowl.
People are making a big deal outof it, mainly because he's
spoken out against Trump and there are a lot of people who
don't want to have an all Spanish halftime show.

(42:42):
But I think he's going to be fine.
But I, I knew once they made that announcement and I heard
who it was, I said, man, people are going to lose their minds
behind this. Yeah, I, we don't talk about
that around here, but my family praises, they love Bad Bunny.
He's, you know, they'd, they'd elect him president of the world
if they could, you know, from the Puerto, you know, Puerto

(43:04):
Rican roots and everything, right?
I, I don't own any of his music. That's all the family listens
to. I think it's fine.
But my confusion, I was a littleconfused when they first
announced it because I was like, wait, he doesn't really speak
any English or have any English songs.
But then I thought he's going tocollab with somebody.
That's what's going to make the great halftime show.

(43:26):
And I knew that, you know, his his anti current administration
stance was going to be a problem.
He did double down, which I think is very disappointing.
And I think that's just him being arrogant and thinking he's
on top of the world by saying, if you don't understand my what
I just said, you have four months to learn Spanish.
I knew that wasn't going to, youknow, make too many people

(43:48):
happy. He cancelled his entire U.S.
tour 'cause they don't want ICE arresting people.
And then of course, he's very LGBT neutral.
And I don't have a problem with that either.
But you know, I can kind of see how that would just drive people

(44:09):
crazy on top of everything else. But I think he's going to rock
it. But I'm just curious to see if
if people are going to Boo when he comes out on stage, which I
wouldn't put it past people. You know, it wouldn't surprise
me if you do hear booze because, and I know they talked about
they're going to have ice ages at the Super Bowl and all that
stuff. Believe me, I don't know too

(44:29):
many immigrants who can afford Super Bowl tickets, OK?
I don't know too many people period that can afford super.
Bowl tickets. Thank you.
So I, I wouldn't expect to see any there, but I think he's
going to get some booze because they're going to be a lot of
rich people at the Super Bowl. And a lot of rich people tend
tend to lean right for the most part.
And I don't want to put people in a box, but, you know, but I,

(44:54):
I mean, so I, I expect some booze, but I don't think it's
going to matter. I think it's going to be a
highly rated Super Bowl because for the people who decide
they're going to change the channel, they're going to be,
you know, that many more Hispanics that are going to join
in and they act like he's like from Mars or somewhere, I mean,
Puerto Rican. You're, you're an American, So I

(45:17):
don't. I think he needs to understand
that too, though. But I think that I think he's
going to freaking kill it, you know, and and if somebody wants
to turn off the halftime show during halftime, sometimes
people just don't pay attention. And all you ever hear on
halftime shows lately is God, that sucked, right?
I mean, I didn't Kendrick Lamar,I thought that was, I didn't
like that show at all. But it didn't stop me from

(45:38):
watching the Super Bowl. Yeah, and I, I'd much rather see
him do the halftime show than another appearance on Saturday
Night Live because he was horrible this past weekend.
But the announcement as of late, you know, with the Kendrick
Lamar and now this I, I get people just kind of want the old
school family friendly type of Super Bowl, so to speak.

(46:01):
There's no controversy, there's no hidden messages, there's none
of that bullshit, but it is whatit is.
But I don't even know if that exists anymore, man.
I mean, it's controversy and everything.
Somebody's going to be upset A. 100%, Yep.
Yeah. All right, Cuba.
We'll do it again toward the middle of the season.
Sounds good man. I appreciate you, Jay.
Thanks for having me. Thanks for joining.
